ORAS UU First UU Team 1350~

Hey Everyone,
New to UU and wanted to make a Bulky offense team.

The team is
Conkeldurr/Swampert/Krookodile/Sylveon/Cresselia/Entei

I started with Conkeldurr because well hes manly bulky, hits hard and hes who i wanted to base my team around. He status soaks, Bulky Spdef, punchs holes in alot teams. I use the basic set i decided on Thunder Punch over Ice punch/Poison jab because Salamance is no longer UU leaving ice punch to only check Gligar, And Tpunch checks UU's Bulky Water mons.Poison jab just seemed to niche.

Conkeldurr @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off
- Thunder Punch
- Mach Punch

Next I chose Swampert.Mega-Swampert Physically defensive set.I'd like to think Conkeldurr and swampert have some good synergy, Swampert handles the strong physical attackers that force conkeldurr out IE: Mega Aerodacytl,Swampert,Metagross.Conkeldurr can handle pokemon like Snorlax/Suicune and other pokemon who could setup on him or status him. Another Standard setup Scald to spread burns. EQ for the stab. Rest for recover i dont have anyone to wish him back to health

Swampert @ Swampertite
Ability: Damp
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Stealth rocker and I realize my team so far is slow. REAL slow.Krookodile sounds good. Gives my team an intim, rocks checks psychics for conkeldurr and if i remove the faster pokemon he can usually be a win con. Most of his weaknesses are covered by the rest of the team. Knock off most switchins dont want to tank it, if they have justified on their team EQ works wonders Stealth rock for the obvious reasons. Pursuit to trap psychics.

Krookodile @ Dread Plate
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Stealth rock
- Pursuit

Sylveon, great wallbreaker makes a great core with krookodile. Sylveon's issues with Steels/fires and Cresselia are solved Krook. I went with a more bulky IV spread to not get punished by Phsyical attacks. Hyper Voice stabs, Psyshock for Walls, HP fire for Steel's that think they are outpredict me, Baton pass for pursuit. Im not sure thats the best IV spread but its worked.

Sylveon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 56 HP / 200 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Baton Pass

Cresselia the bulkiest of my team. Serves as a switch in for EQs.Cresselia/Conkeldurr have good synergy. Conkeldurr checks Hydregion who would threaten her, soak status that would eventually force out.Cresselia takes any of his potential psychic threats and handles them. Her potential to setup and sweep is a great win con. I went for a balanced EV spread.

493.png

Cresselia @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 244 HP / 108 Def / 156 SpD
Calm Nature
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock
- Moonblast
- Moonlight

Could'nt decide what i needed more a hazard remover or a priority/revenge killer. I went with the latter, Banded Entei considered Arcanine in this spot for another intim and similar set But Sacred fire won me over. Another win condition.

244.png

Entei @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sacred Fire
- Flare Blitz
- Extreme Speed
- Stone Edge

Threats..Not Really good with those but so far ive noticed

Mega Aggron: With any healing support i dont have a way to get rid of him quickly. He checks sylveon by being steel, Cresselia doesnt hurt him. Hes just annoying to deal with.

Entry Hazards: No Removal I dont know how viable it is to run without any.

Faires: Florges/Sylveon put alot of hurting on my team.

So, Thats my First Attempt at a bulky offense UU team. Excited to see opinions on this setup.

Hey man, that's a solid looking team. the first thing imma suggest is that you go with CB conk instead of assvest. assvest is only really good on regen, as a lack of any reliable recovery means you're easily worn down. conk should be hitting hard, not tanking too many hits.

next, entei needs to be switched out for a hazard remover. I'm gonna recommend bulky support crobat. 248 hp/ 48 def/ 212 speed with a jolly nature. these outspeed +1 adamant gatr while maximizing physical bulk. I'd recommend Defog/roost/u-turn/brave bird. running 2 or 3 choiced mons isn't usually a good idea. the bat gives you hazard removal, which p much every non-HO team needs. otherwise, you get shit on by hazard stack, which will quickly wear down your mons. your team doesn't hate tspikes but it doesn't love em either.

