First RMT for Smogon Peaked 1700

This is my first RMT for smogon I know people here are probably the most experienced for rating teams so that is why I am posting my team here first. I use to battle competitively alot during Gen 4 and skipped Gen 5 due to the fact that I lost interest with being in college and such. The reason why I want to RMT now is because I've done testing it on pokemon showdown and was wondering if anything could be better before I actually make it on my team. This team had posted around 1700 ranking before the set was reset.

Ok now the team building Process
Ok so for this team I really wanted to test out a special Mega Lucario why just because its one of the best megas out there now. I picked mega lucario because it has both good special attack and speed once it mega evolves.

So my choice now was to cover his weaknesses and I have seen many people use the mega Lucario and Talonflame combo so I thought I might as well give it a try

Now it was time to pick my defensive walls for this team so the first wall that I picked was Mandibuzz because of her defensive bulkiness and the use defog to get entry hazards away from my team. Now that I had a defensive wall I need a special defensive wall this pick was easy to me because I have used this poke before on one of my gen 4 teams and was eager to use it again. I am talking about porygon2 I loved this pokemon as a wall and decided to use it as my defensive wall this gen and see how it goes.

Now was the choice of what to get now for this team so what I decided was to just use a lead pokemon instead of trying to figure out something else and not knowing who to lead with half the time. So my choice for this matter was Sableye because I already had two walls that can toxic and parahax so wanted something to get a burn off and to taunt other leading pokemon.

Now that I had an almost build team I didn't really know what to use as another sweeper as I already had 2 and a half walls. For this choice I just kinda picked something and this choice was choice specs Latios.

Well that is how I decided my team and this was the final team that I had used to practice with before I finally make it actually in my game

Alright so here it goes here is how my team is set up
302Sableye.png

Sableye@Leftovers
Calm Nature
Prankster Ability
252HP/252Spdef/4def
Will-O-Wisp
Taunt
Recover
Night Shade

So this is the standard lead for sableye I just get him to come out and taunt whatever lead the other person may send out so they can't get hazards off. After that I either Will-o-Wisp the lead or the other pokemon that the other person may send out. Recover is there to get some health back if I take damage from something. Night shade is just there to do some damage if needed.

mega_lucario.png

Lucario@Lucarionite
Timid Nature
Justified Ability
252spatt/252speed/4hp
Nasty Plot
Vacuum Wave
Dark Pulse
Flash Cannon

My main sweeper on this team. I usually try to send him in on something that can take attacks from this guy then try to set up a nasty plot then try to sweep. Vacuum Wave is there as a priority move which is always nice. Dark pulse is there for any ghost that tries to come in and thinks that I can't do any damage to them. Flash Cannon has been kinda on the fence because its both STAB and coverage that I don't have so for me I've been trying to decide on either Flash Cannon or Aura Sphere so help will be apprenticed on this situation.

talonflame_by_wolframclaws-d68qceu.png

Talonflame@Choice Band
Adament Nature
Gale Wings Ability
252att/252speed/4hp
Brave Bird
Flare Blitz
U-Turn
Roost

HAHA OMG this thing has been fun to use. I have swept many a team with this monster. Anyway this is a standard set so I shouldn't have to explain much Brave Bird and Flare Blitz is there for Stab. I use U-Turn if I can predict a switch that he can't take and roost is there just cause I needed a 4th move.
mandibuzz.jpg

Mandibuzz@Rocky Helmet
Bold Nature
Overcoat Ability
252HP/140Def/116Speed
Toxic
Defog
Foul Play
Roost

Now you maybe looking at this set and say WTF is this wish I could post the meme but whatever. I actually stole this set from ShadyPenguinn on youtube I kinda liked it so I decided to use it. Now the Evs are set up so I can outspeed most pokes to get a roost off cause this thing has 80 base speed which is nothing to laugh at. The rest is but into defense and HP for obvious reasons. I had chose bold nature to get better damage with foul play. Defog is there to try to get entry hazards away that the other team may get off. Toxic is there to get some damage off over time and roost is there to try and get some health back after time. Rocky helmet is there as well when I have to face other walls such as Skarmory, Ferrothorn and Forretress.

