First RMT, New to Competetive UBERS PLZ HALp =)

The TEAM

So I have been playing in the UBERs Tier and managed to peak just under 1500 ( 149x, don’t remember the exact number). I originally went with a classic stall team, just your basic get some Burn/Poison going with entry hazards and use walls to phaze and stall, nothing special. I then found myself in a bracket where people were a little more hyper aggressive than the lower brackets with knowledge and speed to back it up. That became a problem. I found myself losing walls left and right with no status effects or entry hazards out and just praying to god Kyogre could still clean up (which happened sometimes). As I was messing with my team I found that I really didn’t enjoy playing against GEOMANCY Xerneas and always losing to it. So I took a hard look at the team and found a slot for Jirachi. This was the birth of the team I now play, Hax to the Max Stall (as I like to call it). The basic idea is to have a core of stall (status/wall/entry hazard/phaze) with a sweeper and speed pokes that can cripple your opponents. So without further-a-do I give you the team.

The BREAKDOWN

385.gif

Yutaa (Jirachi) @ Leftovers

Ability: Serene Grace

EVs: 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SDef

Careful Nature

- Iron Head

- Wish

- Body Slam

- Stealth Rock

Jirachi is usually my lead unless I see a Darkrai and/or speedy fire/ghost user. This setup is used to utilize max bulk and flinch the opponent to death. Body Slam is to slow down and cripple sweepers that I know won’t 2HKO Jirachi. Wish to keep me healthy as well as other pokes on the team. Iron Head is obviously for HACKS TO THE MAX flinching frustration. EVs are for a balanced bulk.

Shinshigami (Shaymin-Sky) @ Leftovers

Ability: Serene Grace

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

Timid Nature

- Air Slash

- Seed Flare

- Leech Seed

- Substitute

Oh Shaymin-S, how I never knew I’d love you so much. After I started playing with Jirachi I found myself searching all over for other pokemon with the Serene Grace ability and Iron Head to which I was disappointed. Then I noticed this little bugger with it’s amazing Air Slash, absurd speed and ability to sit behind a substitute and stay healthy while draining, flinching and breaking down special walls. The frustration my opponents feel when Blissey/Chansey become worthless and are forced to switch out brings such joy to my heart. Leech Seed is for drain with status and to keep me healthy. Substitute is for the forced switch, scouting and/or when I know it won’t break. Seed Flare to break special walls and to round it off HACKS TO THE MAX Air Slash. EVs to max damage and speed but I might be switching to speed and hp for subs.

Tanksey (Chansey) @ Eviolite

Ability: Natural Cure

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SDef

Careful Nature

- Wish

- Toxic

- Heal Bell

- Seismic Toss

So every stall team needs it’s walls. Chansey is my special wall, and she eats them specials for breakfast all day long. I went with Chansey over Blissey because with this EV spread and Eviolite I can take a few physical hits without worry and still stall them out. Wish to keep the team healthy. Toxic to stall, although I sometimes play with Protect in this slot and put Toxic on Tentacruel if I feel I am dying to fast, but without a healing item I feel that it’s better to just have Toxic most of the time. Heal Bell to stop other stall teams from crippling my pokemon and stalling me out. Seismic Toss to avoid being taunt bait and to put pressure on with status.

493-ghost.gif

Carl (Arceus-Ghost) @ Spooky Plate

Ability: Multitype

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef

Bold Nature

- Recover

- Judgment

- Will-O-Wisp

- Roar

Arceus is my spin blocker since so much of the damage from this team is from entry hazard, even when not phasing. He also happens to be my phazer and physical wall. While he may not be the best in terms of pure stats he eats all the fighting/normal type moves with ease (yay immune) and takes the rest of the physical hits so stronk. Recover to stay healthy and keep that wall active. Judgment to deal with all the Ghost/Psychic types and strong STAB. Will-O-Wisp for status and to cripple physical attackers to keep Chansey safe. Roar to phaze and get that status spread and entry damage going. EVs are for max physical bulk.

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge

Ability: Rain Dish

EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Def

Calm Nature

- Rapid Spin

- Knock Off

- Scald

- Protect

Tentacruel is the most recent addition to the team and as of right now is still in trial mode. I was previously on Giratine and Arceus-Fairy (with Defog) as my spin blocker and hazard clearer but decided that it was just too weak (Arceus-Fairy) and that Giratina was too stall for this team. Rapid spin for obvious reasons. Toxic Spikes for entry hazard. Scald for stab and status. Protect to stay healthy with rain and sludge. EVs to maximize special bulk since UBERs is filled with special moves. NEED HELP WITH GOOD NICKNAME =)

Bubbles (Kyogre) @ Choice Scarf

Ability: Drizzle

EVs: 6 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

Modest Nature

- Thunder

- Water Spout

- Ice Beam

- Scald

The final piece of all stall teams is a revenge killer and sweeper, Kyogre is just that while also being my weather changer. With a reasonable bulk and insane speed/Satk Kyogre eats teams alive after a SR/Spike and status effects are out. Hell, even without them this whale does the job sometimes. Water Spout is the obvious go to, usually a switch in after a Wish to enter at max and sweep. Scald is secondary stab with status, though I may want to go to Surf. Ice Beam and Thunder are for coverage on other Kyogre and Dragons as well as Flying. EVs are for speed and Satk. I have been debating going to a Timid nature but have yet to test it out.

Last Thoughts

I really have enjoyed this team and would love any input you guys see. As stated Tentacruel is the newest addition to the team and I am currently playing around with the physical wall and spin blocker slot. Thanks for looking!

edit 1 - changed toxic spikes to knock off thanks to Minority Suspect. I used ferrorthorn on the original stall idea but moved to jirachi as i really hated looking at that plant and jirachi fit my playstyle much more
