First OU Team

Hi!
I'm new to Smogon, and somewhat new to Competitive battling. I made this team a while ago, and have had some good wins on Shoddy, but also a few (crushing) defeats. Most of the time, the defeats were from poor prediction on my part, but I was wondering if it could just be the team. Anyway, here it is:

Swampert@Leftovers
Nature: Impish
EVs: 252 Hp / 6 Atk / 252 Def
Moves:
~Earthquake
~Avalanche
~Stealth Rock
~Roar
Standard. He lays down SR and then either attacks or Roars, depending on the current situation. I usually attack on a Metagross or (uncommon) Mamoswine lead. Roar helps to scout the opponent's team, and helps rack up Stealth Rock damage on the opposing Pokés.

Gengar@Life Orb
Nature: Timid
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Moves:
~Shadow Ball
~Focus Blast
~Thunderbolt
~Will-O-Wisp
Somewhat standard. He picks off people fast, but usually faints when someone faster switches in. I decided to go with Will-O-Wisp over HP Fire/Explosion because I didn't want a loss of SpA or Spe, which would be necessary for both. (Explosion requiring an Atk EV investment and HP Fire requiring an IV deduction.) Will-O-Wisp is also a nasty little surprise for any Gyarados/Tyranitar switch-ins.

Blissey@Leftovers
Nature: Calm
EVs: 252 Def / 80 SpA / 176 SpD
Moves:
~Wish
~Protect
~Toxic
~Flamethrower
Standard. She's gotten me out of some pretty nasty situations. I chose Flamethrower because it can OHKO Scizors, and can help against Lucarios. She is also the perfect wall for Starmies, which I have observed to be very common on Shoddy. I also have used it to heal other teammates to make way for late game sweeps. The only thing it has trouble with is Heatran, which is obvious just by looking at it.

Infernape@Life Orb
Nature: Naive
EVs: 64 Atk / 252 SpA / 192 Spe
Moves:
~Fire Blast
~Close Combat
~Grass Knot
~Hidden Power Ice
Standard. I used this over the Nasty Plot set because Nape will probably never get the chance to set up a Nasty Plot, and because of its type coverage. He hits hard and fast, and nobody I have played against has expected the HP Ice. (Usually switching in either Flygon, Salamence, or Gliscor.)

Metagross@Choice Band
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 Hp / 236 Atk / 12 Def / 8 Spe
Moves:
~Meteor Mash
~Earthquake
~Bullet Punch
~Explosion
This is the one I'm not sure about. I like him because of the sheer power he possesses, and Bullet Punch has saved me a good number of times. The problem is that I rarely use any other move besides BP, even though Meteor Mash is where the most potential lies. I have tried the Scarf set with Meteor Mash, EQ, Thunderpunch, and Ice Punch, and am seriously considering using that instead of this.

Salamence@Life Orb
Nature: Mild
EVs: 84 Atk / 216 SpA / 208 Spe
Moves:
~Draco Meteor
~Outrage
~Fire Blast
~Earthquake
Standard. I usually bring him out for late game sweeps. He is almost always guarunteed a kill with Draco Meteor, and then sweeps with Outrage. Fire Blast is there for Scizors, and Earthquake is there for Heatrans and other ground-weak Pokés. I sometimes bring him in early, but usually just to stop a Gyarados setup if Swampert is down.

So, that's my team. As I said before, it's had some great wins on Shoddy, but I'd like to know if I could be doing a bit better than I am now. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I think you have a pretty good team so I'll comment on this team to keep thethread going. I recommend you switch Metagross with a ScarfJirachi that runs T-Punch and Ice Punch in order to revenge kill DD Gyara and possibly DD Mence.

Thanks Karma, I'll consider Jirachi. As for Starmie, Blissey helps to deal with him most of the time. (Usually the opponent switches him out after Blissey comes out, and ends up sending him out only at the end of the battle.) If he's not scarved though, I'm pretty sure the Scarved Metagross could outspeed and revenge kill him.

After a Dragon Dance or 2, your team is destroyed by Gyarados. Nothing can effectively revenge kill it. Changing Blissey to a Rotom-h set with T-bolt, Shadow Ball, Overheat, and Wow with 252 hp / 168 def / 88 speed spread with bold nature.

Next I suggest running HP fire on Gengar. Your team can't really stop Scizor at all besides Swampert who still takes a lot from a CB uturn. The speed drop really doesn't effect Gengar that much too.

Thanks for your help Macle! I'll try replacing the Pokés you recommended and switching some things around. Any other comments would be much appreciated.
