First of all, I don't play Shoddy, so there are some changes I can't easily do, like changing a Hidden Power, or teaching different egg moves. Other than that, the number of battles I've won with this team are exactly 3; two of which were stalled to boredom, so this team screams "I need help".
Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252sp.def/ 132def/ 126hp
Nature: Sassy
- Stealth Rock
- Charge Beam
- Hidden Power [ice]
- Explosion
Bronzong is my lead and will set up Stealth Rock. After Stealth Rock, he's pretty much done, and will attempt to boost my stat with Charge Beam. Hidden Power is there to land a super effective blow on Salamence, as well as having at least nuetral type coverage on anything with Hidden Power+Charge Beam. Explosion is there for obvious reasons, to explode when I'm finished.
Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 def/ 252hp/ 6spd
Nature: Jolly
- Spikes
- Roost
- Brave Bird
- Roar
I think this is the EV spread......I dunno, I've used her for such a long time I forgot(but I'm certain about the defense). Anyway, after Bronzong is done with at least Stealth Rock, Skarmory comes out to play and tries to get the three layers of Spikes. Jolly is there for the speed boost, but I know there can be better natures for a Skarmory. Brave Bird is for damage. The recoil is usually mostly taken care of by Leftovers, but Roost can take care of the recoil as well as for healing(which is its main purpose). Roar can rack up passive damage, but it's mainly for stopping stat gains. Spikes doesn't get set up as often as I like, because the thing that causes Bronzong to switch out is usually something that has a fire move, so Skarmory can't switch out.
Tyranitar @ Life Orb
Ability: Sandstream
EVs: 255atk/ 164spd/ 91hp
Nature: Jolly
- Rock Polish
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Pursuit
T-tar probably should lead, but I decided I want Stealth Rock over Sandstorm since Sandstorm is usually just healed by Leftovers. He is one of my sweepers with 164 speed to achieve at least 200 speed, and 400 with Rock Polish. Stone Edge is for a powerful STAB move, and so is Crunch. Pursuit is there to catch fleeing foes, but I've found little use for this and I'm considering Earthquake as a replacement.
Cradily @ Leftovers
Ability: Suction Cups
EVs: 205hp/ 205def/ 100sp.def
Nature: Bold
- Toxic
- Confuse Ray
- Recover
- Grass Knot
Cradily can wall physical attacks and recieves a boost in special defense from Sandstorm, but he's not here for walling. He is my staller. Confuse Ray is there to stop most attacks from happening with Toxic working to dwindle down their health as well. Recover is for, well, recovery. Grass Knot is for damage, but mostly for heavy enough waters.
Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 252atk/ 252spd/ 6hp
Nature: Naive
- Close Combat
- Blaze Kick
- Crunch/ Ice Punch
- Agility/ Extreamspeed
Lucario will use Agility and sweep, however, I find it hard to get the chance to use Agility and I'm considering using Extreamspeed because my team badly needs priority. But when the chance does come that I use it, it's been like a miracle worker for me! I just don't know what to do with that. Blaze Kick is for hitting things like Bronzong and the super-popular Scizor for super effective damage. Crunch is there for type coverage. I'd like Ice Punch, but I don't have Platinum, so oh well.
Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252sp.def/ 252hp/ 6def
Nature: Brave
- Waterfall
- Curse
- Rest
- Sleep talk
Swampert is my solution to Zapdos, Heatran, fire pokemon, and water pokemon. 252 sp.def EVs because Curse will take care of the defense. Swampert can also be a good status absorber with Rest and Sleep talk. Waterfall is just for STAB, I use it because not very effective hits are better than a "doesn't affect"(I'm talking about Salamence).
I'm considering a Gliscor for this team to Baton Pass Agility/ Rock Polish to Lucario and T-tar and for walling Heracross and its evil Close Combat. Other than that, please help with my team.
Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252sp.def/ 132def/ 126hp
Nature: Sassy
- Stealth Rock
- Charge Beam
