First Heavy Offensive Team - RMT

First Heavy Offensive Team - RMT (OU)

For a long time I have played stall, and recently wanted to try something else out. I know quite a bit about stall teambuilding, but sadly not offense. So if you could, it'd be nice if you could help me out. :) If you're nice enough, maybe even PM me and help explain to me the art of offense, although none of you have to since this is just an RMT. Anyways, to the team. This team's goal is to focus on getting rid of physical walls such as Gliscor, Gyarados, Zapdos, Rotom, etc. to set up a sweep with Mamoswine/Lucario. This team has been doing decent, but in no way is it good or great. I'm just starting out with offense, so that's the reason. Now for a more in-depth view of my first Heavy Offense team.

jirachi.png

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 8 Atk/136 Def/112 Spd/252 SAtk
Lax nature (+Def, -SDef)
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Psychic
- U-turn

My lead. Yeah, not the standard set- I know. I don't know if I would call it a good lead, but it fairs decent against many common leads such as Machamp, Azelf, Gliscor (Seen it lately, although not a common lead I guess.), Crobat, Aerodactyl, etc. First of all, with 112 Spd EV's I hit 396, enough to space out leads like Aero and Crobat, and so on. This is good because usually their first reaction is either to taunt, or set up SR. Since I'm faster I can 2HKO them. In fact I am able to 2HKO about every lead in the metagame. The Lax nature and defense EV's provide me enough to never be 2HKO'd by Machamp's dynamicpunch. Here's some scenario's against common leads.

Azelf- U-Turn out to Ttar. From there, he's trapped and should be around 40-50% range. Pursuit usually will KO him from there, and it's guaranteed if he switches.
Aerodactly- Thunderbolt on first turn while being taunted/SR'd. Do it again for the KO.
Roserade- U-Turn out to Starmie to take the sleep powder. Then switch back and Psychic for the OHKO, since any focus sash will be useless.
Smeargle- I guess you could say the same thing. U-Turn out to Starmie. If he doesn't spore then I can surf, and if he does I can switch back to Jirachi to get the KO.
Machamp- Psychic is always a 2HKO, and I am 3HKO'd by dynamicpunch at the least. Can be tricky if I hit myself in confusion, although there's about a 50% chance or so to still survive and try to attack again. So only around 25% losing to him. Should be careful with the 25% though should it happen.
Gliscor- HP Ice him. I haven't really seen any lately and am not sure if the leads run yache, however if they do I still get a 2HKO. Although I need to be wary of agility and baton passing it.
Starmie- Usually I want to U-Turn out, since specs will dominate me. After that if he's Spec'd, I can probably switch to Ttar and Pursuit/Crunch. If he's scarfed then I can switch into something that resists his previous move.
Uxie- One of my favorite match-ups (along with Zelf) but he's not too common like many others. I U-Turn out to Ttar. If he tricks, he's trapped either way. If he doesn't, still trapped. I can then go on to Pursuit should he switch.

Sorry if there's not too many leads I mentioned. I have little time right now so those were off the top of my head. Anyways, that's my lead. Feel free to change it any way you see fit to maximize the potential of this team.

tyranitar.png

Tyranitar (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge

Pretty important pokemon to this team. First of all, it is a great help against pokemon like Rotom, Gengar, etc. who could be problematic later game to Lucario, and sometimes Mamo. Basically he Pursuit traps them, so if they switch they should have enough damage for Mamo's Ice Shard to get the kill should they switch in (along with many other moves my poke's have.) He's also a great switch in from Jirachi after U-Turn to many of the common leads like Azelf and Uxie. Overall the standard ScarfTar. He's also a decent answer to Zapdos. Since I'm faster I can SE before they sub if they're one of those variants. His SpD soaks up Zapdos's moves like they're nothing, while I hit it with SE. Overall a pretty good member of the team. Feel free to change anything you want to make this team better.

zapdos.png

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Roost
- Thunderbolt
- Heat Wave
- Hidden Power Ice/Grass

One of my SpA-ers. He's the best solution to Swampert on my team too. None of the others carry any grass attacks, or enough power to nab the kill quick enough without taking a bit of damage which I prefer to avoid. HP is debatable. HP Ice is still good against many pokes like Gliscor, opposing Zapdos, Dnite, etc. and many others that could threaten this team. Thunderbolt is STAB and covers some of those hard to beat bulky waters. Pretty good answer to Vap since Tbolt 2HKO's. Even when he's wishing he will be taking more damage from my attacks than receiving from wish. Roost is for durability, and Heat Wave is a great answer for Scizor since he's one of the biggest threats to this team. Heat Wave also gets kills off of Forry, Celebi, Breloom, etc. Helps the team a bit by covering many of the counters that otherwise would deal serious damage to my team.

starmie.png

Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 136 HP/156 Def/216 Spd
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Recover
- Rapid Spin
- Thunderbolt
- Surf

Starmie is first of all, the spinner on my team. Spike switch ins hurt, and Toxic Spikes hurt a couple if they stay in too long. Stealth rock doesn't hurt my team too bad, but reduces Zapdos's effectiveness by decreasing his lifespan. This is the standard set for Starmie. I outspeed pokemon at 350 and under (forgot what base speed that is. :P) Starmie is also great at killing many of the pokemon that hinder this team's potential. Heatran, Gliscor, Infernape and is my most powerful option against anything not resisting it. (Bar Hydro Pump, but I went with Surf for accuracy.) Starmie also provides with a decent switch in to Tran, considering a wrong switch will hurt many other members of my team. Thunderbolt covers the likes of Gyara, or just bulky waters in general. Make any necessary changes/replacements.

mamoswine.png

Mamoswine (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Superpower
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

One of my late game sweepers. This is the standard LO set. Ice Shard is stab priority and covers many pokemon like Flygon, Nite, and Gliscor (Most likely low enough HP if it's alive to OHKO.) Superpower gives coverage against Blissey, Snorlax, and others who otherwise are big problems for any of my non physical pokemon. Not only that, but it carries a massive 120 power to hit many other things in the metagame with huge damage that doesn't resist. EQ is my best attack with 150 power. Gets rid of non-scarf Tran/Ttar, steels, and any pokemon weak to it. Also is my most powerful option, so if I can I will stick with EQ. SE gives coverage to almost anything EQ doesn't hit, and is there mainly for coverage. Max'd attack and speed should be obvious.

lucario.png

Lucario (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Extremespeed
- Crunch

Final pokemon on my team. After a SD, pretty much anything dies. By this time I hope to have gotten rid of bulky pokemon that are faster or could threaten Lucario such as Scarftar. Gliscor, Dnite, Zapdos, Gyara, and so on should be dead at this point. CC is my strongest option with 180 power backed up by great attack and LO. Main option if my other moves aren't super effective and it's not resisted. Extremespeed gives me the upper hand against any last pokemon they have that are faster. A great example is Infernape, who should be OHKO'd if I have gotten just 1 SD up. Crunch covers the likes of Celebi, Rotom, Gengar switching in, etc. To me, it's more useful than stone edge and I personally think that in the current metagame I get better coverage. A staple pokemon to my team, and probably the only one I absolutely want to keep. This thing rips teams apart and is amazing. Yes he has his counters, but there's not too many and hopefully the 1 or 2 they have right now are dead. Not many things resist it, so it's a perfect late game sweeper. This is the only pokemon that I don't want changed.

Conclusion: Effective team when used properly, although not the best team out there. There's many weaknesses I see, and I'm just not sure about the changes to make. It's a decent team, but not great. Pretty simple strategy, but sometimes it can be hard to pull off. This team is definitely not at it's fullest potential, and hopefully than can be changed.

That's my team. Change anything except for Lucario. Please give your best when giving an RMT instead of posting maybe a 1 sentence response. After I worked on this for an hour, even though it's not the best RMT, I would just like to get a better response than that. Thanks to anyone for helping, and if anyone does decide to PM me informing me on how to build offensive teams. :P Also keep in mind this is heavy offense, so don't turn this into a balanced team somehow please.

This is my first offensive team like I said, so go easy on me. Thanks for reading this RMT, and thanks for any rates!
