First RMT in a while.

I spent a good amount of time playing on the ladder yesterday using this team, and it works pretty well. I'm open to suggestions of course.

Houndoom @ Focus Sash
Early Bird
Nature: Timid
EVs: 40 HP / 252 SpAt / 216 Spe
Counter
Protect
Taunt
Fire Blast/Flamethrower

Anti-Lead Houndoom. Counter-Sash destroys Gyarados leads, and other CB users. Sort of a one-trick pony, because Stealth Rock makes it so he can't switch in again. But if he does his job right, they won't get SR up because of Taunt. Protect is good for scouting and protection against Azelf and Bronzong explosions, should they decide to do that. The only lead it has a real problem with is Heatran.

Skarmory @ Shed Shell
Keen Eye
Nature: Impish
EVs: 252 HP / 96 At / 156 Def / 4 Spe
Roost
Brave Bird
Stealth Rock
Whirlwind

We all know Skarmory. I'm using Stealth Rock because it's hard to find time to set up three layers of spikes these days with all these Heatran running around. I haven't seen a lot of Magnezone recently, so I'm thinking of switching to Leftovers. Anyway, this bird has saved me a lot.

171.png

Lanturn @ Leftovers
Volt Absorb
Nature: Calm
EVs: 40 HP / 192 SpA / 240 SpD / 36 Spe
Thunderbolt
Surf
Toxic
Ice Beam

Blissey? Pah. This guy's just as annoying. Great coverage, and Toxic screws over a lot. He outspeeds base 70 Pokemon, and the SpAt lets him OHKO most Salamence with Ice Beam. Not that I'd switch her directly into them though.

289.png

Slaking @ Choice Scarf
Truant
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 At / 120 Def / 136 Spe
Earthquake
Shadow Claw
Ice Punch
Fire Punch

504 Attack from something this fast is scary. Earthquake and Ice Punch are obvious. Shadow Claw hits all those ghosts and psychics, and Fire Punch hits Scizor. He OHKOs most things, and he's really really bulky. The analysis says that the Def EVs can allow him to survive Garchomp's SD'd Outrage. That doesn't matter as much anymore, but still that makes him pretty defensive. Protect Blissey has screwed me over a lot though.

254.png

Sceptile @ Choice Specs
Overgrow
Nature: Modest
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Grass Knot
HP Ice
Leaf Storm
Focus Blast

Specstile. Leaf Storm hits a lot really hard. Uh... Not much else to say. I might switch to Timid to at least tie with Dugtrio and always outspeed Starmie. Focus Blast OHKOs Scizor.

297.png

Hariyama @ Leftovers
Thick Fat
Nature: Impish
EVs: 76 HP / 252 Atk / 180 Def
Focus Punch
Substitute
Payback
Ice Punch

Last but ohoho, definatly not least, Sub Punching Hariyama. Payback is awesome, and works well with the set. Focus Punch is just awesome on him. Ice Punch, of course, is for Dragons and fliers. (I'll see this guy bumped up to OU even if it kills me.) A great counter to Tyranitar and Dusknoir. Heatran also to an extent, but Specs fire blast did over 50% to me.

THREAT DOWN
Scizor- Houndoom, Slaking, Hariyama, (And Specstile can OHKO with Focus Blast)
Tyranitar- Houndoom (If Counter works) Slaking, Skarmory, Hariyama
Heatran- Lanturn, Slaking, Hariyama
Skymin- Slaking, Sceptile
Zapdos- Lanturn, Slaking
Lucario- Slaking, Skarmory, Hariyama
Gengar- Slaking, Hariyama
Ninjask- Skarmory
Salamence- Skarmory, Slaking, Hariyama
Roserade- Houndoom, Slaking
Metagross- Skarmory, Slaking, Houndoom
Porygon-Z- Hariyama
Dusknoir- Hariyama
Infernape- Houndoom, Slaking
Starmie- Lanturn
Bronzong- Houndoom
Breloom- Skarmory

And much more.
The only problems I've noticed are Celebi and Gyarados.

First off, Lantern is one of the most annoying things in the game =[. I really like your team, the only problem I would have is slaking. His turn of not moving will mean your opponent could get setup a little easier. I personally haven't used him to a great extent, so if this isn't as big a problem as it seems, then by all means keep him. But if you replace him, and want to keep the idea of a strong physical attacker, you could try scarf salamence.

Just an idea, good luck with your team ^_^
