Hey guys, so i played a little in 4th gen and soon enough, 5th gen came around. So I decided to make a new team to try and win some battles. This team got me up to 1311, but I'm to go down. I could use some input from all you Smogonites. Let's see the team!
Team at a Glance
In-Depth
Dragonite@Life Orb
Multiscale
Quiet
252 Atk/4 Def/252 SpA
-Draco Meteor
-Fire Blast
-Extremespeed
-Earthquake
The standard Anti-Lead Dragonite from Gen 4, he "leads" the team. His overall power is generally enough to take out 1 Pokemon on the opponent's team, such as Ninetales or Politoed. I had Inner Focus for a little bit, but he died to every Ice type attack, so I changed to Multiscale. Now, at full health, he can survive most Ice attacks and KO with a combination of Draco Meteor and Extremespeed.
Tyranitar@Leftovers
Sand Stream
Quiet
252 HP/60 Atk/176 SpA/20 Spe
-Substitute
-Focus Punch
-Crunch
-Flamethrower
Another classic. Tyraniboah(?) makes a great member to the team. After Dragonite or whoever kills the opponent's weather starter, Tyranitar changes the weather to Sandstorm, which is great for negating the positive effects of Sun and Rain. Unexpecting Scizor come in to meet a Substitute, where they are promptly scorched by Flamethrower. It's other two moves provide decent coverage, although the lack of a Ground or Rock move hurts sometimes.
Azumarill@Choice Band
Huge Power
Adamant
252 HP/252 Atk/4 Spe
-Aqua Jet
-Ice Punch
-Superpower
-Waterfall
One of the most underrated pokes ever. With the Choice Band boost and Huge Power, he reaches an attack stat of over 600, which is enough to kill Excadrill and Volcarona in at least two hits with Aqua Jet. I can switch him into most non-boosted Garchomps too, where they either boost or attack with a move that doesn't OHKO. I then proceed to Ice Punch for the KO. The same thing happens to many other pokes who get too confident. Aqua Jet is great, as it can pick of many weakened Pokemon. Superpower and Waterfall are for coverage.
Conkeldurr@Life Orb
Guts
Adamant
120 HP/252 Atk/136 SpD
-Mach Punch
-Drain Punch
-Bulk Up
-Stone Edge
Conkeldurr is a great addition, as Fighting and Rock attacks are great for the team. Now, you may be wondering, "Life Orb? What?" and that's understandable. But I like the extra power it provides. I probably will switch to Leftovers just cause. I actually don't use Conkeldurr as a bulky sweeper/wallbreaker, more of a defensive pivot for the other pokes, so I don't use Bulk Up as much. Another viable move would be great.
Latios@Life Orb
Levitate
Timid
4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
-Recover/Roost
-Draco Meteor
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
Latios is a great pokemon. I originally had a Latias, but the power wasn't quite what I needed, so I upgraded. He generally comes in on choiced Earthquakes and then Draco Meteors to dent something. Life Orb is (obviously) there for the extra power, and he can heal of the recoil with Recover/Roost. Roost is slashed in for Recover only because it's sexier. Hidden Power Fire might go in for Thunderbolt to handle with Ferrothorn. A pretty generic set.
Magnezone@Leftovers
Magnet Pull
Timid
40 HP/252 SpA/216 Spe
-Substitute
-Thunderbolt
-Hidden Power (Fire)
-Flash Cannon
Magnezone, probably the most underused member on the team. I haven't seen many, but here, where he eliminates Steels, like Scizor or Ferrothorn, and resists Dragon, he really shines. Magnezone generally comes in on something he can intimidate out with Thunderbolt, like Gyarados (without Earthquake) or Politoed. He then sets up a sub to get at least one good hit on the incoming Pokemon, or switch out if needed. Thunderbolt is the obvious STAB. Hidden Power Fire gets decent coverage with Thunderbolt and is great for Scizors who think they can kill Tyranitar. Flash Cannon is very conditional, as its only real use is against Tyranitars and Garchomps when I have a sub up. Otherwise, it's pretty useless (move suggestions?).
So that's my team. I do have some weaknesses, like Reuniclus or weather after Tyranitar's dead, but I feel overall, my team is good as there aren't many shared weaknesses. Rate please.
