First team in a year. -RMT-

My last team kinda sucked in terms of handling the Gengar counters, so I thought of changing it up a little. As usual, I'll try and make this team for the purpose of letting Gengar sweep. I also wanted to get rid of legendaries on my team because my friend kept b****ing about it.

*All things in red are the "Which one should I choose?" scenario.

Smeargle @ Leftovers/Salac Berry (Which?)
Jolly Nature
244 HP/12 Def/252 Spd
Spore
Substitute
Nasty Plot
Baton Pass

Something that my Gengar failed to do was OHKO anything with a neutral attack. Not to mention, missing a move spelled out death for him, thanks to his fragility and no substitute. Smeargle takes care of that part if he can get a chance to sleep + sub + Nasty Plot.

Gengar @ Life Orb
Timid Nature
252 SA/4 HP/252 Spd
HP Ice
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt
Focus Blast

Main part of my team, and the Special Sweeper of the bunch.
I dropped Hypnosis to get better type coverage, and to remove some redundancies.
Bronzong @ Leftovers
Sassy Nature; 0 Speed IVs
252 HP/86 Atk/80 Def/92 SD
Gyro Ball
Explosion
Hypnosis
Earthquake

My wall for both Physical and Special Attacks, and he takes care of some threats from the DD Tyranitar, and a huge threat that I always run into: Weavile. I have trouble thinking of whether or not to use Stealth Rock or Explosion.

Garchomp @ Yache Berry
Jolly Nature
4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Swords Dance
Earthquake
Outrage
Fire Fang

The same Garchomp I want on my team, only because it's one of the best sweepers out there. Now, I'm debating on if I should use Outrage, or Dragon Claw; and Fire Fang/Stone Edge.
Gyarados @ Leftovers
Adamant Nature
216 HP/16 Atk/176 Def/100 Spd
Dragon Dance
Waterfall
Stone Edge
Taunt

Replaces Vaporeon for the sake of a Bulky Water, and does a fine job at that. To an extent, can help to get rid of Heracross on the Close Combat + Megahorn switch-in.

Spiritomb @ Leftovers
Bold Nature
252 HP/252 Def/4 SA
Dark Pulse
Calm Mind
Rest
Sleep Talk

I needed someone who could become a potentially good special wall, without sharing any weaknesses or types. For, me it was a call between Blissey, the normal-type that shares it's weakness with Smeargle, although he's not really one who will be seeing battle much...or Spiritomb. I'm still unsure which one to choose. Anyways, Spiritomb has no weaknesses, and can boost its Special Def/SA with Calm Mind. It's a staller for me, but it can take Special Attack hits, and restore HP.

Garchomp with outrage and fire fang was typical because it was proven to be effective. I don't believe you should deviate from that unless your friend you'd be using garchomp against uses a lot of things that stone edge would super effective against.

Salac Berry has more favor because it would make baton passing easier and allows you to give a benefit to any of the pokemon on your team not just gengar. Gengar would greatly benefit the extra speed as well because it would get done in by revenge killers.

Since you'd rely on Garchomp, gyarados and gengar to attack for the most part using explosion on bronzong would lose another pokemon that you could switch in on to save the others from being KO'd. Stealth rock would provide extra support, but would be needed to be used early in battle to get the most benefit from it.

Dark Pulse would be the better choice over shadow ball because it doesn't get blocked by blissey, togekiss, porygon2/Z and snorlax. Although you can still stall Blissey, Togekiss and Porygon2/X.

i dislike the smeargle. i think you'll be better off with solid independent members (that still wrok well together in terms of type coverage) than setting up a stat up. especially this early. imagine if you get the pass off and they just switch into bliss. what then? it can be outrun too, so a revenge kill is not out of the question. you'll at least have to switch out and hence lose the stat up.

there is way too many sleep inducers on this team. it's just redundant. i'll say give gengar HP ice. talking of which, i don't like wide lense either, (70% to 77%, big woop) but focus sash is even worse. i would prefer lefties, expert belt, life orb or even wise glasses.

the core of this team is suprisingly decent. i'm sometwhat impressed. the poke i see giving you problems is DD nite, which seems to be quite popular these days. i would hence advse you to use ice fang/stone edge on gyara. it'll probablly get worn out itself with SR, so i recommend a plan B. i could see stuff like gliscor or mamo on this team, just because it's a good general dragon counter. if you want, you can try a bulky celebi with HP ice, grass knot, recover and T-wave. paralasys can help you get rid of those scarftrans and such early so gengar can sweep.

That revenge killer idea sounds great and all, but what would be a good Pokemon that fills the above role? I know that Weavile is one of the more prominent terms when one says "Revenge Killer."

Another fast Pokemon I'm thinking of would be Deoxys-S, since he has great type coverage and Speed, especially. Problem is, his offensive stats are sacrificed for speed, so he's better as a late game sweeper.
