First RMT - Team Exc

So, my first RMT. I've been reading on these forums for a while now, but I finally plucked up the courage to post =P. So, my favourite pokemon of Gen V is...Excadrill! Just love it. So it thought my first RMT should be around maximising his potential =D. Anway, on to the rate.


Hippowdon @ Leftovers

So, my lead. I went with Hippowdon for the obvious reason of setting the sandstorm up, but also because it can set up Stealth Rocks and take a few hits, as well as deal them =] Also, its a hippo!

The star of the team. I just love it. Amazing stats. Amazing ability. Just amazing everything. Anyway, I guess you could say my main sweeper, as well as my spinner.

I was looking for something that could counter the inevitable Fighting and Ground weaknesses, and this fit the bill perfectly. I love the unusual set up on this thing, plus it can take a hit or two.

Simple really. Takes hits like a beast! Deals some nice damage when it all adds together, as well as just being able to sit there and absorb the ever common Outrage.

So, my only special sweeper. I thought it was needed, incase I hit a brick wall. So, thats about it. Not too keen on this one.

Garchomp! By far my favourite Pokemon of Gen IV. Just awesome. The only way to describe it. My revenge killer of sorts, combined with a mid-battle sweeper.


So, there you go. I'm sure you'll all notice some inexperience, and pick out a few gapeing holes that I've missed. I'm here to get advice, so be as brutal as need be. I want to improve, and become better in competitive play, so any advice is welcome. I'm willing to change anything bar Excadrill, which is very definitely my favourite Pokemon of all time!

Excadrill should have a Jolly Nature over Adamant, otherwise other Excadrills will outspeed and kill it. Also, you may want to try X-Scissor on him. Overall good team.

3. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you are having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice.

Your descriptions are lacking, which means you are violating the above quoted RMT rule. If you wish to remedy this problem, explain your reasoning behind each Pokemon and why they work on your team more thoroughly. Try to aim for 3-4 sentences with your descriptions. I recommend lurking through the RMT Archive in order to see examples of what we're looking for in an RMT! If you fix this problem, private message indicating that you have done so. Once you've done that, I will unlock your thread.
