First Time Back Since Gen 4 (OU RMT)

Hey guys! long time no see lol. After much persuading, one of my friends finally talked me into picking up Pokemon BW.... and so here I am, back into Competitive Battling!! It's taken a while to get used to the changes, but I think I've finally gotten comfortable enough to work on a dedicated Team to stick with, so here's what I've been working on so far!

The Scarfer

Spin Cycle (Rotom-W) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Trick

If I see there are no Grounds or anything super threatening, this little Washer is usually my Lead of "Choice"! This little guy makes up half of the infamous Volt-Turn Combo, messes up Walls, and is just all around annoying. Volt Switch and Hydro Pump are givens for nearly any Rotom-W and they are simply amazing. Many times I've just swept Late Game by Spamming Hydro Pumps. Trick can provide me a much needed swing in my favor Mid-Late Game if they happen to want to Set Up or attempt to Stall. HP Ice has been helping out tons. I now have an extra way to deal with Dragons along with something to reliably hit Gliscor.

Synergy:
The Water of my F/W/G Core, not to mention a great Revenge Killer and part of Volt-Switch.

The Set-Up Sweeper

640.gif

TsunDeer (Virizion) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge

Virizion is probably my number 1 favorite Poke from Gen 5 and I can't tell you how happy I am when this thing wrecks through 2+ Pokes with no worries at all! Dragons? Bulky Waters? Steels? this guy takes care of em all without blinking. In fact, if they have nothing that will 1-2HKO me, I usually will even Lead with this bad boy, get a SD up, and proceed to sweep several Pokes easily. Leaf Blade and Close Combat are some great STABs that provide excellent coverage along side Stone Edge. I've chosen Lum Berry in order to stop things like Jellicent or Rachi from coming in expecting to cripple me. Instead they now meet their death to Leaf Blade and CC, respectively.

Synergy:
The Grass of my F/W/G Core and one hell of a Sweeper. Quite a good counter to opposing Rotom-W as well.

Rocks + Switches

485.gif

Furnace (Heatran) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 100 SDef / 160 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Lava Plume
- Protect
- Toxic

- Stealth Rock

So far the SpDef Heatran has been treating me well. Spreading Status is never a bad thing and both Toxic and Lava Plume do it no problem. Lava Plume is also here for the obvious STAB, but just like Scald, we all know that 30% Burn Chance is magically higher ;D. Toxic + Protect can really break down some Walls and hinder Stall along with Protects usual functionality to Scout and give me some free Leftovers. Also, now that Rotom-W has HP Ice I don't really miss the ability to counter Dragons. Rocks are Rocks and are very good to have on any team, and as such, this is another good choice for me to lead off with. Getting those Rocks up early can make or break a game if it comes down to the wire.

Synergy:

The Fire of my F/W/G Core. This thing causes so many switches it can be insane. Eats Fire aimed at Virizion and Scizor like nothing.

The Dragon

381.png

Ragnarok (Latios) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Dragon Pulse
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Psyshock

Latios can hit like a freakin' truck! personally, I'm loving the Expert Belt in order to fake the Specs/Scarf. It has won me quite a few Games allowing me to easily clean up Late Game where as a Choice Item would have lead to a crushing defeat. As most of you have suggested, Dragon Pulse has been doing great. Still kills everything that Draco did, but now let's me be more careless with it and not have to continually switch out. Along side Surf and HP Fire, that nets me Perfect Coverage making Latios a serious threat to any opposing Team. Psyshock used to be Recover, but more often then not, I don't have that free turn to heal up, whereas Psyshock let's me keep up my destruction even when some Spec. Wall decides to show their face and try to rain on my parade.

Synergy:
Dragon to go along with Scizor/Heatran for perfect resistances. This guy can punch holes through unprepared Teams.

Scizor, Duh!

212.gif

B!tch Plz (Scizor) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Pursuit

oh look, a CB Scizor! yep, nothing super exciting going on here lol. Scizor lets the team have the oh so annoying Volt-Turn Combo to keep the games momentum in my favor. She also covers all of Latios' weaknesses and vice versa which is quite handy. Bullet Punch is a given considering this is Scizor, Superpower allows me to handle other Steels and Blissey with ease, and Pursuit destroys those Ghosts you see pop up every once in awhile along with any Lati that you know is Choice'd.

Synergy:
Steel to go along side Latios for perfect Resistances and other half of Volt-Turn. The Standard CB Scizor who can cause lots of problems for anybody.

Back To This Guy lol

472.gif

Nananana (Gliscor) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Taunt
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang

Went back to him once again. After giving him a 2nd chance, he's proven to help out much more than hurt. Last time he was here Taunt was Protect, but Taunt has given me a Game or 2 so far already shutting down a Chansey and Ferrothorn. Swords Dance of course can let him Sweep if they can't stop him. Earthquake is just a great STAB move that can hit hard, while Ice Fang let's me hit Levitate Users and Flying Types, most notably Dragons, who would otherwise be Immune to EQ. It also lets me deal with opposing Gliscor if I've already gotten to Set Up.

Synergy:
Can stop Stall along with being a great overall Bulky Sweeper and Psy. Wall.

ztufs7.png
: Rotom-W, Scizor, Heatran
v771ph.png
: Rotom-W, Latios, Virizion

Help:
Still not 100% sold on Gliscor being the 6th Member of the Team however this time he's done much much better. My main concern is he gives me 3 Weaknesses to Ice and EVERYONE should be carrying some form of Ice/Dragon to deal with Dragons.

