Fish Oil (Peaked #10, 1376)

Mostly, I'm posting this team because the spring semister has started and I'll have like no time to play, college is a pain in my nuts. The name is completely arbitrary; it's an inside joke that arose between my girlfriend and I, and so I used it as my laddering alt. This team followed my general building process; pick random shit, hope it works, build a new team. I often build three to four teams when I decide to devote time to laddering, but I digress. This team has been pretty successful, not my best team, but not that bad. I'm pretty sure I could have gotten higher, but I have not time. The team's two main sweepers use methods of increasing their speeds to incredible levels while maintaining good attacking power. The team also uses a bunch of somewhat unpopular sets of popular pokemon. That's enough rambling, here's the team.

Hitmonlee (M) @ Normal Gem
Trait: Unburden
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Fake Out

I love Unburden Lee. It wrecks lots of ass. Pretty much, after a bit of wearing on the other team, Lee can sweep with relative ease. It outspeeds everything and has great coverage. Fake Out+Normal Gem allows me to (almost) always activate my Unburden and proceed to wreck shit. This thing tears through offensive teams, OHKO'ing Flygon, Raikou, and many other offensive threats. Close Combat is used for STAB. I don't use Hi Jump Kick because I hate missing and laready have Stone Edge for that. QuakeEdge is a good attacking combination, though I wish Lee had Ice Punch. Yeah, Unburden Lee is awesome, more people should use it. Really the main sweeper of the team.

Hitmontop (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Sucker Punch
- Rapid Spin

Best Hitmontop set there is. Fuck Foresight, I kill Mag's and Chand's like nothing. Yeah, I kind of forgot 4 EV's, but they don't really matter. Close Combat is good STAB coming off of 317 attack. Top retains good bulk through Intimidate and its good base Special Defense. Stone Edge is good good for hitting Ghosts on the way in, and Sucker Punch helps me keep Choiced Chandlures in check. Rapid Spin is good for, you know, spinning. Top is pretty cool, I'm done with Blastoise.

Kingdra (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Dragon Pulse
- Draco Meteor
- Rain Dance

Rain Dance Kingdra is pretty cool. It hits really hard, and good Water resists are hard to find. Even things that do resist water probably won't be able to survive Hydro Pump+Draco Meteor. The EV's are pretty obvious, maxing Kingdra's special attack, while still having rediculous speed with Rain Dance. I was thinking about changing Dragon Pulse to Ice Beam, but then water types are harder to deal with. The best thing about this is that everyone expects Kingdra to be physical and then they get ass wrecked. I hope people don't start using this, because it's really hard to counter and better than the Chesto Rest set.

Chandelure (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]

Subsplit sucks. CM sucks. This is the way to go. Even though there are better "sweepers" on the time, Chand is usually the MVP. It puts so much pressure on the opposing team. It can revenge kill most unboosted threats and really has great typing. This works best when utilizing double switches. Pretty much, Fire Blast and Shadow Ball are the only attacks I use since they have great coverage. I guess Energy Ball is good for catching Swamperts and stuff, but other than that, it's pretty useless. HP Fighting is good for Houndoom's, and this one time I faced a mono-normal team. The EV's are pretty obvious. Super boss.

Roserade (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Leaf Storm
- Sludge Bomb
- Rest
- Sleep Powder

Roserade is pretty good. Often times I don't even use it, but when I do NEED it, I'm really glad it's there. At first I used the spiker set, but that was gay, so I changed it. I like the power this set brings and Sleep Powder usually works well. Putting stuff to sleep is good. Leaf Storm does a lot of damage to like, everything. Sludge Bomb is good for most stuff that resists grass. I like Roserade, but she's not broken. Oh yeah, Rest is for recovery, and she has no better options till she gets Technician.

Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Stealth Rock

I like Swampert, he's pretty damn bulky. He's got good typing too. Mostly, I use him for Rocks though. I use Ice Beam for no particular reason, but I feel like it's better for Flygon and stuff, and Earthquake hits Roserade as hard as Ice Punch anyway. Waterfall is pretty cool and it hits pretty hard if Rain is still up. Earthquake is for more STAB and stuff. He's my main check to random attackers and is usually sacrificed to bring in Hitmonlee for a late game sweep. He's pretty useful.

So, this is the team. It's been pretty good and I don't usually lose unless I get haxed. Some things like Yanmega are a pain in the ass. Pretty much if it has Giga Drain and Kingdra is gone I lose. I can't really think of any other things that are too big a deal. Rate or hate or whatever. Also, here's an importable because cool people do that.