this frees up your mega slot for a set which can be an early game wallbreaker or a wincon, depending on your matchup. I'm gonna recommend rain dance megapert. 252 attack/4spD/252 speed with an adamant nature for maximum smashing potential. I'd recommend a moveset of RD/waterfall/EQ/ice punch

hope these help! also feel free to ignore em if you don't like em haha

Also what would be the CB conk EV spread?
CB conk gives you Mach punch, which can revenge a lotta stuff. I'd use a spread of 132 hp/252 attack/124 speed with an adamant nature. this lets you live hits from CB crook and maero, while also outpacing uninvested base 60s (like sylveon). you could also run jolly to outspeed uninvested suicunes, but the lack of power+possibility of speed creep means it's prolly not worth it

Ya was looking at the damage differences between AV Conk and CB conk its pretty crazy. Im confused how how adding crobat Frees up a mega slot, But i do like the win con swampert idea.

that was a typo lmao, I meant that it frees up megapert to go on a rainy rampage instead of checking physical attackers.

This is a pretty solid team for your first time in UU. I think that what could make some your mons absolute monsters and really hard to revenge kill is sticky web. Idk if you'd want to replace any of your team with either Shuckle or Galvantula, since your mons all have pretty good synergy with one another, but what could make your Krookodile, Sylveon, and Entei sets truly terrifying is allowing them to outspeed anything bar flying types and hydra. As far as this team goes, nice work! The only thing that might hurt is your lack of a water switch-in, but the ubiquity of scald over hydro pump and Conkeldurr kind of eliminates that worry. Great team!

I like the idea of sticky web ill have to give it some thought

It's really fun and useful! Just make sure you have a way to stop spinners (I use chandy) or use shuckle if you're worried about defog. But again, great team!

Cool looking team! I would recommend this set and spread for your Mega Swampert...

Swampert @ Swampertite
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 104 Atk / 92 Def / 60 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

You have a weakness to Celebi and your current set is an easy switchin for Celebi (who is really popular right now) and other grass types. Ice punch instead of scald lets you damage those switchins more letting you potentially get by them easier. This spread also lets you speed creep a base 45s like Conkeldurr and still retain bulk and power. 104 evs along with Adamant nature let it 398 is just one shy of max attack Jolly natured Swampert.

I'm also stuck with my idea on changing the team around to fit in a hazard remover and still retain stealth rocks without changing too much of the team. I really think spD Mandibuzz over Krookobile could work but then you would lose rocks and some offensive pressure. The other idea I had was Life orb Mamoswine instead Krookodile with rocks. It would give you rocks along with power and priority which may help a lot.

Sorry I wasn't able to help more but I do hope you try out that Mega Swampert set.

Cheers and good luck

that megapert set is not a good celeb check; besides, megapert shouldnt really be running resttalk on a team like this anyway. Also, rocks mamo isnt v good. 4 attacks is where its at.

It's not designed to be a check at all, it's meant to damage it decently so that his other mons have an easier time finishing it off instead of giving free turns. And rest talk on his team does work as without it, he has no way to handle Entei with the potential burns or Darmanitan. Especially with your suggestion of getting rid of Entei who is a soft check to itself. And Rocks Mamo is effective, it's a role compression thing which he needs to accomplish the team goals without changing too much. The priority Ice Shard could help against Celebi and Mega aero and others.

Just me thoughts.

YouthBerry I'll try that set never thought about ice punch for the grass switch in.
lightninging Really Have liked the sweeper win con swampert and MAN does CB conkledurr hit like a truck
Pendragon70 Toxic orb would be keeping the same power as CB and id just be on a timer from toxic but i wouldnt be choice locked into anything right?

I don't think his Conkeldurr is supposed to be statused, more or less just switch in on possible WoWs or Toxics. Without assault vest, his Conkeldurr is susceptible to strong fast special attackers, which is something a lot of people that run Conk worry about.
