ORAS OU First Team.

Hi, This is my first team I've made, i use it against my friends and wonder if there's a way to improve it even more. I'm also not too good at explaining so i'm sorry in advance if my explanation of a Pokemon don't make sense

possibly_evil_whimsicott_by_jangonian-d5ldtx5.png

Colin, Whimsciott
Nature: Calm
Ability: Prankster
Item:leftovers
Moves:
Giga Drain
Leech Seed
Grass Whistle
Moon Blast
Evs: 252 hp 252 sp.def 4 def

Role: I use Colin here, or as my friends call him Cotton Demon, as a Special Wall. I also use his Grass whistle to set up a safe switch in so my other Pokemon like Sally and Reaper can get a Dragon/Sword Dance in before they start Sweeping the other team. I can also as long as Colin has the type advantage slowly drain the opponents HP to heal Colin.
What Colin checks: Dragon,Water,Rock,electric,ground,dark,fighting
What Colin Can't check: Anything Fire, Steel, Flying,Ice and Posion

Scrappy, Arcanine
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Intimidate
item: life orb
Moves:
Extreme Speed
Wild Charge
Protect (thinking about close combat instead)
Flare Blitz
Evs: 252 atk 252 speed 4 HP

Scrappy is one of my Physical sweepers, I run a Life Orb on him as my style for using him is go for quick kills by out speeding the other pokemon. He's also used to bait with his protect to see what the other guy is planning. I Also use him to cut down the foe's attack stat, sadly as the fight goes on and he gets hit he becomes more of a suicide attacker or fodder for a swap.

What he Takes care of: Steel,Grass,Ice,Bug
What he does not take care of: Ground,Rock,Water

donphan_by_all0412-d4o17rb.jpg

Shasa, Donphan
Nature: Impish
Ability: Sturdy
Item: Soft Sand (would be leftovers but that's on Colin)
Moves:
Earthquake
Ice Shard
Stealth Rock
Rapid Spin
Evs: 252 hp 252 def 4 speed

Here's Problem Child number 1, currently take up 3 roles which is really making it hard to use. She's currently my Physical Wall, Hazard setter and remover, so I'm Thinking i should remove Stealth Rock, and make it a Physical Wall/Rapid Spinner and run this team without hazards(please give me feedback on how i can change her)

Okay, Now how i currently use Sasha is a Physical Wall That does 3 things, Damage with Earthquake and try to get the kill with +1 Ice Shard, Rapid Spinner Hazards away, or put up stealth rocks. I Have Found that Sasha makes a Great check for Poison types(the bane of Colin) and i can also have been used her as a way to break volt switches and deal with electric types.

Sasha Blocks the path of: Poison, Electric, and Rock
Sasha is Shoved away by Water, Grass and Ice

Reaper, Mega-Scizor
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Technician
item: Scizorite
Moves:
Bullet Punch
U-Turn
Swords Dance
Roost
Evs: 160 hp 92 atk 252 sp.def (i honestly have no idea what i was thinking on that HP/ATK EV spilt)

Reaper is my Special Defense Bulky STABer, after getting a Set up from colin and gettting swords dance off, Reaper can Basically OHKO or nearly kill anything that isn't Strong against steel moves. Reaper is one of my key sweepers as once she starts reaping souls, she is almost never stopped.

Reaper Collects the souls of: Fairies, Ice and Rock
Reaper is unable to reap: Fighting, fire, Ground.
and poison can't touch this

greninja_by_nurinaki-d773qgm.png

Shadow, greninja
Nature: Timid
Ability: Protean
Item: Expert Belt
Moves
Scald
Ice Beam
Grass Knot
Spikes
Evs 252 Sp. Atk 252 Speed 4 hp

Shadow is my problem child number #2, as it has a case of dual role too. Shadow is my Special Sweeper, using Protean and expert Belt to make the most of it's Constantly Type changing to Quickly bring down my foes. Shadow however can not take a hit so if he doesn't out speed the foe he really lives. Now The reason i put spikes on in the first place (besides to screw over those electric types) was to be a back up hazard setter for Sasha. I'm considering putting dark Pulse on instead of Spikes but i'm not sure if that put too much strain on Sasha if i keep her as is.

