Introduction:Soooo... yeah. That was my first team Idea Hopefully it's alright. I'm sure there must be a lot of flaws since it's my first one, but please do tell I want to get into Competitive very much cause I loved pokemon since I was like 8. I've tested this team, but everytime I try using it, always end up getting 15-15 out of 30 battles. At first I had a Heracross and I changed that cause Even more weaknesses to fire and I had a stealh rock problem so I switched it with Starmie.

Roflmon (Metagross) @ Occa Berry
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 236 Atk / 12 Def / 8 Spe
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Explosion
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Bullet Punch
---Metagross is just to set up stealth rock and maybe start an early sweep. Explosion is there so when Metagross is about to feint, it takes the other down with it.

OmgDude (Lucario) (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 4 Def/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature
- Aura Sphere
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Shadow Ball
- Vacuum Wave
---Lucario's to surpise some people. I'm not sure if this is 100% true, but most people believe lucario will be an Attack type sweeper. So I designed him to be a special type. He takes out Tyranitar,Weavile, in one hit with Aura Sphere and Shadow Ball to surpise psychic and ghost types(also 1HKO.)
milotic.jpg

UglyGirl (Milotic) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Marvel Scale
EVs: 148 HP / 252 Def / 108 SpA
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Recover
- Hidden Power [Electric]
- Toxic
- Ice Beam
---Milotic's here to take out Baton Passers like Ninjask. Hopefully that hypnosis can hit and start spamming ice beam till it's dead. Another reason is to outlast other tanks like Milktank and Blisseys.
salamence.jpg

Screwed (Salamance) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 24 SpA/232 Atk/252 Spe
Naughty nature
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Outrage
---My main sweeper. Earthquake and Fire Blast are there in case they are using a Pokemon that is weak towards it so I don't have to sweep and get confused early with outrage.
scizor.jpg

FailEvolution (Scizor) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 32 HP/252 Atk/224 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- U-Turn
- Bullet Punch
- Night Slash
- Superpower
---Made to Take out Blisseys and such. Since they are Sdef tanks I thought a techy double hit after 2 sword dances would take em out faster. Night Slash is there to take out Psychics and ghosts by suprise.
avatar22065_2.gif

Darkness (Tyranitar) @ Babari Berry
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly nature
6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Dragon Dance
Crunch
Stone Edge
Fire Punch
---Late-Game Sweeper

Thanks to diinbong for tips.

Hello RikugouMao,

Before I start a full rate, I'd like to discuss the glaringly bruteful item on your Metagross. Focus Band is completely outclassed by Focus Sash on a leading Pokemon, and even that is outclassed by several things on a Pokemon bulky as Metagross! Before I suggest an item, however, I'd like to know exactly what your EV spread is supposed to accomplish. The choice of item on Lead Gross is really dependent on what you need it to deal with. Since your team really has little problems with Fire-types in general, Occa Berry (Fire-resist berry) may seem redundant in keeping these in check, however, once these are removed, Scizor and Lucario can really have a fun time sweeping. However, such an item is only of any real use if you have Earthquake to hit the Fire-types back after you take an attack from them. The moral of this story is to consider a spread of 252 HP / 236 Atk / 12 Def / 8 Spe Adamant to retain some of that great fighting power, with Earthquake over Explosion or Meteor Mash to deal with Fire-types, and an Occa Berry to take hits from Heatran and Infernape.