Porygon2@Evolite
Calm Nature
Trace Ability
252HP/252Spdef/4Spatt
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Recover
Thunder Wave

What can I say about this guy with Evolite equipped this thing is one heck of a wall and can tank almost any hit. This is my special wall so I use a calm nature and trace ability is awesome can wreck some teams by taking their abilities. This is the standard BoltBeam set up can hit almost anything except heatran :/. Thunder Wave is slow down fast pokemon and recover is there to heal up after taking a couple of hits

Latios@Choice Specs
Timid Nature
Levitate Ability
252Spatt/252Speed/4HP
Thunderbolt
Psyshock
Draco Meteor
Hidden Power Fire

Latios was kinda of a last minute decision when I couldn't figure out what to bring to the team. This is the usual Choice specs set. Thunderbolt hits water types that think they can come in and hit me with ice beam. Psyshock and Draco Meteor are there for some good STAB moves I wanted to use psyshock to try and hit special defensive walls that think they can come in and wall me. Finally hidden power fire is there to hit steel types that try to wall me.

Well that is it for this team I'm open to suggestions just trying to make this team better so I am open to almost anything. Would also like to thank anyone that looks at my team and for taking the time out of your day to help me with this.

I want to say that Azumarill gives you some trouble since three out of your six pokemon are Fairy-weak. If you choose Aura Sphere over Flash Cannon, then your Lucario is going to have some trouble against Fairies. Granted, Flash Cannon doesn't have great type coverage, but it does hit the aforementioned Aquabunny for neutral damage, which, when coupled with Adaptability, should make Azumarill users think twice about coming-in indiscriminately, but I think Superpower OHKO's Lucario either way from any Azumarill (not just Choice Band).

No Choice Band Waterfall:
252+ Atk Huge Power Azumarill Waterfall vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Lucario: 178-210 (63.3 - 74.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Choice Waterfall:
+1 252+ Atk Huge Power Azumarill Waterfall vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Lucario: 265-313 (94.3 - 111.3%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO

You do have that sexy Porygon 2 and Latias at least has Thunderbolt, but Latios' Tbolt only has an 18% chance to OHKO Azumarill while Play Rough is always a OHKO on Latios WITHOUT choice band. Even Porygon 2 is not safe: Thunderbolt is only a 3HKO and Azumarill:

Choice Superpower:
+1 252+ Atk Huge Power Azumarill Superpower vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Porygon2: 348-410 (93 - 109.6%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO

so any suggestions on any pokemon that needs to be swapped or moveset changes that I could make?

Hmmm. The problem is that there really isn't any one good Azumarill counter...something that could switch -in to a predicted Choice Band Aqua Jet would be helpful. I have difficulty suggesting unbreedable pokemon like Bold Zapdos, but anything that can switch-into Aqua Jet or Waterfall and hit with a super-effective move is your best bet. Amoongus, Rotom-Washingmachine, these are both good choices, but I think Tentacruel is your best bet. Adding Tentacruel to your squad would add some excellent bulk and since you have three earthquake-immune squadmates, this ground weakness is of no consequence.

The problem is that I have no clue who you would remove--it seems like you are comfortable with your team the way it is now. Test out Modest or Calm Tentacruel in place of either Mandibuzz, Porygon, or Latios--the choice of nature is honestly whether you want it to survive a hit or two longer or to kill harder. Tentacruel can take every single move Azumarill gives it and hits super-effectively with Sludge X:
Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
-Scald
-Ice Beam
-Rapid Spin/Knock off
-Sludge Wave/Sludge Bomb

Just test it out. If you hate it, go back to what you had.

I DO recommend Aura Sphere over Vacuum Wave though. The pokemon you will be using your fighting move against will mostly be slower than Timid 252 Speed Lucario except maybe Jolly Sandstorm Sandrush Excadrill and 160 base power Aura Sphere is something to fear even at neutral damage (factoring Adaptability).

Once again--check it out and see for yourself.

Thanks ill give it a shot ill switch mandibuzz since If I switch it for something else ill have an electric weakness and will try aura sphere on lucario it is pretty fast and get what you are saying
