First team, V2!

Hey guys, this is a modified version of my first UU team. I was just hoping to get it reviewed before I take it and record battles with it.

*Changes are in blue*

*Former Member: Swellow*
Scyther:
EV's: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly

Ability: Technician

Item: Choice Band

Moves:

>Brick Break

>Aerial Ace

>Quick Attack

>U-Turn

Scyther is working out way better then Swellow. His high attack stat really help me gain the lead early in the game by taking a big chunk out of most leads. Scyther is really only out-sped as a lead when Typhlosion or Alakazam show up, and the rare moltres. Even when is is out-sped though, I can just switch into Registeel or Milotic to sponge the hit, then threaten to OHKO with surf, or set up a curse on their switch out. When Scyther survives into the later stages of the game, he can take out weakened pokemon with ease. Over all I am happy with Scyther's contributions to the team.

Milotic:
EV's: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Marvel Scale
Nature: Bold
Moves:
>Ice Beam
>Recover
>Surf
>Hidden Power Grass (70)
I am happy with using Milotic as a replacement for Lanturn, she is able to sponge more special hits than Lanturn, and with a recovery move, its no contest. Pretty much the standard Smogon Bulky Water Milotic. Surf and Ice Beam provide good coverage for and pokemon that want to try and take Milotic down, HP grass if for Water and ground types like Kabutops and Quagsire, who may try and set up swords dance or curse. Recover to heal back damage.

Registeel:
EV's: 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 SpD
Nature: Careful
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
Moves:
>Rest
>Curse
>Sleep Talk
>Iron Head

Registeel is a monster. It's ability to sponge hits for my other pokemon, then recover is very helpful. I usually bring him in when I have a pokemon that I don't want to take a hit. Registeel usually scares them away with fear of earthquake or explosion, which leaves me free to set up a curse or two, making Registeel even harder to take down than it already is. Rest and sleep talk are there for the obvious reason, Rest to regain HP, and sleep talk to attack while asleep, or keep cursing. Iron head may not be the best option for an attacking move, but it is superior over earthquake when it comes to hitting flying types or pokemon with levitate. (Registeel is cool)

Blaziken:
EV's: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Rash
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
Moves:
>Vacuum Wave
>Super Power
>Fire Blast
> Hidden Power Grass (70)

Blaziken is still on my team because he is awesome. The only difference is the set, I've changed it from the physical scarf set, to the mixed priority attacker set. Blaziken still does his job very well, Bustin' up walls and stuff. Being a mixed attacker is also very convenient, being able to surprise physical walls and special walls, respectively. After the walls are broken down in the later game, Blaziken can pick off weakened pokemon with a surprise Vacuum wave to the face.

*Former Member: Feraligatr. You will be missed*
Donphan:
EV's: 52 HP / 252 Atk / 200 Def

Nature: Adamant

Item: Leftovers

Ability: Sturdy

Moves:

>Stealth Rock

>Rapid Spin

>Assurance

> Earthquake
Even though I'm not too happy having Feraligatr replaced, Donphan is a better fit on this team. He strengthens both my offensive and defensive cores. His Utility moves also come in handy, since my team doesn't really like stealth rocks.

Mismagius:
EV's: 252 SPAtk / 252 Spe / 4HP
Nature: Timid
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
Moves:
>Thunderbolt
>Shadow Ball
> Substitute
> Nasty Plot
Substitute has replaced Hidden Power Fighting for the following reasons:
1: Hidden Power Fighting was not strong enough to do major damage to pokemon that are fighting weak
2: Substitute gives Mismagius that extra bulk needed to set up a nasty plot or two, then sweep.

Mismagius grants my a nice immunity to Fighting and Normal type moves, which my team doesn't really like. I can bring mismagius in on a U-turn from Swellow, as Mismagius often scares away psychic types and water types. I can then nasty plot and try and set up a sweep. The moves that Mismagius has gives it very nice coverage, not being resisted by anything. However, some problems I run into are that Mismagius can often be out sped and OHKO'd by pokemon like alakazam or scarf variants of pokemon.

Thanks for reading guys, any help you give me is really appreciated. I'm open to all ideas you have to offer.

I disagree with what you said about Lanturn; it can do a very important thing that Milotic can't: absorb electric attacks. And it's not bad at taking grass attacks either, unless they're Leaf Storm.

A scarfed or defensive rotom spells danger for your team (which incidentally, is handled quite well by Lanturn). I'd suggest a different special wall instead of Registeel, because your opponent gets to switch-in with Moltres (who is then free to HP Grass Milotic and Feraligatr, Fire Blast Swellow and Mismagius, and Air Slash Blaziken, depending on who switches in).

OK, there are some major changes to be done but the base of the team it's not so bad.

Swellow doesn't really work well as a lead. Every skilled player predicts Protect/U-turn on the first turn and it's able to lay entry hazard/set up and then switch to pokes like Rhyperior or Registeel to take every move you pack.

Choice Band Scyther can do that job a lot better so I suggest you to replace Swellow with the following poke:

Scyther @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk/252 spe/4 hp
Nature: Jolly
- U-turn (for scouting and second STAB)
- Aerial Ace (primary STAB choice with high coverage)
- Brick Break (for coverage against Rock and Steel types)
- Quick Attack (for revenge killing faster pokes)

Scyther doesn't need to wait for Toxic/Flame Orb to activate, can hit pokés with a much more powerful U-Turn and packs a lot of more coverage when compared to Swellow.

Now I strongly recommend you to remove HP Fighting from Mismagius and replace it with Substitute you are protected form status/Sucker Punch and faster pokes.

You are pretty weak to entry hazards and Feraligatr doesn't really do anything that other team members can't (you already have priority and a Water Type poke).
Donphan is immune to Electric type moves (that nothing on your team resist), can rapid spin and deals with Sub-Charge Rotom, a poke that can really screw your team. He is a very powerful physical attacker and improves you team offensive coverage while also providing the "always amazing" Stealth Rock support.

Donphan @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 52 Hp/252 Atk/200 Def
Nature: Adamant
- Earthquake
- Assurance
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock

Good Luck.

Here's a small suggestion I have to offer. Seeing how you are really not intent on having a scarfer or a Pokemon simply outpacing Mismagius ruin it's sweep, I suggest switching the set to a SubNP Mismagius. This will ease any predictions associated with Mismagius, so as the opponent's Pokemon switches out, you can Sub up and then retaliate with the appropriate attack depending on the Pokemon that has switched into Mismagius. Here's the set:

434.png

Mismagius @ Leftovers
252 SpAtk/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP
Timid nature/ Levitate Ability
- Substitute
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt/ Hidden Power [Fighting]

The moves on the set are basically determined by personal preference. Running a combination of Shadow Ball and Hidden Power [Fighting] gives you perfect coverage in your moves but Thunderbolt may be used if you want to get rid of opposing Milotic easily. Also, you can alternately run an EV spread of 220 Spe/ 252 SpAtk/ 36 HP; this will give Mismagius an extra amount of bulk while still being able to outpace Positive Nature Base 100's and Neutral Nature Base 115's even if you use Hidden Power [Fighting] (which reduces your speed IV).

Hope this helped!
