First OU team, seeking for advice!

RATE MY TEAM: MEGA PINSIR TEAM



Hi everyone, I'm a new Smogon user and this this is my first RMT. I have read the rules, and I hope I have not missed anything, in which case please forgive me :) I'm currently trying this team, and I need your advice to improve its sinergy and effectiveness. Obviously, the main purpose is creating the right conditions for Pinsir to come in and sweep, preferably all the nemy team! Let's have a look at the team:

Deoxyx Speed @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
Evs: 252 Hp / 252 Spd / 4 Sdef
Timid Nature
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Ice Beam / Magic Coat


My lead. It's main purpuse is setting up rocks, and then it can die peacefully. First three moves are pretty standard, but i'm having troubles choosing the 4th move. I'm currently trying Magic Coat because opponent Sableye shut Deoxys off completly.

Excadrill @ Air Ballon
Ability: Mold Breaker
Evs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 Hp
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Iron Head / Shadow Claw
- Rock Slide

Mega Pinsir is 4x weak to Stealth Rocks, so I need a spinner. I choose Excadrill because of its excellent typing and sheer power, and I gave it an Adamant nature in order to deal as much damage as possible. I also thought about a bulkier set, with Assault Vest and a spread of 252 Ps / 252 Atk / 4 Spd, so that a Timid Chandelure Fire Blast OHKO Exca only 20% of the times, but it seems too situational.

Tyranitar @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sand Stream
Evs: 252 Hp / 124 Def / 132 Satk
Quiet Nature
- Rock Slide
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast / Ice Beam

This is not the classic Adamant/Jolly Tyranitar. I gave it a Quiet nature so I can use powerful special moves like Fire Blast (vs. enemy Steel types) or Ice Beam (vs. enemy Gliscor – damn, I hate Gliscor). Earthquake does still a lot of damage, and Crunch is a solid secondary STAB. I don't know if Evs are the best I can gave it, if there is a better spread please tell me!

Mandibuzz @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Overcoat
Evs: 252 Hp / 252 Def / 4 Sdef
Bold Nature
- Taunt / Toxic
- Whirlwind
- Roost
- Fool Play

Mandibuzz is an excellent physical wall, and a reliable source of damage thanks to Rocky Helmet. When Stealt Rocks are up, I like sending it on the field and beginning to Whirlwind the enemy Pokemon. I'm still uncertain wheter running Toxic or Taunt, but I think the latter is the best pick.

Rotom Wash @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
Evs: 252 Hp / 212 Def / 44 Spd
Bold Nature
- Will o Wisp
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Rest

I'm pretty happy with physical defensive Rotom, it's very good bulk lets me switch it into a lot of things, and gaining momentum with Volt Switch. I am thinking to redistribute the 44 Evs from Speed to Spec. Def, because extra special bulk is always a good thing.

Pinsir @ Pinsirite
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 Sdef
Jolly Nature
- Quick Attack
- Earthquake
- Return
- Swords Dance

Here we are, the star of the team, Mega Pinsir! As said at the beginning of the post, all the team is there to let this monster unleash its strength. The moveset is pretty standard, and so are Evs and nature. I think there is no need of further explaination about this bug.




THREAT LIST:


Obviously any team has his weaknesses, and mine is not an exception. Here's a list of the major threats I found while playing on PS:


- Mega Manectric: Tyranitar 2HKO with -1 Earthquake, and thanks to Assault Vest it can survive multiple Thunderbolts. Excadrill OHKO, even at -1, but it cannot switch in a Flamethrower, because otherwise it's a 2HKO. If Exca is scarfed, then it could switch in, tank a Flamethrower and retaliate with a deadly Earthquake. Unfortunately, Overheat OHKO Excadrill.

- Greninja: The best I can do is sending Rotom, which 2HKO with Volt Switch, but then I have to send another Pokemon on the field, and none of my other members appreciate Greninja attacks.

- Hazards in general: If Deoxys dies (and it WILL die), I have nobody else who can put Stealth Rock down. Moreover, I cannot Rapid Spin enemy hazards away if the opponents has a Ghost in his team.

- WoW/Toxic: If burned, Pinsir is useless. If poisoned, it will die before I manage to sweep. If Pinsir has got one Sword Dance, they are not a problem, because (almost) everything will die before burning/toxic me.

- Gliscor: Tyranitar Ice Beam OHKO, but if Gliscor is behind a substite, then GG to him. Rotom can Rest off the poison, but Gliscor can easily PP stall and let it die to Struggle



These are the first threats I can think of, but I'm sure there are many others that can destroy my team. I hope you guys can help me refine my team, especially for what concerns Ev spreads. Thanks to everyone who will take a minute to help me. Bye!
 
Considering that you have the combination Exca + TTar suggest that the great Sand Rush Excadrill.
And maybe assign the task to him of stealth rock.
If deoxys has Ice beam for fear of Scarfdorus and Scarfchomp can opt for Skarmory instead of Mandibuzz and maybe give him some other azard. In that case, would suffer very much against rotom. Like his counter you put a nice latios or latias that you can not solve, however, many situations! ^ ^ Try and let me know how it goes.
 
Only comment: change mega pinsir from quick attack to x scissors. I dont think u have any effective move for dark type. Also kill it with sweeping move as its defence is weak

I gave Pinsir QA so he can kill weakened faster enemies before they kill him. Also, I didn't understand the "kill it with sweeping" part: what do you mean?
