I'll get to the point: I made an original team that made it this high (it's nothing too impressive, though), and I decided to amend it. It's been working out okay so far.
Anyways, I will provide both the original team and the modified one, later on.
Note: I attempted to make one of those drop-down menus (the ones where you can close and open them), but I couldn't figure out how. If you know how, I would appreciate it if you would tell me.
Teambuilding Process
Started with Diancie: Powerful, kinda quick (only after Mega Evolving, which is annoying), and 2-shotting most non-Steel types or non-Chansey enemies.
Followed up with Rotom-W: Doesn't fear too many Steel-types (bar Ferrothorn), and is a nice pivot. It can also deal with bulky Ground-types fairly well.
Followed up with Garchomp: Don't touch him, or you'll regret it. Rocky Helmet and Rough Skin variant.
Changed to Landorus-T: Patches the previous Mold Breaker Excadrill weakness I had – can still do well with a Rocky Helmet.
Followed up with Jirachi: With a Choice Scarf, it can deal with Fairy-types fairly well, and gives out Trick and Healing Wish support.
Changed to Heatran: Can still switch into Fairy-types and can retaliate with Flash Cannon. Also has Taunt and Toxic for anti-Stall teams (f### them), and deals with Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn fairly well, something my previous team was not very capable of.
Follwed up with Latios: Defogs stuff, and nukes the enemy team with Draco Meteor freely – unless the Tyranitar or Fairy switch-in is obvious.
Followed up with Weavile: Deals with Tyranitar, bulky Psychic-types, Dragon, and Ground-types.
Team descriptions:
Dendritis (Diancie) @ Diancite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 32 Atk / 224 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Moonblast
- Diamond Storm
- Earth Power
- Protect
Dendritis is Latin for "precious stone;" I will change the nickname whenever I think of a better one.
It 2HKOs most non-resisting enemies, and OHKOs those weak to its moves or that are too frail. However, it can't switch in too often, as it is fragile, and even resisted hits can do a sizable chunk.
Moonblast and Diamond Storm are STAB moves and deal lotsa damage, while Earth Power hits Steel-types. Protect is used to Mega Evolve safely, see what Choiced enemies are gonna do, and all that jazz. Protect kills momentum if the opponent doesn't attack, but that can't be helped, unfortunately.
32 Atk EVs OHKO Zapdos after Stealth Rock, 252 Spe and Naive Nature let Diancie be fast as possible and don't hinder its attacking stats, and the rest go to Special Attack.
Meow! (Landorus-Therian) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 8 SpD / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock
Landorus, the dog, naturally warrants the name "meow."
It is my only real check to Mega Charizard X, as people like to use Earthquake over Roost. Stone Edge is useful for anti-bird spam, while Stealth Rock is useful on an offense team like this one. U-turn for momentum – don't use U-turn versus people with Rocky Helmet.
EVs maximise physical bulk, while providing the ability to take an HP Ice from Mega Manectric at full health. 8 Speed EVs let him outspeed Modest Magnezone.
H2OP (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
It's not OP, and probably never will be – its stats aren't overly impressive, and this Rotom is a bit too passive for my liking.
Nonetheless, he's a third anti-bird spam measure and stop to Steel-type attackers like Mega Metagross. It's also my only real check to Azumarill, but that is easily worked around. It's only my only switch-in to Keldeo besides Latios (who loses to Icy Wind).
Volt Switch for momentum, Hydro Pump weakens if not kills cheeky Ground-types trying to block my Volt Switch, Will-O-Wisp decommissions Azumarill, Mega Metagross, Jirachi, and Mega Scizor, and Pain Splits gives health back.
CoolRunnings (Heatran) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 188 SpD / 68 Spe
Calm Nature
-Magma Storm Lava Plume
- Toxic
- Taunt
- Flash Cannon
It's named after what I think is a good movie, Cool Runnings. That plus the irony – wynaut?
Anyways, I originally ran Magma Storm so that I could trap, then Toxic+Taunt members on Stall teams. However, I started using Lava Plume, because Magma Storm would miss 7/8 times, even with Wide Lens. IDK if switching is a good choice or not. Maybe I should try Fire Blast?
Toxic + Taunt help out vs. stall, and get that ever-b####y Chansey out of the way (please ban it. JK.).
