I mostly lurk around the forums but I hashed together a team I kinda sorta like so I figured I should try to post some sort of content. Honestly, I've been super biased against XY RU for a while cause stall or Meloetta or something made me mad. So when ORAS rolled around and I got bored of OU I decided "hey i should make a stall team for ru". Sweet.

Team Details:
Spiritomb @ Leftovers
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 208 HP / 252 Def / 48 Spe
Impish Nature
- Foul Play
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt
I figured I'd start the team with Spiritomb because it's a pretty solid answer to a huge chunk of the many many physical pivots, rock setters and support mons in the tier; its really a generally adequate mon in RU. For a cloud of gas and tortured screams it manages to be just chunky enough to handle hits from the likes of Rhyperior, Escavalier, Cobalion and physically focused Emboar. Speed EVs are to speed creep Rhyperior, which it otherwise wouldn't be so useful against.
Golbat @ Eviolite
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 248 HP / 80 Def / 180 SpD
Careful Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Whirlwind
- Defog
Hazard control is pretty key, and Golbat is honestly such an amazing defogger in this tier I can't imagine ever going back to RU classic Gligar. Brave Bird is a little annoying on something without passive recovery but it's a tasty stab that helps this guy beat out most hazard setters. It has pretty nice type synergy with Spiritomb for pivoting. What this moveset and EV spread focus on are not being threatened by non-specs variants of Moltres. I am having a problem with 4mss though, I really want toxic AND whirlwind and I keep switching between the two.
Dragalge @ Leftovers
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 72 HP / 252 SpA / 184 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Sludge Wave
- Scald
- Toxic Spikes
I love toxic spikes and hate Alomomola and Druddigon (and opposing stall as a whole), and this gross rotten kelp solves all my problems. Toxic spikes are a real pain to get up with all the poison types and defoggers in RU, but its a worthwhile struggle to help me play around wrecking balls like Camerupt, banded Pangoro, and hard to break walls like AV Meloetta and Slowking. And I would've probably stuck Qwilfish or Tentacruel in this slot for that stacking, but Dragale's newfound ability to just... tear open walls or frail sweepers that would otherwise switch in for free with its ludicrously strong stab moves secured its spot here. EVs are pretty standard at this point, creep Alomomola and 2hko it (and most of the tier).
Meloetta @ Assault Vest
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 248 HP / 172 SpA / 88 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psyshock
- Hyper Voice
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt
I used to get really steamed that this weird looking dog was in RU and good at everything, now I'm really glad this perfect waifu is in RU to pivot into special attackers for days. This team was generally pretty worried about anything with specs, and Meloetta really laughs at special attacks. I was debating between Meloetta and Slowking, but Slowking seemed just a bit too passive. This spread makes sure Specsploud can't 2hko it with boomburst after rocks.
Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock
- Gyro Ball
- Earthquake
Speaking of rocks... honestly the entire thought process behind Bronzong was "rocks are good, and so are steel types." Bronzong has been, since its introduction, really really really annoyingly bulky. It really helps to be able to set up rocks as many times within reason as I need. The spread is really standard, but still good. Megabird can't 2hko it with heat wave, but is always 2hkoed by gyro ball. Gyro ball is so powerful against so much of the tier even uninvested. I've been thinking Cobalion might offer some more momentum with volt switch, but the bell is too reliable.
Aromatisse @ Leftovers
Ability: Aroma Veil
EVs: 240 HP / 240 Def / 12 SpA / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Wish
- Protect
- Aromatherapy
- Moonblast
I was going to stick more goodstuff like Alomomola or Cress here, but this team was looking alarmingly dark weak, and Aromatisse... isn't dark weak? Cleric support is always useful, and it being untaunt-able is fantastic. It is a lot better in practice than it looks on paper, with adequate investment its a fine answer to Mega Sharpedo and Gallade. Necessary defense and speed are on it, the little leftover is thrown in special attack to chip that 1% more off with moonblast I suppose.
Threats:
Escavalier - If I can get a burn on it, it isn't too hard to handle, but actually getting the burn on it is an entirely different story. Some sort of fire type coverage would be really swell.
Delphox - Meloetta is my ONLY answer to this assuming specs, and Calm Mind sets require smart play or I just get blown back.
Importable:
Not that you'd want to use this team, but...
Thank you for reading, any form of feedback will be much appreciated.