That Lucario set is truly an effective one, however, by running Life Orb you are wasting all of Lucario's great resistances by making him less bulky (or technically, able to take less hits). As such, the best choice is Choice Specs. Not only will this spare you some precious Hit Points, but will also give you the power needed to plow through some walls like Luke should be doing naturally. By the way, he wants a Timid or Modest nature since he's not using any physcical attacks. Milotic's EV spread is a bit "weird", as it doesn't really accomplish anything that it should be. First of all, your Defense should have 252 EVs invested in it with a Bold nature to take hits from the likes of Salamence and Gyarados. Next, you're going to want to put some EVs in HP before anywhere else. 148 HP EVs allow Milotic to have a slight chance to survive a Dragon Danced Outrage from Life Orb Salamence and OHKO back with Ice Beam, unless Salamence is carrying a large amount of Special Defense EVs. The rest can be placed in Special Attack. The spread we have now is one of Bold, 148 HP / 252 Def / 108 SpA. The next thing you'll want to do is remove Aqua Ring for the more useful HP Electric, which will allow you the ability to beat Gyarados. Hypnosis can be replaced with Toxic to damage other bulky Pokemon and Dragons, however it is more a matter of preference.

I recommend you harness the power of Smogon and read up on defensive EV spread, courteously contributed by X-Act.

I don't like to be too blunt with my assessments of Pokemon, however the Dragonite you're running right now is beat out by Salamence in every way, shape, and form. Intimidate is also a helpful asset on this team to allow it to take some physical hits and act spontaneously and flexibly versus physical sweepers. Hooray for Platinum giving Salamence Outrage! This set is the one 'most valiant as your precious Dragonite right now:

Salamence @ Life Orb
Naughty - Intimidate
232 Atk / 24 SpA / 252 Spe
Dragon Dance
Outrage
Earthquake
Fire Blast

Scizor is a great choice on any team in my opinion, as "Flexibility is Key". This is exactly what Scizor delivers. The ability to first scout the opponent's team to gain knowledge and heighten results of future decision-making skills, then revenge kill any sweeper too much for your team to handle. Flexibility. This, however, is not presented with the set you use right now. A Choice Band is most certainly the best option on such a Pokemon to gain the full result of that great Attack stat, and also have the power to pick off resistant Pokemon. Once Choice Band has been added, you can drop most of the moves on your set and make it look something like this:

U-turn
Bullet Punch
Superpower
Night Slash

Superpower is actually a more appropriate way of dealing with Blissey, and Pursuit can even be used over Night Slash to trap her in her spot! A bulkier EV spread of Adamant, 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 Spe may also serve you well, however it is your decision whether the ability to switch in more frequently is worth the loss in Speed. Finally we come to Starmie, who seems to kind of overlap general utility when compared with the similar bulky Water Milotic. With the rest of your team being good at weakening Water-types (especially Milotic's Toxic and Metagross' Exlposion), and your general immunity to Sandstorm, Tyranitar would fare well in this spot. A Dragon Dance version could act as a vicious late game sweeper, while also take a few special hits early-game from the likes of Jolteon and Gengar.

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Jolly - Sand Stream
6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Dragon Dance
Crunch
Stone Edge
Fire Punch

You can survive a Scizor's Bullet Punch at full health, but should you be conservative about your options, Babiri Berry will protect you from super effective Stee-type attacks.

Thanks for letting me rate your team and I hope you try some of these suggestions. Good luck!

Thanks for pointing the flaws. I just started competitive battling, it's kind of a lot to take in.

Well I was really just going to ask should I add a Skarmory. I heard it's good to "debuff" other pokemon's status changes. I just don't know who to switch it in with, Tyranitar, Milotic, or Scizor.

Skarmory is not the kind of Pokemon you want to add on this team. As an example, when your switching in Skarmory on a Earthquake, you could get get in Salamence instead and get a free set up. When you switch Skarmory in on a Tyranitar's CB Pursuit, you could have instead swicthed in your own Tyranitar or even Scizor. Not only are its immunities redundant with the rest of the team, but its presence on the field will always put the opponent at the advantage. You will lose the stride that playing off resistances comes with. This is honestly the best way to play if you want to improbe drastically. I hope this made some sense to you. Also, I suggest that you try Smogon's tutor program to dive into competitive battling!

edit: haha Skarmory acrostic

Please fix up some of the descriptions. I'm going to lock this thread, pm me with the updates and I'll un-lock so you can edit them in. Thanks.
