First Post, First RMT...for me on this board...=D

I've been lurking in these forums for about, give or take 3-4 months now. So I decided to register and submit my own team =) I'm not really great with all these counters and seeing what kills teams without actually testing the team, so I don't know what kills this team. =/

Gengar and Mesprit are vital to the team, spreading out status and Mesprit's Imprisoning of Ice Beam can let Torterra come out on a sp. sweeper.

Torkoal@ Leftovers
Careful
148 HP/ 218 ATK/ 68 Def/76 Sp. Def

Will-o-Wisp
Stealth Rock
Explosion
Curse

It will just Stealth Rock and W-o-W whatever is up. If it lasts past that, I'll curse up and explode... there are better options for a W-o-Wer or Stealth rocker, but Torkoal is my favorite poke =). It's orange and its a turtle.

Gengar@ Leftovers
Modest
52 HP/ 200 Spd/ 252 Sp. Atk

Shadow Ball
T-Bolt
Will-o-Wisp
Hypnosis

It should out speed the an adamant Landshark with 252 speed EVs (Can someone tell me how the speed actually works? When will it be a garuntee first strike?) and hit it with WoW or Hypnosis. Hopefully, I can WoW/ Sleep a few pokemon before I have to switch out/faint. Shadow Ball for STAB.

Porygon Z@ Life Orb
Timid
152 HP/100 Def/244 Spd/8 Sp.Atk

Scheme
T-Bolt
Ice Beam

Also should out speed an Adamant 252 speed EVed Landshark. Pretty much the standard Porygon Z.

Mesprit@ Leftovers
Modest
70 Hp/40 Spd/200 Sp.Atk/200 Sp.Def

Imprison
Thunder-Wave
Grass Rope/ T-Bolt?
Ice Beam

Cripples sweepers via T-Wave and kills the electric immune with Grass Rope or Ice Beam. Grass Rope is really only for Swampert and Rhyperior, so I'm wondering if it would be better to swap it for T-Bolt. Ice Beam takes care of the Land Shark and with Imprison, it will let in Torterra into the fray on a Sp. Sweeper...hopefully. *Imagines Starmie having HP Ice instead of Ice Beam*

Lucario@ Expert Belt
Jolly
4 HP/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spd

Swords Dance
In-Fight
Shadow Claw
Extreme Speed

I got lazy by here -.- Evs probably told you that off the bat. This is just to kill off that Bliss that keeps using Aromatherapy. I got tired of lefties, so I switched to the expert belt =/

Torterra@ Leftovers
Adamant
148 HP/40 ATK/252 DEF/70 Sp. DEF

Leech Seed
Wood Hammer
Rock Edge
Synthesis

Seed, Swords on the switch. Leech Seed should kind of balance Wood Hammer. I'm kind of iffy with Rock Edge. It takes care of the flyers, but earthqueake is 150 base with stab and kills off electrics and the fire ape.

Change Torkoal for Ninetails?

Ninetails
Modest
(No EVs yet)
Energy Ball
Will-o-Wisp
Flamethrower
Scheme

Thanks in advanced =)

EDIT: There were some minor grammer mistakes.

Imprison stops working when you switch out iirc, and your PoryZ only has three moves. There is also no reason for Gengar to be Mild, it has no physical attacks so it should be Modest or Timid.

I think you need to brush up on the basics before posting teams =(

Please take Surgo's advice (in the "Sweeping is my best area..." thread)about thinking through your own team for a while before posting it. I like that you clearly outlined the rationale behind each pokemon, but your team is actually (please excuse me for saying something that may sound extremely mean) rather poor.

Torcoal and Torterra are both considered to be fairly outclassed by standards. What were you looking for when you made them? If you were looking for making Torcoal good, specifically include it in a UU team. Sorry. If you wanted a good grass type in Torterra, go with sceptile in most cases, Roserade in others. If you were looking for a good ground type, go with Rhyperior, unless you want a stat-up move, in which case you should use Curse Hippowdon.

I like what you've done to encourage your Torterra to sweep, but I just don't think that it's feasible.

All things considered though, I must admit that your Mesprit would give the team that I was considering posting some problems. Back to my calculator and my pen and paper... <:{

EDIT: On second thought, just skip using Torterra as anything resembling a sweeper, including your set ups. Porygon3 and Lucario should have an easy enough time sweeping anyway.

;_; Torterra is probably the best Grass type available, better than Sceptile or Roserade. The only pokemon reasonably analogous to it is Tangrowth, who doesn't get STAB Earthquake, is slower, and has worse Special Defense. Also, Torterrra is the best Tyranitar counter in the game, which he desprately needs.

x] I have no idea how I got mild on Gengar and only 3 moves on Porygon-Z. That was a horrible mistake/typo or whatever it was.

Yeah, I kind of knew my team sucked. xD Even after a week of acutal planning. But now, should I just completely scrap this team, or just make major overhauls to this?

If so, I know I'm going to have to kick out Torkoal ._.

But for whom? I was thinking of Ninetails with Energy Ball, Scheme, Hypnosis, Flamethrower and giving Stealth Rock to Torterra. Or should Torterra just become a curser? (or does this count as a make me a team type thing?)

Thanks in advanced =)
