Mawile @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 240 HP / 80 Def / 188 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Play Rough
- Iron Head
Mawile is my main physical sweeper who I chose to build a bit bulky so it can get off the first swords dance. After a swords dance, it can sucker punch its way through most threats easily.
Togekiss @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef
Bold Nature
- Baton Pass
- Roost
- Nasty Plot
- Air Slash
I've found togekiss to be the most reliable weakness policy user in the metagame. He's built bulky so I can sub him in to take a hit whenever neccesary and with the boosts the lack of attack investment usually pays off. Thanks to weakness policy, I can usually lead with him and start with a nasty plot, take a SE hit, then baton pass the +4 +2 to either mawile or latios to put alot of pressure on the opponent. Roost is there for longevity purposes, and air slash usually takes care of any annoying slower leads that could cause problems.
Avalugg @ Leftovers
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 240 HP / 240 Def / 28 SDef
Relaxed Nature
- Avalanche
- Curse
- Recover
- Rapid Spin
Avalugg is the best physical tank I have come across and has single-handedly destroyed entire rain and hail teams thanks to curse, recover, and avalanche. Luckily he has rapid spin to take care of steath rock, and while he is incredibly frail to special fire sweepers, I usually have done much more damage to the opponent before I have to switch him out.
Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Earth Power
- Scald
- Toxic
- Recover
Gastrodon covers all water and electric attacks and usually outlasts most stalling walls thanks to toxic, recover, and scald. He's also predictable as a result, so in some instances he's dead weight ehile in others he carries the whole team.
Talonflame @ Flying Gem
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Acrobatics
- Flare Blitz
- Roost
- Me First
Flying gem boosted acrobatics can kill most pokemon that don't resist it and means that I dont have to pay the cost of brave bird recoil. Me first always catches the opponent off guard and has been the beign of far too many dragons and ghosts save gengar.
Latios (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Psyshock
- Trick
Latios is a bit experimental at the moment. He fills the special sweeper spot really well and with the +4 baton pass from togekiss can be a real monster. Trick messes with most counters and the rest are just for coverage.
I'm trying to work on synergy at the moment, and most importantly I'm trying to find the best special sweeper to fit the team. I recently subbed:
Doublade @ Eviolite
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 240 HP / 80 Def / 188 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sacred Sword
- Shadow Sneak
- Iron Head
for my mawile in order to create a more consistant and powerful physical sweeper/tank though the loss in bulk has come at a cost plus the loss of a ghost for the team though in the past doublade sufered from the neccesary setup that awile can often function without.
Additionally, I needed to sub out my gengar:
Gengar @ Gengarite
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Destiny Bond
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Bomb
- Hypnosis
due to the fact that mawile takes up my current mega slot. Without him I lose a strong check to fairies as well as a strong ghost. Latios is nowhere near as strong a special weeper as gengar but I cannot find a better special sweeper to take the nasty plots at the moment otherwise, as in the past gengar had incredible synergy with togekiss.
Two main flaws I have found in my team at the moment are a strong fire weakness (especially mega charizard Y) and aside from the aptly mentioned special sweeper issues, a lack of a means to deal with focus sash and sub/protect shenanigans.
