First RMT

Hey guys this is my first RMT.

azelf.png

Azelf @ Focus Sash --> The Lead
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Atk/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Stealth Rock
- Psychic
- Fire Blast
- Explosion

Azelf is a good lead as it lets me setup Stealth Rock early in the game. Psychic is for the Fighting and Poison type leads that are used such as Machamp and Roserade while providing handy STAB. Fire Blast hits all the Steel leads not named Heatran and opposing Azelf. Explosion is to destroy/cripple their Azelf counter.
vaporeon.png

Vaporeon (M) @ Leftovers --> The Support
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 188 HP/252 Def/68 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Surf
- Protect
- Wish
- Hidden Power [Electric]

Vaporeon fills a nice spot in the team by providing me with a great Gyarados and Heatran counter, passing Wishes to other teammates and absorbing Water attacks. Considering shifting the Speed EVs to Special Attack for that extra punch on Surf and HP Electric.

infernape.png

Infernape (M) @ Life Orb --> The Wallbreaker
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 64 Atk/192 Spd/252 SAtk
Hasty nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Fire Blast
- Close Combat
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Infernape is very capable of sweeping teams by itself and usually picks up 1-2 KOs per game. Fire Blast and Close Combat provide Dual STAB which give great coverage and power, boosted by the Life Orb. Grass Knot is there to get the OHKO on Swampert and damage other Bulky Waters. HP Ice is mainly there to nail Salamence/Dragonite/UnScarfed Flygon who switch in, expecting to KO Infernape.

latias.png

Latias (F) @ Choice Specs --> The Special Attacker
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Trick
- Surf
- Thunderbolt

Latias is a great special attacker with Draco Meteor as powerful STAB, putting a large dent in anything not Steel type or named Blissey. Surf and Thunderbolt are there for coverage while Trick is there to give those annoying pink blobs that switch in on me a nice pair of glasses that will cripple them. It pairs well with Infernape, resisting two of its weaknesses by typing and a third with Levitate while Infernape resists the Dark and Bug moves sent at Latias although it has to be careful when switching in on them as they usually come from big physical attackers.

scizor.png

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band --> The Physical Attacker
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP/252 Atk/8 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit

Scizor is just a wonderful pokemon, especially when holding a Choice Band. CB Bullet Punch lets me kill things that are faster than me, especially frail pokemon. U-turn lets me scout their switches so I can counter accordingly. Superpower hits Normal types hard *cough* Blissey *cough* and nails Heatrans that switch into me. Pursuit lets me kill those annoying Ghost Types such as the Rotom Forms, Gengar etc.

flygon.png

Flygon (M) @ Choice Scarf --> The Revenge Killer and the Scout
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Stone Edge
- U-turn

Scarf Flygon is a great pokemon, getting excellent coverage with his Dual STAB of Earthquake and Outrage which both hit things that don't resist it hard. Stone Edge is for Gyarados and other Flying types that are a pain while U-Turn lets me scout and hits Grass types, Psychic types and Dark types hard, especially Celebi.

I've been having some problems with Suicune, Raikou, Gengar, Roserade (as a lead) and the Rotom forms. Any fixes are appreciated.

I'll do the best I can.

The first thing that strikes me as odd is lack of Stealth Rocks. Stealth Rocks is extremely crucial in today's metagame and is somewhat mandatory on all teams. Its usually on the lead set, so if you want you can either change your lead or change a member to get stealth rocks.

Scizor isn't that effective as a lead with Heatrans, Infernapes, and Fire Blast Azelfs. And with no SR, I think you should swap Scizor for a more effective lead.

Vaporeon looks fine.

Infernape looks fine.

Latias looks fine, but I really prefer the Choice Specs Variant. Its the same, really.

Shaymin is largely outclassed with Celebi. You say Shaymin is the one you wanna replace? Heres my suggestion.

Since you don't have a reliable lead, I think an Azelf lead would be good here.
Azelf@Focus Sash
Naive, Levitate
4 Atk, 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Spd
~Stealth Rock
~Psychic
~Explosion
~Fire Blast

Azelf with Focus Sash reliably gets up rocks. If it replaces Shaymin, then Fire Blast replaces HP Fire, Psychic to handle fightings like Air Slash, and explosion to guarantee a kill. It will destroy nonscarf Roserades with STAB psychic.

That being said, feel free to move Scizor into the midgame. And if you still want a Specs-er, give it to Latias.

Flygon looks fine.

With your scizor a nonlead, I don't think Gengars will be a problem. Just send him out and Pursuit it to death. Im pretty sure Flygon can outspeed. Rotom Forms are a pain. Nothing can counter it well, so just use passive damage to take it out. If you really hate CM Suicune and Raikou, try using Roar on Vaporeon to make it go away. Be careful with Raikou though.

Good Luck.

Scizor isn't a good lead. No matter if they pack an azelf, aerodactyl, etc. Let your infernape lead with stealth rocks.

It's alway a must to carry a pokemon with stealth rocks.
Going back to scizor.. Not good as a lead because if you bullet punch first hit or try to u-turn, azelf and aerodactyl mostly all the time have focus sash. From there. Your main sweeper is dead. Scizor is a late sweeper for bullet punches.

So use infernape as lead or flygon. Otherwise your team will do fine. Good luck.
