First XY OU Team(Laddered 1500+)

Hi, so this is my first OU team for XY. Played a ton of competitive about 2 years ago, but none since. Anyways came back last week and put together this team that I have been doing fairly well with.

Starmie
Item: Choice Scarf
Ability: Analytic
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- Hydro Pump / Surf
- Rapid Spin
- Trick
- Psyshock / Thunderbolt / Ice Beam

One of my favorites, Starmie provides the much needed rapid spin for those pesky rocks, as well as a PERFECT bait. Considering most walls switch into starmie, tricking them is a perfect way to rack up free wins. I can't tell you the number of times people have forfeited after scarfing their Clefable or Ferrothorn. In addition, Starmie has a wide variety of moves that can leave a dent in most of the OU meta.

Heatran
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Stealth Rock
- Will-O-Wisp
- Roar

Heatran is a perfect wall to many huge threats. It's ability to counter massive threats like Charizard-x, Talonflame, most dragons, is invaluable. In addition, will-wisp+roar combo, ensures nothing sets up against this full-defensive wall. Like most teams, stealth rocks are a must to make sure that the enemy continues taking residual damage each time they switch in.

Talonflame
Item: Choice Band
Ability:Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Tailwind

This monster hits like a truck and its ability, gale wings, gives it a massive STAB+priority move at its disposal. When I enter battles, I think of one thing, what will it take for talonflame to sweep his team? This basically means no stealth rocks. Like I said before, Starmie allows talonflame to freely enter the battle without losing half its health.

Venusaur

Item: Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll (Thick Fat)
IVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpDef
Nature: Calm / Bold
- Synthesis
- Giga Drain
- Leech Seed
- Sludge Bomb

While, it doesn't exactly serve a specific point, I just love venusaur and is and has been one of my favorite of all time. Considering A lot of my other pokemon get destroyed by special moves, particularly surf/hydro pump and ice beam, Venusaur is able eat all of it up and heal it off. Although, in most battles, I rarely find myself needing to send him out, so out of all my pokemon this is my most flexible one. Truthfully though, I just love slowly starving out the enemy.

item: Leftovers
ability: Guts
Adamant Nature
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpD
- Drain Punch
- Bulk Up
- Stone Edge
- Payback

Conkeldurr is one of those pokemon that takes a hit, and hits it back harder. After a bulk-up or two, Conkeldurr can easily sweep most teams with its massive attack stats as well as sustain from drain punch. Because of his naturally defensive stats, Conkeldurr is able to set up those much needed bulk-ups.

Adamant nature
Item: Lum Berry
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252atk/252spe/4hp
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Fire Punch
- Extremespeed

A favorite from B/W, Dragonite is easily the bulkiest dragon out of all. With it's ability multiscale, it can easily set up one dragon dance and proceed to demolish the enemy team. The biggest enemy to dragonite are stealth rocks, scarfers, and fairies. Starmie allows this baby to switch in, and scarfed users like latios and garchomp are destroyed by talonflame's priority brave bird. The only issue are fairies, most of which can be taken care of by the rest of my team.

Well, this is my team, haven't played too much x and y, but I am definitely enjoying the no-weather meta. So far I am around 1500-1550, but hopefully will be able to rise higher. Any suggestions and recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading!
