ORAS OU First RMT (Mega Altaria)

Hello, I'm new to team building. I've only ever watched Wi-Fi battles on YouTube and very recently started playing Pokemon Showdown. This is my first time trying to make a team myself. Any advice and input on things I could change to improve it is MUCH appreciated. :D

Frostbite (Weavile) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ice Punch
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard
- Pursuit

Started with Weavile because it is my favorite Pokemon. It serves as a revenge killer, with pursuit to counter anything with "Lati-" in the name. I chose ice punch over icicle crash because I prefer perfect accuracy.

Tentakill (Tentacruel) (M) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 252 HP / 132 Def / 16 SpA / 108 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
- Scald
- Sludge Wave

Went with Tentacruel for my rapid spinner. I feel Tentacruel and Weavile both cover eachother's weaknesses pretty well. I think Tentacruel is a better choice than Starmie because it is able to counter Breloom and set up hazards of its own. I don't like defog because I want my hazards to remain on the field. The 108 speed EVs allow it to outspeed jolly max speed Breloom and at 16 SpA it can OHKO Breloom with sludge wave.
16 SpA Tentacruel Sludge Wave vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Breloom: 264-312 (101.1 - 119.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Lambo (Landorus-Therian) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Superpower
- U-turn

Landorus seemed like a solid choice as it is immune to two of Tentacruel's weaknesses (Weavile being immune to its final weakness, Psychic), along with Tentacruel resisting both of Lando's weaknesses. It's a choice scarf set which allows it to form a VoltTurn core with my next mon. Superpower over knock off because Weavile already carries it. It lets me hit ferrothorn if need be.

Wash (Rotom-Wash) @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Rest

Resto Chesto Rotom-Wash to form a VoltTurn core with Landorus. My team needed something to check water types. Tried it with leftovers and pain split but that wasn't very consistent. Thunderbolt over will-o-wisp because I already have scald on my Tentacruel. It is also more powerful than volt switch and allows me to stay in. It provides more reliable damage on water types.

Birdie (Talonflame) (F) @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- Swords Dance
- Roost

Needed something for Keldeo, grass types, and fighting types. Talonflame fit the bill quite nicely. It's your standard swords dance Talonflame set with 2 STAB moves, recovery, a dance, and gale wings for priority.

DeDeDe (Altaria) (F) @ Altarianite
Ability: Cloud Nine
EVs: 248 HP / 136 Def / 96 SpD / 28 Spe
Impish Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Roost
- Return
- Heal Bell

Last but not least is my mega mon, Altaria. My team was looking very vulnerable to dragon type moves, so I added Altaria as my mega for its immunity. Heal bell is good because my Landorus is a common target for burns, and toxic stops my Talonflame from setting up. If need be, it can also become a potent physical sweeper after a few dragon dances with its stab return.

Well, that's my team. I hope you will help me correct some of its flaws and improve it as a whole. Thank you for your time. =D

This seems pretty good for your first team, I have two nitpicks cncerning the sets though.

First of all, Rotom-W probably does need Will-O-Wisp whether or not you also have a Scald user. You can never guarantee that Scald is going to burn, and Rotom really needs something to cripple Grass- and Dragon-types like Ferrothorn, Latios and opposing Altaria, otherwise it will never be able to outlast them. Thunder Wave is also an option for some of these threats, but trust me, Rotom-W absolutely needs a status move in order to wear down or cripple its checks. In any case, it defenitely seems more useful than Thunderbolt since, even if it does hit bulky waters harder, none of them really want to stay in on Rotom, and even if they do, you can easily just send in Altaria to set up on them, or any of your offensive threats to KO them given that they will presumably be severly weakened by the Volt Switch.

Sludge Bomb is generally a lot better than Sludge Wave on Tentacruel, given that increased chance to poison opponents and the fact that you only lose 5 BP. I really don't understand why you're so concerned about Breloom when yu have 2 greta checks to it, Talonflame and Altaria on your team, plus it's not even that common. Even so, the 108 Speed EVs you gave it enable it to outspeed Bisharp so yo may want to keep that regardless.

Speaking of which, Bisharp is a massive threat to your team, and can prety much sweep it with an SD up. You also lack a SR setter, something you pretty much need on any team for chip damage on basically everything. Fortnately, the roles of Bisharp counter and SR setter are covered by Bulky Garchomp and Hippowdon, both of which fit very well over Scarf Landorus-T (you already have 2 Priority users so you don't really need a Scarfer that much) The choice between the two depends whether you prefer a lure for Steel-types and a way to quickly get rid of physical attackers particulalry Talonflame (Garchomp), or a more reliable wall and something that can answer to fast Electric types (Hippowdon)

Ironically, you are very, very weak to opposing Weavile too, especially since your own runs Pursuit as opposed to Low Kick. You can change that up if you're concerned, Weavle doesn't need Pursuit too badly, however you still lack an actual Weavile counter. However, another thing you could do is run Keldeo>Rotom-W. The combination of a bulky Ground and Talonflame already covers most of the threats Rotom does (Talonflame can be a bit annoying but you can probably handle it fine), and Weavile provides you a good answer to Weavile, as well as a fantastic Pursuit abuser and a secondary check to Bisharp. You can also make it into a Scarfer if you feel like it, though I wold rather you run Choice Specs since your team would benefit from a powerful all-out-attacker more than a revenge killer, I imagine you may have trouble against bulkier teams without one.

Thank you for your help! I was concerned about Breloom because at the time I created the Tentacruel set, the only other pokemon on my team was Weavile and I was afraid of the mach punch. I'm fairly new, so at my current ranking I am matched up with a lot of people who lead with an offensive Breloom with spore mach punch rock tomb and bullet seed. I actually got wrecked by a swords dance sucker punch Bisharp like you said. Ironically I was wishing I still had the will o wisp on my Rotom. I wasn't even thinking about Weavile because I didn't realize it had somewhat risen in popularity. Changed pursuit to low kick on Weavile. Changed sludge wave to sludge bomb on Tentacruel. I decided to switch out Landorus and Rotom for the Hippowdon and Keldeo sets you recommended and I am currently testing the new team. I really appreciate your suggestions!
