First time on Smogon. How's my team?

Infernape-Lead
Naïve
~ Close Combat
~ Fake Out
~ Hidden Power Ice
~ Flamethrower
EV- 64 Atk / 252 SpA / 192 Spe
Focus Sash

Infernape is there to take out the common Ground and Ice-type leads. Close Combat to take out T-tar and Weavile, and Hidden Power Ice to deal with Hippowdon and the like. I slapped on a Focus Sash because I'm a bit paranoid about my Lead/sweeper getting taken out early because of some silly miscalculation I may have made.

Donphan
Impish
~Stealth Rock
~Roar
~Earthquake
~Rapid Spin
EV- 252 HP / 6 Atk / 252 Def
Leftovers

This is a really neat support that I came up with. Found out later, it's in the Strategydex. Anyways, that Rapid Spin is one of the more useful moves in the game for clearing out all those spikes, toxic spikes, and stealth rocks that are always around. Roar is simply there to rid me of something I can't handle, and more importantly, to scope out the rest of a team.

Togekiss
Modest
~Air Slash
~Tri Attack
~Aura Sphere
~Fire Blast
EV- 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Choice Specs

I like Togekiss. There, that's it. Everybody knows how she works.

Weavile
Jolly
~ Pursuit
~ Ice Shard
~ Brick Break
~Aerial Ace
EV- 4 HP/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spe
Choice Band

Weavile is here because I like to have some kind of extreme back up plan. Tossing in a Weavile generally scares a switch in and that's when Pursuit does its terrible damage. I have on Aerial Ace because its a really different option that not many go for, so its unexpected and diverse.

Brongzong
Relaxed
~ Light Screen
~ Reflect
~ Earthquake
~ Explosion
EV- 252 HP / 152 Atk / 8 Def / 96 SpD
Light Clay

So when I was making this team I discovered I was totally wall-less. Being able to lay down a protective wall is really nice because for some reason, few people put a Brick Break on their teams any more. The Explosion is of course a last ditch suicide thing.

Gyarados
Adamant
~ Dragon Dance
~ Waterfall
~ Ice Fang
~ Stone Edge
EV- 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Life Orb

On the two Shoddy battles this team has played (both lost) Gyarados ended up being a late game sweeper. Every time, I got multiple Dragon Dances in and took out at least two challengers before falling. The moves are diverse enough and of course Life Orb makes it all the sweeter.

Why not add some comments underneath each Pokemon? If you neglect to do this, you're not bound to get any useful information (and it ticks off the mods to boot).

SoT Edit: RayePenbur, fix up the togekiss description or I'll delete the thread. Sound good?

Welcome to smogon raye. Let's start with your lead. Infernape is a great lead but there is some problems. First, HP Ice isn't needeed because there aren't very many pokemon you will be hitting with it. Well, Ttar isn't that common and weavile is all but gone. Hippowdon can OHKO you with EQuake and finish you off with sandstorm damage while Infernape fails to score even a 2HKO with HP Ice which actually might do less damage than cc but the point is you will lose to him. If you want a more anti-lead approach then give him grass knot instead. It lets him 2HKO hippowdon and swampert. Fire Blast is usually what you want to use because of the lack of the extra power boost from life orb.

Next we have donphan. He is a bit outdated in the current generation so you might want to use a sweeper instead or someone like metagross to get down sr. Try using:

Metagross@Occa
Adamant
252 HP/ 228 Atk/ 12 Def/ 16 Spe
-Meteor Mash
-EQuake
-SR
-Explosion

This is pretty much the exact same thing as lead gross. He is just as capable at getting down sr and can get at least one KO if you send him out at the right time. Send him in against something such as scizor and get down sr. The you can usualy manage to defeat a heatran or infernape thanks to occa berry. Afterwards you just simply explode, hopefully taking someone else down with you.

You didn't give much info on togekiss so I'll ignore it for now.

Weavile is a big no no. Everyone and their mother is slapping scizor onto their teams and it completley destroys weavile, especialy choice varients. If your locked in pursuit scizor can just u-turn, forcing you to switch and give your opponent the advantage or get OHKO by u-turn. In its place I would actually suggest a scizor of your own. CB will play the same role as weavile just a bit better with less weakneses and much better typing. He can also scout early game which is helpful.

Scizor@CB
176 HP/ 252 Atk/ 80 SDef
-Bullet Punch
-U-turn
-Superpower
-Pursuit

Pretty basic set. Extra bulk in SDef allows him to handle +1 Latias' surf. BP for picking things off and sometimes managing to sweep. U-turn for scouting while superpower will let you get some OHKOs on heatran and magnezones on the switch.

Now remember-you don't need a wall in order to make a team work. Infact, with the meta being how it is your better off playing ofensive or running pure stall as anything in between won't work as well. Once you put more explanation on togekiss, I'll have an idea on what pokemon will fit this spot.

Well first off let me say that you should have tested this team far more. You said yourself-you've only done two battles. You should at least take part in about 30 before posting a team so that way you'll have a better idea of your team and will be able ti fix things your self. Change Gyara to Bulky or give him stone edge instead of ice fang and a bit more description. GL

any variation of gyarados walks all over this team, regardless of whether or not he gets in a DD or not. you have no one on your team capable of countering him. i suggest replacing togekiss with either gengar or one of the rotom appliances to help cope with the gyara problem.
