First OU Team

I'd like to make this very clear: this is literally the first competitive team I've made. I have a pretty thorough understanding of the game, but a first timer is bound to make mistakes, right? Just try not to bash me too much; any and all suggestions are appreciated.

bronzong.png

Pokemon: Bronzong
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Brave (+Attack/-Speed)
EV's: 252 HP, 100 Defense, 100 Special Defense, 52 Attack
Item: Leftovers

Moveset:
-Hypnosis
-Stealth Rock
-Gyroball
-Earthquake

My opener and my main wall, as wall as my stealth rock user. I experimented with a slightly different nature/EV spread than the typical wall, I'm considering keeping the nature the same and changing the EV's to 252hp/120def/120spdef/12atk but I'm not entirely sure.

scizor.png

Pokemon: Scizor
Ability: Technician
Nature: Adamant (+Attack/-Special Attack)
EV's:176 HP / 100 Attack / 176 Special Defense / 56 Speed
Item: Life Orb

Moveset:
-Bullet Punch
-Pursuit
-U-Turn
-Roost

Scizor has always been one of my favorites just because it's always looked like a badass; but after reading up on him he definitely seems like a top contender. I guess this would be my physical sweeper/revenge killer/Scout. The EV's are taken straight from Smogon's dex; if anyone has found something that has worked better for them, please let me know.

blissey.png

Pokemon: Blissey
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Modest (+Special Attack/-Attack)
EV's:148 HP / 252 Defense / 108 Special Attack
Item: No Clue! Leftovers is the suggested but I really think it is better used on Bronzong, and even if it isn't, what would I move onto Bronzong?

Moveset:
-Thunder Wave
-Ice Beam
-Softboil
-Wish

I need a wish user to help out Bronzong (or anyone really) and Blissey just seemed like a beast. Not to mention she'll make a great partial special sweeper.

infernape.png

Pokemon: Infernape
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Hasty (+Speed/-Defence)
EV's: 64 Attack / 252 Special Attack / 192 Speed
Item: I don't really know what to put on a mixed attacker and I think the life orb can be better used.

Moveset:
-Nasty Plot
-Flamethrower
-Close Combat
-Grass Knot

This entire thing is pretty much taken straight from Smogon's MixApe just because I like it so much. My main problem is with the item. I'm also considering making this either a dedicated physical sweeper or special sweeper, thoughts?

azelf.png

Pokemon: Azelf/Gengar
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid (+Speed/-Attack)
EV's: 4 HP / 252 Special Attack / 252 Speed
Item: Wise Glasses (I don't like the idea of the choice items, being stuck to using one skill is unappealing to me, if I'm understanding the item wrong, someone please correct me)

Moveset:
-Thunder Bolt
-Psychic
-Surf
-Nasty Plot

I'm 90% sure I'll be going with Azelf here, just better all around better stats.

tyranitar.png

Pokemon: Tyranitar
Ability: Sand Stream
Nature: Jolly (+Speed/-Special Attack)
EV's: 6 HP / 252 Attack / 252 Speed
Item: Was considering a Razor Fang to increase flinch rate on Crunch (but don't know if it stacks, I know King's Rock doesn't), but this is the other contender for that amazing Life Orb; dilemmas, dilemmas.

Moveset:
-Crunch
-Stone Edge
-Aqua Tail
-Dragon Dance

My second physical sweeper, yet another taken straight from Smogon's dex. I'm considering throwing in earthquake somewhere (either replacing Crunch or Stone Edge)

As for a threat list, I don't really know. I don't see any glaring weaknesses but I've also never competitively played (I'm still making the team in game, not using a simu).
Thanks for taking the time to read; if you are going to take the time to comment and rage me, please at least help me by correcting any mistakes I've made while you do so.

I'm fairly sure Azelf does not learn Surf.

I would change Bronzong to a Swampert. You already have steel, and you will have a hard time coming into CBTtar or Choiced Heatran. This does some work in patching up these holes

Swampert@Leftovers
Impish
240 HP/216 Def/52 Atk
EQ
Avalanch
Roar/Waterfall
Stealth Rock

Physically based so it can actually hurt Latias.

On Blissey I would use this set.

Blissey@Leftovers
Natural Cure
252 Def/40 SpA/216 SpD
Ice Beam/Thunderbolt/Flamethrower
Toxic/Thunderwave
Softboiled/Protect
Wish

Basically, the HP EVs you add to Blissey don't really make as big a difference as they could in other defensive stats because Blissey's HP is already so high. The strong special threats of platinum mean that 216 SpD is really helpful, although I've seen people get away with 176 SpD.

As for Ttar, I consider DDTar without Babiri Berry or Magnezone with all the Scizor around. I would instead use a Bulky CB set, which helps you take Latias a little better.

Anyway, those are just changes to your builds. I'm too tired to change the structure right now (It's almost 4:00 am), but I'll be sure to help later. Good luck.

@Star:
You're right about Azelf, I don't know what I was thinking there.

The Blissey I'm actually thinking about going Bold and making it a def and spdef wall (especially I get rid of Bronzong).

As for Swampert, would investing into speed be worth it? Especially since if I'm considering Latias as a threat.

I've managed to put this team fully together and actually play with it and, as much as it isn't terrible, it isn't all that great. This team is more than likely just going to be scrapped, and I'm already in the process of forming another one. I'll still gladly take any advice people can offer.

on Blissey's set replace T Wave with Toxic and ice beam with flamethrower.
Also you can have Aromatherapy/Heal Bell on Blissey instead of wish because your team seems to cripple from paralysis. On your Scizor, replace life orb with choice band and change Roost or change the move set. 1 more thing, Roar and whirlwind ruin your sweepers.

@Quick
The Blissey set is going to be changed to something more along these lines:
Blissey@leftovers
Bold
252hp/252def/6spatk
-Ice Beam
-Softboil
-Stealth Rock
-Thunder Wave

I think paralysis is a more crippling status than poison. And Aromatherapy was another consideration but I'd either have to take out Ice Beam (not going to happen), my status (also not going to happen), or Stealth Rock (In which case I need to make a SR user).

As for Scizor, I know that Choice Band is a much better choice but I don't like the thought of being stuck on one move (unless I switch out) and having the Life Orb makes Roost rather valuable.

As for your last remark, I don't really know how to get past something like Roar or Whirlwind, how do I make myself less susceptible to that?