Shadow (water) deals with: Fire Ground Rock (weak to: Electric and Grass)
Shadow (grass) deals with: Ground Rock Water (weak to: Bug,Fire,Flying,Ice,Posion)
Shadow (ice) deals with: Dragon, Flying, Grass, Ground (weak to: Fighting, Fire, Rock, Steel)
Shadow (ground deals with: Electric, Fire, Poison, Rock, Steel (weak to: Ice,Grass,Water)

salamence1.jpg

Sally, Salamence
Nature: Naive
Ability: Intimidate
Item: Lum Berry
Moves:
Earthquake
Shadow Claw
Dragon Claw
Dragon Dance
Ev: 252 atk 252 spd 4 hp

Sally is my other Physical sweeper, like reaper with a set up from Colin and a dragon dance she can start wiping out the other team. I run Dragon Claw instead of outrage because i hate getting locked into a move, the lum berry stuck around since it worked for removing status to make sally go last. i run shadow claw in order to deal with those pesky Psychic types ( this is currently my only counter to them)
Once i get a dragon dance in i can out speed most Pokemon so earthquake can be used to kill off electric and fire poison rock and steel types with easy.

Sally deals with :dragons and Psychics(shadow claw)

Sally Takes Blows from: Fighting,Bug, Fire,Water, Grass(1/4)
and can't be touched by the ground

That's the team, I would love to get some constructive criticism back on this team as i'm not very experienced in the competitive meta like some of you on smogon are.

The Problems i see right now are, I've got some mixed roles for 2 of my Pokemon making them have a identity crisis and not be at full potential(atleast, i feel like i could make them better if i focused them). i have some items that while they work i think there is better out there for them (sally and Sasha).

also i am sorry for any typos (this phone and auto correct do not like me)

So here are the more obvious suggestions...

I can tell that you have been going by Nintendo DS rules, rather than Showdown rules. It is not really clear if you wanted to stick with the way Nintendo would have you do things or go with Showdown's Metagame rules. If you don't already know, the main differences are that Nintendo's restricts your team to only allow one Pokemon to have the same item, as well as, avoiding the use legendaries. Whereas Showdown deems certain legendaries as okay to use in competitive battling and bans certain Pokemon because they are unfair, or do not follow the spirit of competitive battling. An example of one of these Pokemon is Greninja. If you are hoping to battle this team with your friends on DS its no problem, but on Showdown Greninja would have to go. There are technically more rules that showdown requires you to follow.
Swagger Clause: Swagger is banned
Baton Pass Clause: Limit one Baton Passer, can't pass Spe and other stats simultaneously
Sleep Clause Mod: Limit one foe put to sleep
Species Clause: Limit one of each Pokémon
OHKO Clause: OHKO moves are banned
Moody Clause: Moody is banned
Evasion Moves Clause: Evasion moves are banned
Endless Battle Clause: Forcing endless battles is banned
HP Percentage Mod: HP is shown in percentages

Anyway, the simplest changes to make on your team would be:
1. Give Donphan an Assault Vest, instead of Soft Sand. You would lose rapid spin, but Scizor can solve the problem by using Defog.
2. Grasswhistle has 55% accuracy, that is dreadful in competitive play. A better set for him would be...

Whimsicott @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Substitue
- Encore
- Leech Seed
- Moonblast/Stun Spore

If you want an annoying Pokemon that slowly drains HP, Look no further. This Pokemon is seriously so annoying, I almost didn't suggest it because I hate playing it. If you predict a Pokemon to set up on you, hard switch in and simply Encore it.

3. A lot of people prefer HP Grass over Grass Knot on Greninja specifically for handling Rotom-W.
4. If you are not going to follow Smogon rules, change the Mega-stone from Scizor to Salamence. Mega-Salamence is seriously so good.
5. Just change Arcanines moveset to this..

Arcanine @ Rockyhelmet
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Morning Sun
- Will-O-Wisp
- Flare Blitz
- Extreme Speed

6. If you can get an Extra 8 EVS on your Pokemon, teach me how! Cause I can only put 4 on mine...

Now if you are really wanting to be competitive on showdown, this is how I see it

If I am hearing you right these are some of the problems you are having with your team....

