First OU Team

Hi! This is a pretty solid OU team based around coverage. Nothing special, I just liked it so I wanted to share it! So, it began with me being tired of the sandstorm teams I've been using lately. And I wanted to try out Volcarona because of Quiver Dance and its unique typing. And I also wanted to have

Tentacruel (Male)@ Black Sludge
Trait: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 Hp / 230 Def / 28 Spe
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
• Rapid Spin
• Toxic Spikes/Toxic
• Scald
• Protect

[box]Description:
The "Rapid-Spinner"
With good natural bulk it excels at spinning away hazards from any opposing team! With this set and the EV spread it can easily survive a STAB Earthquake from Landorus-T, it can't take a Choice Specs Thunderbolt from Magnezone and it can't take Choice Specs Psychic from Alakazam. I use Tentacruel to Toxic stall and Rapid Spin any hazards. A good counter to this is Gengar, since it possibly OHKO with Psychic (Life Orb), it isn't affected by Toxic, Rapid Spin doesn't work and Scald will only 3HKO.[/box]

Breloom (Female)@ Life Orb
Trait: Technician
EVs: 4 Hp / 252 Atk / Spe 252
Jolly Nature (+Spe, -SpA)
• Spore
• Bullet Seed
• Mach Punch
• Sword Dance

[box]Description:
The "Fighter"
I utilize the effect of Low Sweep over Mach Punch, because Mach Punch has priority but Low Sweep still does more damage and lowers Speed, so that I can force any weak target to switch out, use Low Sweep and with my full speed and theirs lowered Breloom should be first with Spore so tht I can set-up Sword Dance and without a Choice-item, this could lead to a Sweep. I've been thinking about using a bulk set with Poison Heal, but this worked out better in my opinion.[/box]

Bronzong (Genderless)@ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Hp / 84 Def / 172 SpD
Sassy Nature (+SpD, -Spe)
• Stealth Rock
• Hidden Power [Ice]
• Toxic
• Earthquake

[Box]Description:
The "Tank"
Bronzong is my favorite Pokémon for a reason, it has great coverage moves, descent stats and great typing plus its Ability, Levitate. After Levitate, its only weakness is Fire-type, plus that it has got immunity to Spikes. I decided to run Toxic over Gyro Ball, because the only thing Gyro Ball covers is Ice. So to hit more thing I choose Toxic instead, even if I run Sassy-nature. I run Sassy-nature because I didn't want to lower the Base Power of neither EQ or HP [Ice] and Bronzongs speed is so low, it doesn't matter if it gets lowered. I rather have Bronzong than Metagross, because Metagross dosen't have immunity to Ground-type and it has a lower base SpD, so if it doesn't have Air Ballon, it's OHKO by Expert Belt Landorus-T (EQ), but both of them are OHKO by Fire Blast Heatran.[/box]

Volcarona (Female)@ Leftovers
Trait: Flame Body
EVs: 240 Hp / 216 Def / 52 Spe
Bold Nature
• Quiver Dance
• Bug Buzz
• Fiery Dance
• Roost

[Box]Description:
The "Special Sweeper"
This! This is a pain in the neck! Bulky Volcarona with Quiver Dance. My tactics with Volcarona is switch into any Psychic/Steel to set up Quiver Dance and incase he/she switches into something Physical, I can Roost-stall until they get Burned so that they wont do anything to Volcarona, and then I can safely set up Quiver Dance to get resistance against Special Sweepers too. But beware of any Pokémon with any Rock-type move, so to counter that make sure you are at about +2,5 Spe witch makes you able to outspeed and then you can use Fiery Dance.[/box]

Forslass (Female)@ Leftovers
Trait: Cursed Body
EVs: 248 Hp / 8 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
• Spikes
• Taunt
• Ice Beam
• Destiny Bond

[Box]Description:
The "Spiker"
Wait.. A 110 Base Speed Spin-blocker with Spikes? Oh it's Froslass.
This is my counter to set-up Gliscor and it is my own lead. This set utilizes her amazing base 110 Speed to quickly get up many layers of Spikes. Plus that her Speed with Pain Split and Taunt f**ks up most lead Pokémon. Its amazing how well Froslass can use Pain Split combined with her low Hp stat to easily heal up and continue setting up layers of Spikes. And since this Froslass set has good utility and can be used to Spin-block, it matches my team perfectly since it has Ice Beam too.[/box]

Gliscor (Male)@ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 Hp / 186 Def / 72 Spe
Jolly Nature (+Spe, -SpA)
• Earthquake
• Ice Fang
• Substitute
• Sword Dance

[Box]Description:
The "Offensive Wall"
I think it is sad that not very many team use this set. Using Gliscor is very common but this set is not. And with great utility because of Poison Heal, with this EV spread makes Gliscor a force to br reconed with. EV wise, this set has got good waling potential and can still be a mid-game physical sweeper. Already after 2 Sword Dances this will 2HKO Bold Jellicent and at 1 Sword Dance there is a chance to 2HKO SubDisable Gengar (unless it runs Ice Beam). I decided to not go with the Smogon EV spread because since Sword Dnace lready does a buttload to Gliscors Atk, I thing a more defensive set would suit him better,[/Box]

Please, leave any suggestions for changes and/or weaknesses.

There is only one problem I have with this team: some Pokemons' EV investment. Gliscor has no business running ANY Special Defense EVs as it's Sp.Def is too low that even with investment, it's still at most 2HKO by most Water- and Ice-type attacks. Also, with Gliscor's typing, it doesn't get many resistances on the special side, meaning that even with the investment, you'll still take a hefty chunk from most special attacks. I recommend putting the Special Defense investment into HP and Defense (252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spe).

Same thing with Tentacruel. Not only is 59 a very weird number for EV investment because it's not divisible by 4, but it's also too small to make much of a difference, even with Tenta's excellent base SpD. If you want to live Landorus-T's Earthquakes, I suggest putting the SpD EVs into Defense. Also, switch Bronzong's Defense and Special Defense investments as Tentacruel with be physically bulky.

I see one issue with your team - you lack any sort of priority.

Unless you're awfully attached to it, I would recommend switching Low Sweep on Breloom to Mach Punch. It gets a lot of power from Technician along with a Swords Dance, and Breloom can even be used as a revenge killer with it, just in case you absolutely need to take out something with a lot of boosts (such as a Kyurem-B or low HP Dragonite).

Hey there AzTek Bird you have a solid team here so far, hopefully with this rate the team will be better. First thing I see is you have no priority on the team. So I would suggest running Mach Punch over Low Sweep. You need priority for things like Sash Alakazam as it outspeeds your whole team. Next thing is I would suggest is too use Destiny Bond over Pain Split, as this gives you a way to kill Spinners as they try to kill Froslass.

Good Luck with the team.