Importable:
Spin Cycle (Rotom-W) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Trick

TsunDeer (Virizion) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge

Furnace (Heatran) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 100 SDef / 160 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Lava Plume
- Toxic
- Protect
- Stealth Rock

Ragnarok (Latios) (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Dragon Pulse
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Psyshock

B!tch Plz (Scizor) (F) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spd

- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Pursuit

Nananana (Gliscor) (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Taunt
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang

Final Words:
So this is the Team guys! Hopefully I've done a decent job... though it has been a year or so without me playing much lol. definitely can't wait to see what fixes you guys can think of!

Since you aren't using choice on Latios, Dragon Pulse over Draco Meteor So you won't have to switch when you really didn't need to.

I agree with Lasers that you should use Dragon Pulse over Draco Meteor.

As for for your 6th Pokemon issue, here's a potential solution:

Togekiss @ Brightpowder
Nature: Timid
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

~ Air Slash
~ Aura Sphere
~ Nasty Plot
~ Shadow Ball

Togekiss with Serene Grace is annoying beyond belief, and I enjoy exploiting that. Air Slash gets STAB and the chance of flinching goes up, a major inconvenience for whomever your opponent is. Shadow Ball has a chance to lower your opponents Special Defense, and paired with Nasty Plot, it hurts. And of course, you can't have Togekiss without Aura Sphere, a great, reliable attack. This is my favorite kind of Togekiss to use, and I hope you enjoy it too.

I recommend you to use a specially defensive Heatran because your team doesnt need a fully offensive heatran
Heatran Leftovers Calm
Moveset
Lava Plume
Stealth Rock
Protect
Toxic
248 HP / 100 SpD / 160 Spe

I think a Bulk Up Scrafty could work over Conkledurr, for a few reasons. First is Scrafty's higher Special Defense (though HP is a bit on the low). Second is Scrafty's Dark DTAB, namely a very strong Crunch opposed to a rather mediocre PayBack. With Shead Skin, Scrafty is also harder to take down with status. An effective set would be Bulk Up, Rest, Drain Punch, and Crunch (no Ice Punch because Gliscor is scared of your team).

Another actually nice thing is Scrafty's Fighting weakness: this gives Latios more opportunities to come in, fire off or bluff moves, and ultimately deal more damage to the opponent. Conk doesn't do that. Lastly, note that the loss of Mach Punch is not huge; the prime target is Terrakion IMO, which Scizor's Bullet Punch handles. Anyway, good luck!

Hi, cool team. I suggest you use Air Balloon instead of LO on Heatran, as it gives you a line of defense against Dragonite. I also suggest Hp ice over Grass on RotomW as it allows an additional line of defense against Dragonite, and other Dragons.

Hey,

A first thing I notice is that CB Terrakion could cause problems for your team, if Latios ever went down. You're adding too much pressure of Latios to take hits, eventually wearing it down. When he's out of the game, nothing at all will be able to easily switch into a Choice Band boosted STAB Close Combat. I think Gliscor > Conkeldurr would be favorable to your current team. It will add insurance to your team, and it allows you the ability to wall physical threats that could be a nuisance to your team. Here's the set.

472.gif
@ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spe
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
~ Swords Dance
~ Earthquake
~ Ice Fang
~ Taunt

Gliscor can set up Swords Dance on anything that can't touch it. Poison Heal is a very useful ability that helps its survivability. Earthquake and Ice Fang are both coverage moves that will be hitting pretty hard after a couple of SD boosts. Taunt ruins Ferrothorn and Skarmory. I'd also recommend Dragon Pulse > Draco Meteor for Latios, since switching out will be a pain. It will also leave you open to being Pursuit bait. Finally, Air Balloon > Life Orb would be beneficial in order to beat Landorus and Dragonite. Well, I hope my rate was helpful, and good luck!

~ Expert Physics

I noticed that if dragonite sets up a Dragon Dance it will pretty much fuck you up. So change Rotom's Hidden Power to Ice just for the revenge killing purposes, plus it hits celebi for super effective damage and that's always good.

Very nice team you got there but I do see Turn/Switch strategies tearing your team apart. Rotom-W´s can scout Virizion and send Scizor where your main sweeper is put in an awkward decision since Scizor can survive CC; Bullet Punch will dent Virizion and U-turn will either KO if it stays, or as you switch to another counter, Scizor still gains momentum for the opponent. To solve this problem, my suggestion is to replace Conkeldurr for Gastrodon.

423.gif

Gastrodon (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Toxic
- Scald
- Recover
- Earthquake

Even with min Sp.Def EVs, most Water-type pokemon without HP Grass still fail to deal significant damage to Gastrodon, making him a second check to Rain in your teams. The Defense EVs allows Gastrodon to avoid a 2HKO by CB Scizor´s U-turn (41.5% - 48.8%), making him an excellent stop to Turn/Switch strategies.

My second suggestion would be to replace Life Orb for Air Balloon in Heatran. With the Air Ballon, your team gains more by giving more chances to Heatran for setting up Stealth Rock. Since your Rotom-W lacks HP Ice, an Air Balloon makes Heatran an excellent Dragonite check avoiding an occasional Earthquake too.

My final suggestion is to change the EV set of Scizor to 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 Sp.def. With the given EV spread, Latios fails to 2HKO Scizor with Specs Draco Meteor making Scizor more reliable to deal with him. It still packs a punch, so you should definitely test it out.

Hope this helps :).

Thanks for all the replies everyone! I'll be testing out all of these suggestions today and should have an update ready a bit later on :D

EDIT:
Updated the team! I've been doing well with HP Ice on Rotom-W, Dragon Pulse on Latios, SpDef Heatran, and Gliscor over Conkeldurr. Gliscor only worries me since he gives me 3 total Weaknesses to Ice, though I do also have 3 Resistances lol.

Bump!

added an Importable, fixed some grammar/spelling, and just other small tweaks. any final tips/fixes guys? the Gliscor is still doing quite well with Taunt :D