1. Your only answer to Psychic types is Shadow Claw on Salamence
2. Donphan is preforming too many roles to be effective
3. Arcanine is more for scouting and suicide attacking rather than a physical sweeper
4. You are also unsure of the viability of entry hazards

Here is what I recommend to fix those issues and some additional input that you may not have considered.

Suggestion 1: Landourus solves so many of your problems. You could actually combine Arcanine and Donphan together and accomplish nearly the same things. Donphan is your Stealth Rocker and Spinner, your Electric Immunity, and Poison resistance. Arcanine is used for scouting and physical attacks. Besides Rapid Spinning, Lando does all of that and more with this set. U-turn would also be great for gaining momentum on your team, and Knock Off does work on Psychic types.

645-therian.png

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 8 SpD / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Knock Off
- Stealth Rock

Suggestion 2: Use Dragonite over Salamence. Dragonites ability is awesome. It allows Dragonite to take hits it normally wouldn't. Multiscale plus Extreme Speed are 100% the reason why Dragonite is OU, where as Salamence is only in UU. Also, you will still have Extreme Speed.

149.png

Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Extreme Speed
- Earthquake

Suggestion 3: Use Klekfi over Whimsicott. Whimsicott is in UU, while Klefki is OU. With this switch you maintain your fairy type with prankster, but also gain more team support.

707.png

Klefki @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Thunder Wave
- Play Rough

The list of viable Klefki movesets could go. If you really hate this set and you still really like putting Pokemon asleep why not use Amoongus, with 100% accurate spore, just sayin...

Suggestion 4: Greninja is Banded in OU, and will need a replacement. You probably still want a speedy special sweeper. I would go with Mega-Manectric. Not only is he faster than Greninja, but he also has a higher Special Attack. Mega-Manectric is currently on the top 5 list for MVP in the GBA if you are into that type of league. He doesn't have Protean as an ability, but he does have Intimidate. Or in other words, you can still have your dual Intimidators. Also, note that Manectric serves as a great counter to Talonflame, a Pokemon that you had no resistances to before.

310.png

Manectric @ Manectite
Ability: Lightningrod
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Overheat/Flamethrower
- Hidden Power Ice

Another potential fast special sweeper to take Greninja's place that has good defensive synergy with your team is Alakazam. If you didn't want to give up Scizor's Mega-stone, I think this set would be the best option to go with.

065.png

Alakazam @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power Ice

With these 5 Pokemon you still maintain:
-Dual Intimidators
-A Stealth Rock user
-A hard hitting Physical attacker
-An Extreme Speed user
-A Physical wall
-A fast special sweeper

You will lose:
-a Rapid Spinner (but you would still have defog)
-Grass Whistle (but it was only 55% accurate anyway)
-Spore immunity

You will gain:
-Volt Switch/U-turn to gain initiative
-STAB attacks that hit Psychic types (which by the way, I think you already had anyway with U-turn on Scizor)
-Less role confusion between your Pokemon
-a Ground Immunity
-Speed control
-Dual screens

Add whichever Pokemon you want for the sixth slot, when I practiced with this team I threw on Hoopa-U, just seemed like a good Pokemon, no real reason....

Here is the defensive synergy Before and After the changes.

Before.png

AFTER:
AFTER.png

Last of all, if you have the opportunity for entry hazards on your team, there is no reason not to take advantage of them.

Grenade Parade I suggest you to avoid double posting, instead, just edit your post.

Man, Greninja, is banned, so you wont be able to use it ( unless you play Wi-Fi but here we assume you use Showdown), we dont have item clause, you dont need to run shit like Soft Sand lol.

5 pokemon out of 6 changed...I wonder if it is still his team.

The changes aren't as drastic as they appear...

Dragonite is the OU version of Salamence. Klefki is the OU version of Whimsicott. Lando-T (OU) does what Arcanine and Donphan do together (both UU). Most importantly if he wants to be competitive on showdown, Greninja had to go anyway.... Why would he have 3 UU Pokemon on an OU team, when he could have 2 OU Mons that can do the same thing?

Besides, with my first post I left the option of keeping the original team members.... Did you even read my posts thoroughly?
