First time posting in the forum in general, so I apologize for any errors in formatting.
The whole point of this team is to whittle down the opposition using a strong defensive core, and switch initiative, to allow mega Absol or Crobat to sweep. So far, the team has worked out very well, even though it is really weak to hazards.
The big 6
Milotic @ Leftovers
Ability: Competitive
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Mirror Coat
- Scald
- Recover
- Ice Beam
I started the team with Milotic because I just like the gimmick of killing a Mon that gets volt switched out into using Mirror Coat. I felt that competitive is often forgotten about on milotic, which gives me an ace in the hole if anyone has an intimidating mon, or a defogger. With scald, it gives both of my defensive Mons a way to burn the opposition
Rotom-Heat @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Overheat
I really like what Rotom Heat has done for this team. It eats up Will-o-Wisps, and thunder waves. It is really great for giving me switch initiative, or burning an enemy. Typically milotic/rotom-H makes a great core in my experience. It does have issues dealing with really strong hitters like Mega Beedrill, but that's where the next mon comes in.
Cobalion @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Volt Switch
- Close Combat
- Iron Head
Cobalion for me is my comfort pick. I have felt for a while that this Mon is underrated, and ironically underused. Cobalion typically serves as my lead, since it's my only hazard setter on my team. The reason I really appreciate this Mon for what it does, is the typing works very well with my defensive core. most threats that can hit my defensive core, can not hit Cobalion. The Shuca Berry really can hurt a lot of mons that check Cobalion, like Mega Beedrill. Most importantly with this mon, I can keep the momentum in my favor with Volt switch.
Alakazam @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
- Encore
In order to avoid Being walled by certain Mons, Alakazam fills in a nice hole in my offensive presence. Having no way to remove hazards, having a strong Mon with Magic Guard really softens that weakness.
Sash makes for a great revenge killer, which really helps with the core concept of this team- Weakening the enemy to let one of my sweepers do their thing. That being said, Encore can really mess up a passive enemy, and let me get some damage using another Mon.
Crobat @ Choice Band
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- U-turn
- Cross Poison
- Pursuit
My first win condition. Typically not used as a sweeper, Crobat actually does a really good job. Most people assume that this is my defogger, which maybe it should be. I picked Crobat specifically because I personally get tilted by Conkeldurr. Choice banded Brave bird always Knocks out Conkeldurr from full. Having U turn also really increases my power to have a good matchup. Along with having Alakazam, It's very hard for an enemy to outspeed my team. Even a DD Feraligatr at +1 speed will not out speed Crobat's Brave Bird.
Absol @ Absolite
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Play Rough
I really like what Mega Absol brings to this team. First off, having magic bounce really allows for some mind games in the hazard control war. Since my biggest issue is hazards, it's nice to make it harder for the enemy to get up their rocks. Just by having a magic bouncer on the team, it can force your opposition to make sub optimal plays. Typically this mon will come out once it can sweep, which is surprisingly simple. Sucker punch gives this team some much needed priority. Since 4/5 mons have a way to get Absol out on a good matchup through volt turn and encore, getting a swords dance up is actually pretty plausible.
