First Competitive Team. Help is very much appreciated!

Hey there guys! This is my first time posting, so please tell me if anything is wrong with my team or if I should change anything. Well then, off to the team!

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spd
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Fire Blast
- Stone Edge
- Crunch

This is my main man, Tryranitar. The history of this team was that it was supposed to be a Sand-based team with Sand Rush Excadrill (fell in love with him in BW, until he was moved to Ubers) and Mega-chomp. After a lot of testing, the original planned failed (or I was not just used to the new weather mechanics), but Tyranitar has shown to be a very good Pokemon to just keep in the team. He is my main lead, setting up Rocks on the field, or threatening any other leads to a switch or a KO. I gave him Leftovers because I want him in the fight long enough to take in Special hits or Talonflame. EDIT: Exchanged Earthquake to Fire Blast so I can kill off Ferrothorn or Forretress leads. Earthquake does nothing to them

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 248 Def / 16 Spd
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Roost
- Toxic
- Knock Off

The Pokemon to take in any Physical hits that would otherwise kill or weaken most of my Pokemon, Gliscor has been a rather suprisingly good Pokemon ever since I put him in my team. Gliscor covers the Fighting weakness of most of my Pokemon, and works wonders with Tyranitar with a Sand-Toxic Stall type of play. Also, Knock-Off over U-turn to remove any annoying items that can seriously hurt or annoy my sweepers, such as Lefties or Rocky Helmet.

Rotom-Mow @ Chesto Berry
EVs: 252 HP / 180 Def / 76 SpD
Calm Nature
- Rest
- Volt Switch
- Leaf Storm
- Will-O-Wisp

My team has an obvious weakness to Water, with almost no Pokemon that can take in Water-type attacks without going to the red zone, so I put in Rotom-Mow in m team to take them in. Rotom-Mow is also my other status absorber, taking in Sleep Powder, Spores and Thunder Wave that could cripple my team and can also take in Leech Seed. Also, the main reason I have chosen Rotom-Mow over his more popular forme, Rotom-W, is that Rotom-Mow can kill Rotom-W or force a switch-out.EDIT: Changed around the EVs to balance out Def and Sp Def.

Lucario @ Lucarionite
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Close Combat
- Bullet Punch

My Mega-evolution, and the star of the team. Mega-Lucario can take down teams with ease, often times with no prior set-up. Lucario is used more as my late-game cleaner after everything has been worn down, and no other Pokemon can outspeed him or take in any of his attacks.

images

Greninja @ Life Orb
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Dark Pulse
- U-turn

My midgame sweeper. This Pokemon is so good; it has so many options for attack, that there is almost no good switch-in against him. My main concern with Greninja though is his low defenses, so he easily dies to priority attacks that he does not resist, and that his HP easily dwindles down due to the combination of Sand damage and Life Orb recoil.

gengar.jpg

Gengar @ Black Sludge
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Dazzling Gleam

Gengar is my spinblocker and a potential sweeper. At any time Gengar can put up a Substitute, it is almost stoppable. I use Dazzling Gleam over Sludge Bomb because I have noticed that most of the better Fairies are part Steel type, and Togetic and Azumarill can be answered by the rest of my team.

Well this is just a work in progress and there are still some holes here and there but over-all I am quite okay with this team. My main concern is that entry hazards really hurt my team since I usually switch-in and out. I have not yet seen a Rapid Spinner/Defogger that can be placed in my team or that reaches my standards.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and hopefully you can help me out!! Thanks a lot!

Hey, I'm *new* too, so I'll see what I can do.

1. Rotom-Mow is NOT the best option for a water resist, try somthing immune like Storm Drain gastradon, or something 4x resistant, like Rotom-W. Since you already have a physical defense pokemon, I would suggest going the gastradon route and slapping on 252 HP, 252+ SDef.

2. Gengar is not defensive. IMO, black sludge is only for the SubDisable set, LO/Expert Belt should be used on the rest. Maybe even a shadow plate.

3. The only priority you have is Lucario's Extremespeed, and you said you only bring that out late game, so there's that, you could even run Assult Vest Blastoise over Rotom-M, you get a priority move in aqua jet, and a water resistance, AND rapid spin. Great!

4. I ran scarf ttar a while ago, do you think that could work for you?

Pretty good team, I can't see any glaring flaws yet.

Use Sludgebomb/Wave over DG. Shadow Ball hits Klefki and M-Mawile already harder than DG. Or use any othe noteworthy coverage move for specific threats.

1. I haven't tried Gastrodon yet, but he might be better for the team. Since Grass is not that good as an attacking type, I might as well be able to fit him in the team. Thanks!

2. I have tried running Life Orb Gengar, but with sand up and Life Orb recoil, including the Sub damage, I find Gengar going into the red zone too much. Black Sludge seems to work a lot better for me, but I'm going to test Life Orb out first.

3. I seem to like the Blastoise idea, since he is : 1. Defensive and 2. Has Rapid Spin, but my problem now is how good he is. I don't have that much knowledge regarding Blastoise, and the only Blastoise I have used is Mega-Blastoise. If I were to put Blastoise in my team, what would be a good set for him?

4. I have tried Scarf, Band and Sash T-tar before settling with Lefties, and I'm particularly liking it because I need T-tar alive and with high HP to take in Special Attacks and Talonflame. I might go for Scarf or Sash T-tar if I fit Gastrodon or another defensive Pokemon in the team. Thanks for the response!

As I said though, I'm still testing things out. Sludge Bomb may have had been the better choice, but I really don't see its use other than STAB, and I'm still trying out Dazzling Gleam as a coverage move. Thanks for the response!!
