First OU team

Hey, I'm new to OU and I was wondering if I could get someone to help with my team. My team right now is:

Terrakion @ Focus Sash
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Taunt

My lead. Not to much else I really have to say about it aside from that, I kinda just copied a generic set. I'm really liking it though; I've found that it can sweep just as well as it can set up given the right opportunity.

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk
Quiet Nature
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Recover

My special attacker. I chose this over Porygon-Z because of bulk. I'm also using HP Fire over Tri Attack because it counters Steels (particularly Scizor and Ferrothorn) better.

Aegislash (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- King's Shield
- Shadow Sneak
- Sacred Sword

My physical attacker. Nothing too different from standard 'Slash, but I do have EVs in speed over a defensive stat to outspeed other Aegislash.

Mandibuzz (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SDef
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Defog
- Roost
- Toxic

Mixed wall. I'm using Knock Off over Foul Play because of utility, but I have lost matches because it can't deal enough damage and 'Buzz is my only Pokemon left, and the opponent is immune to Toxic.

Sylveon (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Cute Charm
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Moonblast
- Wish
- Heal Bell
- Protect

Utility; also functions as a mixed wall/tank. Its job should be pretty obvious just by looking at the set.

Garchomp (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Crunch

Finally, my revenge killer. I'm debating replacing Crunch or Dragon Claw, but I'm not sure what to use instead.

My current position on the ladder is 1315.

Your descriptions are a bit short of the RMT minimum (3 lines per poke). I suggest adding more bulk and depth to your descriptions before the mods lock this down. The rest of the rules are found here I'll give some of my comments though
  • Porygon2 is quite a versatile poke. The way your EVs are spread out are probably better for an offensive Trick Room set, but I think PorygonZ outclasses him in that area and probably every offensive role in general. Therefore, I suggest running Porygon-Z > Porygon2.
    Porygon-Z @ Lum Berry
    Ability: Adaptability
    EVs: 108 HP / 252 SAtk / 148 Spd
    Modest Nature
    - Tri Attack
    - Shadow Ball / Dark Pulse
    - Nasty Plot / Hidden Power [Fire]
    - Agility
Double Dance PZ is pretty scary. Tri Attack and Shadow Ball are all the moves you need tbh, but HP Fire is there for Ferrothorns and Scizors. 148 Spd puts you at 506 after Agility meaning you outspeed even the great Deo-S.
  • I suggest running Specially Defensive Sylveon over mixed, Pixilate > Cute Charm and Hyper Voice > Moonblast. This allows her to switch in freely on special attacks that would wear down Mandibuzz and tank them easier than mixed.
  • Speaking of Mandibuzz, I suggest running the Physically Defensive set which Mandibuzz is known for. Now that Sylveon can take special attacks, Mandibuzz can focus on the physical side and tank strong physical hits aimed at Sylveon better than a mixed set.
    Mandibuzz @ Leftovers
    Ability: Overcoat
    EVs 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spd
    Impish Nature
    - Foul Play / Knock Off
    - Roost
    - Defog
    - Taunt / Toxic
  • I suggest going mixed on your Scarfchomp. Your team doesn't have a reliable way of removing Ferrothorn and Scizor and running Fire Blast on Chomp gives you at least 1 tool that could dent either
    Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
    Ability: Rough Skin
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
    Naive Nature
    - Outrage
    - Earthquake
    - Stone Edge
    - Fire Blast
Hope I helped and good luck with your team! Update those descriptions!

With Porygon Z, would it be better to keep the BoltBeam set or should I just go with Nasty Plot and Agility? Since PoryZ isn't very bulky I'd rather let it hit hard without having to take too many risks with boosting, and without max speed investment I'm worried it'll be too easy to kill before it can deal any damage.

Also, sorry that the descriptions aren't long enough. I'll try to improve them when I'm back from school.

Hello,

Unfortunately I am going to have to lock this thread for lacking descriptions. Descriptions are extremely helpful to potential raters, offering them insight into why you chose that mon and its moves/EV spreads.

Feel free to pm me your descriptions and I will happily unlock this thread for you.
