Hi, potential raters!
First of all I have to say some things about the team:
1. Im spanish, so my english could have lame grammar and some misspells.
2. Like you alredy know if you took a second to read the thread name, its the first time I post a team in the forums. I don't want to say that you should be too critic, please be. Just saying.
3. This is the team I play in my 3DS. And I dont like cheating, so i trained all my pokes breeding them and everything. Aaaand I ashamed to say that I dont really have a copy of B2/W2. So I couldnt use move tutors of that gen, or just anything avilable before XY. Also its impossible getting a Keldeo (Damn GTS).
Well, I start now.
I wanted to create a Zard-Y team (its the archetype I prefered at plain sight), so the first pokemon was obvious.
- SMAUG (Charizard) #CharizarditeY @Timid -Blaze
EVs: 252SpAt 4SpDef 252Spe
Fire Blast
Solar Beam
Focus Blast// Air Slash
Roost
Standard build. Just maxed damage and speed. The 4 last points used at SpDef because its SDef is better than Def, and I like redundancy. No earthquake because like you'll see, i have another 2 members with it. Roost for recovery. Solar beam cuz its awesome, Fire Blast because if you have a ZardY without Fire Blast you are doing something wrong. Focus blast for coverage, but maybe I could change it with Air Slash for STAB and help vs MegaVenusaur.
I needed a defogger/rapid spinner, obviously. Zard Y suffers too much from stealth rock. Right now the only viable rapid spinner is Excadrill, and the only viable defogger that I could get in XY was Mandibuzz (Swanna and Braviary lol). Aegislash is in my opinion the most powerful pokemon right now in OU, and Mandibuzz is my favourite check versus him, so...
YOKO(Mandibuzz)#Leftovers @Impish -Overcoat
EVs: 248HP 156Def 108SpDef
Roost
Foul Play
Defog
Knock Off // Taunt // Toxic
Defog is the reason Mandibuzz got in, so that was obvious. Roost is always awesome in walls, for recovery. Foul play is in my opinion the best move in Mandibuzz, because it allows her to ignore her horribly offensive stats and hit hard physichal sweepers. The last slot is the one I have trouble with. Knock Off is an awesome move, and Mandibuzz is one of the few pokemons that dont get it frome move tutor in 5th gen, but it wont deal tons of damage with Yoko's Attack. Taunt cripples walls and allows me to defog without fear of being set up again. And toxic is toxic.
The EVs are pretty simple. Max HP (4 less to hit a hazard number) 108 SpDef so I dont get 3HKOed by Focus Blast landorus, and the other points go to Def, so I can wall all day.
I needed a birds counter (Thundy, Talonflame,Mega Pinsir...), and more important, a pursuit trapper to get rid of these annoying lati twins. So...
DAENERYS (Tyranitar) #Choice Band jolly -Sand Stream
EVs: 252At 4SpDef 252Spe
Pursuit
Crunch
Stone Edge
Earthquake
I wanted her to hit as hard as possible, so Choice Band was the item. I thought about adamant nature, but she was so slow, i choose Jolly over it. The moves are pretty easy, pursuit for trapping, crunch for stab and neutral damage versus lots of things, and Edgequake for coverage. The EVs are just like Zard's, but in Attack.
I looked at the top threats, and I thought I needed an answer to Zard-Y and MegaMawile, as they both could just obliterate my team so far. Landorus-T has an awesome ability in Intimidate, and fit well in my hybrid offense-deffense kind of team, at least in my mind... And also i was lucky enough to get a Impish one.
LANDORUS (Landorus-T) #Impish Leftovers -Intimidate
EVs: 140Def 248HP 122At
Earthquake
Stone Edge
U-Turn
Brick Break
The EVs are created just to keep him bulky without losing offensive power. Max HP, and the minimum defense needed to dont be OHKOed by Icicle Crash Mamoswine (after Intimidate obviously). The Edgequake duo acts well enough here, U-Turn allows him to act as the offensive pivot he is, and as I couldnt have Knock Off, Brick Break was a nice coverage as my Tyranitar doesnt have Superpower.
After seeing my team I realised it had a serious problem with Water types, and I had no special walls. Also, something that resisted Ice types seemed cool. I could only think about two pokemons fitting there. And i seriously hate Jellicent
ENE (Rotom-Wash) #Leftovers Calm -Levitate
EVs: 248HP 8Def 252SpDef
Volt Switch
Hydro Pump
Thunderbolt
Pain Split
The EVs max special bulk, nothing specil here.
As in the moves, Volt Switch works very well paired with Landorus UTurn, and makes a good offen-defensive duo. As Volt Switch couldnt be the only Electric move used (requires me to switch) I put Thunderbolt. Hydro Pump was pretty obvious in a RotomWash. For the last slot I wanted a recovery move, so pain split seemed like the best option.
Aaand in the last slot I thought i needed a Revenger Killer, as well as a Ghost type.
JOKER (Gengar) #Modest @Choice Scarf -Levitate
EVs: 4HP 252SpAt 252Spe
Shadow Ball
Sludge Bomb
Dazzing gleam
Thunderbolt
Welp. I have to explain something here? Coverage. Damage, speed. Thats what I want, thats what I get. Also the only fairy move in the team, as I needed it.
