First Team

This is just a team I was messing around with that ended up working out pretty well for me in game, countering a lot of threats.

Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Icicle Crash
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Shard

Mamoswine is my normal lead, easy to set up rocks, and can outspeed a majority of other leads as well with the jolly nature. Normally I've been able to take out one or two pokemon while setting rocks up. However I'm not sure whether stone edge would be effective over Icicle Crash however.

Excadrill @ Assault Vest
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
- Rock Slide

Mainly used for rapid spinning, he's not used much except to remove hazards and hit hard with an earthquake or iron head. Rock slide is just there for good coverage. However I'm not sure if replacing rock slide would be smart or not, maybe for swords dance.

Gengar @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Bomb
- Destiny Bond

Gengar is very useful in taking out threats that my team cant handle with destiny bond. Mega-Kanga really used to hurt me until I set up a destiny bond. Normally using DB and then Focus blast really puts me in a good spot, if he switches then whatever comes in gets hit.

Venusaur @ Black Sludge
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Timid Nature
- Giga Drain
- Leech Seed
- Sleep Powder
- Sludge Bomb

Venasaur is very helpful on my team, mainly due to sleep powder and leech seed. If something comes in no one else can handle, I can normally count on my Venasaur to take a hit and put whatever it is to sleep, leech seed, and either recover more hp with giga or switch into something else.

Charizard @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Roost
- Outrage
- Flare Blitz
- Thunder Punch

I use to not like Charizard X over Y because of the Venasaur's chlorophyl, but a majority of the tine Vena can out speed anything I bring it in on, and Charizard X has been very powerful and helpful. I'm not sure if there are better options for it though, or better move sets.

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Shadow Ball

Rotom-W is fantastic in my opinion. It's easy to switch into, can burn and volt switch out, and even carries shadow ball for coverage (though there may be better options). I personally dont enjoy trick though, as I really like the leftovers on it.

So if there's anything you think I could/should improve on, let me know! :)

This looks pretty dang good for a first team. The first thing that catches my eye is that you have a defensive venusaur that doesn't mega evolve. If you aren't extremely attached to Charizard, I'd recomend swapping him out for another dragon and getting Vensuarite. The stat boosts and thickfat allow it do much more for your team in terms of blocking hits and staying alive.

As for exactly what should take Charizard's place, I think it really depends on what he's checking for the team right now. Garchomp and Dragonite are cool dragons, but if you're intending him as more of a grass type counter then perhaps you should look at an offensive Heatran.
Personally, I'd go for a flying Dragon as right now all of your pokemon that can stop ground moves are hit hard by mold breaker.

Hmm I was thinking Salamence or Noivern, however I don't really know a good move set for Salamence.

Salamence @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Spd / 64 Atk / 192 SAtk
Naive Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast

Here's last gen's mix mence set. You probably want a variant with fireblast since Charizard isn't around to flareblitz anymore.

Hello.
Your descriptions are too short to fit the RMT rules requirements.
I encourage you to PM me an updated version of this team with beefed up descriptions, and since you're new, to join the Mentor Program. I'll be unlocking this thread after that.

Have a nice day.