Flash Cannon is used so that Heatran can fight Fairy-types such as Clefable and Mega Gardevoir (Mega Gardevoir can only 2HKO Heatran with Focus Blast, allowing Flash Cannon to connect and for a teammate to finish the job). It is also an attacking option vs. enemy Latios.
Psy Fly (Latios) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Defog
-Hidden Power Fire Roost
The name sucks, but I got a rhyming game going, so might as well.
Draco Meteor is a good move to use, unless a Fairy/Steel-type or Tyranitar are looking to prey on Latios. Psyshock is for dealing with Mega Venusaur, Amoonguss, and all that jazz.
Defog is normal – it clears Spikes and Sticky Web and stuff. I chose Roost over Hidden Power Fire so that I could repeatedly check Keldeo.
Dead of Night (Weavile) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard
- Low Kick
Name is cheesy, but at least it makes sense – I think.
Knock Off is pretty powerful on non-resists, and removes items. It can easily weaken (not Mega) Slowbro and (not Mega) Lati@s . Icicle Crash kills off Dragon and Ground-types, Ice Shard picks off a weakened Dragonite who has set up Dragon Dance or something. Same for Zygarde and Haxorus and all that jazz.
Low Kick eliminates Bisharp, Tyranitar and Kyurem, and provides good coverage overall. It worked out better than Poison Jab, Pursuit, Brick Break, and all that.
Afterthoughts (feel free to skip):
I tried Choice Scarf Latios, as it is able to deal with Mega Lopunny and Mega Alakazam okay, except that Tyranitar completely destroys it if Latios is stuck with Psyshock. It is also noticeably less powerful than the Life Orb variant.
I tried Cofagrigus, as it can deal with Azumarill, Medicham, Lopunny, Scizor, and Swift Swim/Sand Rush users okay (Mummy removes Huge Power, Scrappy, Technician, etc.). However, it is too slow offensively, as Trick Room inhibits the rest of my team, while defensively, its typing proved to be a bit of a liability and it was too passive.
Threats:
Bulky Mega Scizor cannot be beaten with anyone on my team – no Fire-types can deal with it. Same for Ferrothorn. Heatran solves this.
Mold Breaker Choice Scarf Excadrill is only countered by Garchomp, who is easily worn down. Landorus-T solves this, except that he too is easily worn down.
Ironically, Diancie performs well vs. this team, as Earth Power kills off Heatran and my Diancie, while it 2HKOs everything else. It's GG if Latios or Weavile can't kill it off and if Landorus-T and Rotom-W are weakened. This wasn't too much of a problem when Jirachi was around.
I have no switch-ins for Kyurem and its Black version – I can only revenge-kill it, which is preventable. Choice Scarf versions can also outspeed and kill off Latios, Diancie, and Weavile. (I met a Choice Scarf Kyurem once, which is why it's here.)
Annoyances (not threats):
Mega Lopunny can be worn down, but that's really about it – I have no real switch-ins to it, except maybe Landorus-T. He gets put down if Lopunny has Ice Punch, though. Lopunny stomps on a lot of teams. Mega Medicham also runs Bullet Punch a lot (makes sense, Bullet Punch is its only priority), which obliterates Diancie. (F### Mega Medicham.)
Mega Gardevoir is only countered by Heatran, which gets obliterated by Focus Blast.
It's kinda cute, but also deadly. Latios is my only true switch-in to this guy, except that he could be Spored and stuff. Diancie could revenge kill it, but it doesn't like taking a Mach Punch and especially not a Bullet Seed.
Mega Alakazam outspeeds everyone on my team, and my only switch-in is Heatran, who is again obliterated with Focus Blast. He's so fast and powerful – my entire team can be picked off by this guy with prior damage, as he is outsped by no one on my team and my only priority is Ice Shard. (F### Mega Alakazam.)
This brony is only countered with Latios, who loses if Keldeo uses Icy Wind. Diancie can revenge kill it, though, if it doesn't have a Choice Scarf. (F### Keldeo.)
Hard stall: click X. I don't have the patience for you. (F### stall.)
Mega Manectric runs circles around the team and deals massive damage. It's a huge pain in the a## for me – only Heatran can come even close to 1v1ing it. (F### Mega Manectric.)
Chansey is physically bulky thanks to Eviolite, and walls the f### out of everyone on my team. (F### Chansey.)
Replays
Trust me, I had some good moments with this team. It's just that I didn't bother to save them -_-. Oh well, I saved the more ridiculous ones, so have a laugh.
LOW LADDER:
