First UU Team: Heavy Offense

478.png

Froslass (F) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Destiny Bond
- Shadow Ball
- Spikes
- Taunt

Froslass can usually get one or two layers of spikes and a cheap kill with destiny bond. Her spikes really help the team and taunt can shut down opposing leads.

31.png

Nidoqueen @ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 100 HP / 252 SAtk / 156 Spd
Timid Nature
- Earth Power
- Flamethrower
- Ice Beam
- Stealth Rock
Nidoqueen's stealth rock helps out the team more often than his attacks. SR + Spikes really wears the opposing team down and can lead to a sweep by his teammates. However Earth Power + Beam + Flamethrowe is deadly combined with Sheer Force and can be a great special sweeper, as well as a great defensive mon.

625.png

Bisharp (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Defiant
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Substitute
- Iron Head

Bisharp helps take care of Ghost types and help Heracross sweep with Close Combat and Moxie. Swords Dance skyrockets Bisharp's Attack and Sucker punch makes up for his ok speed to take out Ghost types and Psychic types. Iron Head is just secondary STAB and Sub to block burn.

330.png

Flygon (F) @ Choice Band
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Outrage
- Fire Punch

Really all I have to do is click Outrage and watch as Flygon puts a big dent in anything that's not steel type. EQ takes care of pesky Steels and Fire Punch gets Bronzong. U-turn is pretty handy, but the move I use most is Outrage.

474.png

Porygon-Z @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Download
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Tri Attack
- Dark Pulse

Porygon-Z is a great revenge killer and can OHKO almost anything after a Download boost. Basic moveset with STAB, BoltBeam, and Dark Pulse to hit Ghosts that Bisharp didn't already get.

214.png

Heracross (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Aerial Ace
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

CC + Moxie= gg. After hazard damage and the rest of the team wearing down the enemy, finally Heracross can come in and destroy the opposing team. Like Flygon most of the time it's just click Close Combat. Stone Edge for Crobat and the like, EQ for grounded poison types and Aerial Ace just in case an opposing Heracross tries to sweep.

Hey nice team, here are some things I think may help to make it better:

1. I think most of the people that frequent the RMT forum would say that Nidoking is outclassed by Nidoqueen. She can take hits much better, and can more reliably set up Stealth Rocks. I would recommend using this set for her:
Nidoqueen @ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 100 HP / 252 SAtk / 156 Spd
Timid Nature
- Earth Power
- Flamethrower
- Ice Beam
- Stealth Rock
Even with that little amount of health investment Nidoqueen is able to comfortably survive many things, like a Heracross Earth Quake, a Victini Zen Headbutt, and at least one scald from any water type it faces. I think Flamethrower is more important than T-Bolt, but you may end up changing it depending on your preference.

2. Replace Earthquake on Heracross to Megahorn, as the last thing you want is to lock yourself into a move that so many pokemon in the tier are immune to.

3. Your team is really weak to Scarfed Mienshao. Once you lose Froslass a Mienshao can come in and 2HKO/OHKO everything on your team. I think that Bisharp should be replaced by either Crobat or Zapdos. I'm a bigger fan of Zapdos, but a lot of people praise Crobat as one of the best things in UU. Here are sets for both of them:

Zapdos:
Zapdos @ Life Orb
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Heatwave
- Hidden Power (Grass)
- Roost

Crobat:
Crobat @ Black Sludge
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 176 HP / 98 Atk / 98 Def / 136 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- U-Turn
- Taunt
- Roost

Thanks, Nidoqueen is a really big help to the team and can sponge hits very well as well as hit back hard and do all else you said, plus she is really better than Nidoking at getting Stealth Rock up. Nidoqueen is also very useful as a defensive pivot of sorts and really helps. I kept Bisharp, however as he is a great mon and he'll really dent any opposing team. I have yet to be swept by Mienshao so I will continue using the team as is, with Bisharp as a great sweeper.

I'm glad that you're using Nidoqueen now, it definitely will help you. But I still really don't agree with you about Bisharp. Any decently made team will have a way to stop a pokemon so dependent on Substitute and Sucker Punch. Anything with Substitute beats Bisharp, anything with a fazing move beats Bisharp, and any Steel type (especially Cobalion) beats Bisharp.

Honchkrow is a much better option if you still want a Sucker Punch-er. It doesnt need at least two turns to become a threat, it is a threat whenever its on the field. Its Flying typing alone makes it a very big threat in the tier, Sucker Punch and Superpower also greatly help for taking out pretty much everything else. Here's the set:

Honchkrow (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Defiant
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Sucker Punch
- Superpower
- Pursuit

I still also stand by my recommendation of Zapdos/Crobat as well.

I recommend Medicham instead of bisharp. It provides a great offensive core with heracross. Also get rid of ariel ace and EQ for megahorn and night slash. Nidoqueen already puts opposing heracrosses in check and night slash does more to ghost types.

kk. Let me chime in here.

Froslass and Queen are good as is. They're both fine sets. And fuck yeah, Nidoqueen>Nidoking.

That said, if you really want to keep Bisharp, I would recommend an EV spread of 52 HP / 252 Atk / 204 Spe. This gives up HP, yes, but also provides Bisharp enough Speed to outpace Xatu and Defensive Arcanine, which is pretty decent. Also, I may recommend Low Kick over Iron Head in order to hit Cobalion and Registeel for s'more serious damage. I know Bisharp's a pretty solid Pokemon nonetheless (I use it, so I can speak), but if you don't want to let it go, then here's the EV spread.

However, if you're willing to replace it, then maybe Zapdos or Crobat could do. Not so sure though.

And not to be rude here, but I am appalled as to how Medicham and Heracross pair well together at all. They have fairly redundant typing overall, and their attacks do not complement each other. They don't cover each other's weak points and that gets their ass handed to Sableye, Cofagrigus, etc. I doubt Medicham makes for an even halfway decent replacement for Bisharp.

Flygon and P-Z are good as is.

As for Heracross, I would recommend Megahorn over Aerial Ace. It provides great secondary STAB, allowing Heraboss to hit Mew, Azelf, and the rest for some serious damage, while maintaining good power. Also dump EQ for Night Slash because you'll need a way to hit something like Cofag or Chandy for some.

Just my two cents.

Pokemon like bronzong and Cofagrigus are are hit hard with Hi jump kick and Psycho cut respectively. Check this page: http://www.smogon.com/bw/pokemon/medicham/uu

Hi there. This looks like a pretty solid team, and CB Flygon is awesome so props for using that.

Firstly, you lack a way to deal with fire types. Darmanitan with a scarf can straight up shred your team to pieces, as you lack a solid switch in, as can arcanine and victini.

Therefore, I recommend running Rhyperior over Nidoqueen. Although queen is an excellent poke, Rhyperior fits so much better on spikes stacking teams as it helps immensely against fire types and arguably deals with electric types much better than queen.

You also lack a spin blocker outside of lass, which is a suicide lead. Fighting types also look like a bit of an issue as well, as you lack a solid resist now that queen has been replaced.

Therefore I recommend using OTR cofagrigus over Porygonz. Pz isn't doing much at all, asyou already have a scarfer in Heracross. OTR cofag destroys all fighting types with ease, and gives you a second spinblocker, which you need if you want to beat blastoise.

Finally, you need a solid way to 1HKO blastoise. ATM, even though you have two spinblockers, it can quite easily spin against you. You are also quite weak to bulky waters in general, such as Milotic, suicune and swampert.

I therefore recommend using SubCM Raikou over Bisharp. Bisharp isn't all that good in this metagame imo, and it doesn't carry pursuit so can't surefire eliminate ghost types for heracross. It also dies to basically any fighting type. Raikou really abuses the spikes support to the max-rhyperior, nidoqueen, snorlax all take full damage from spikes. HP Ice raikou can also deal major damage to almost all of heracross's counters, such as Gligar, Cofagrigus, zapdos, crobat and the mighty dusclops.

Here is a summary of changes and the sets for cofag, raikou and rhyperior.

Rhyperior over queen
Raikou over Bisharp
Cofagrigus over Porygonz

Rhyperior @ Leftovers
Trait: Solid Rock
EVs: 248 HP / 16 Atk / 244 SDef

Trait: Mummy
EVs: 252 SAtk / 248 HP / 8 Def
Quiet Nature
IVs: 2 Spd / 30 Atk / 30 Def / 30 SAtk / 30 SDef
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Trick Room
- Nasty Plot

Raikou @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 Def
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Hidden Power [Ice]
GL and I hope I helped with the team.
