Pokemon 1:Volcarona (Speical Sweeper)
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Flame Body
Nature: Timid
Move 1: Butterfly Dance
Move 2: Bug Buzz
Move 3: Fiery Dance
Move 4: Hidden Power(Ice)
Ev: Sp.A 252/Sp.D 4/Spe 252
- Pretty basic set for Volcarona. Butterfly Dance to boost Sp. A, Sp. D, and Speed when given the opportunity.
- Bug Buzz to take out Hydreigon and Reuniclus in a 1 or 2HKO depending on how my Butterfly Dances I get along with most other Psychic or Dark types I can think of.
- Fiery Dance while contiuing to raise Sp.A will 1HKO anything weak against it after one Butterfly Dance. After 2 Sp.A boosts it can 1 or 2HKO anything that's not resistant to it.
- HP Ice varies a little from the usual set in order to deal with potential problems like the three genies. It helps that they are all weak against the same thing. Even so eq Landorus can be a problem depending on where its ev's are placed.
Pokemon 2: Amoonguss (Punching Bag/Support)
Item: Black Sludge/Heat Rock
Ability: Effect Spore
Nature: Calm
Move 1: Spore
Move 2: Rage Powder
Move 3: Giga Drain
Move 4: Sunny Day
Ev: HP 252/D. 252/Sp.D 4
- A What? To the many of you that just checked serebii's 5th gen list, yes, I'm talking about that annoying mushroom thing. While at first glance this pokemon seems like crap with not so great stats and very small movepool it can pull of a great punching bag/ support set while other pokemon set up to sweep.
- Spore and Rage Powder give the other Pokemon plenty of time to set up 1 or 2 boosts.
- Since I mainly have this guy paired with Volcarona for the time being. I have Giga Drain to help with water types and Sunny Day to make Volcarina Monsterous.
Pokemon 3: Haxorus (Physical Sweeper)
Item: Choice Scarf
Ability: Mold Breaker
Nature: Jolly
Move 1: Dragon Tail
Move 2: Earthquake
Move 3: Outrage
Move 4: Rock Slide
Ev: HP 4/Att. 252/Spe. 252
- While Haxorus has an awesome attack stat it is cursed by it's slow speed and lack of any fire moves. Fortunately for him most of Haxorus' Counters were in previous generations. About the only thing Haxorus has to worry about now is Hydreigon.
- Dragon Tail while not very useful against scarfed Hydreigon it gets rid of anything that may check Haxorus (Can't think of any right now *facepalm).
- Earthquake is there for steel types such as Cobalion looking to check and levitaters like Eelektross (and if lucky a Hydreigon witch in).
- Outrage to take out all dragon types save scarf Hydreigon. and finally Rock Slide for the flinch and to hopefully catch guys like Chandelure by surprise.
Item: Lum Berry(didn't know what else to give it, suggestions please!)
Ability: Justified
Nature: Impish
Move 1: Sacred Sword
Move 2: Stone Edge
Move 3: Iron Head
Move 4: Swords Dance
Ev: HP 252/D. 4/Sp.D 252
- My goal with Cobalion was to make him as bulky as possible but still have the potential to sweep if needed.
- Sacred Sword will can easily take out walls like Ferrothorns and perhaps other Cobalion.
- Stone Edge mostly for flying types (two of the genies) and fire types like Chandelure if it doesn't get killed first.
- Iron Head for the sake of STAB/flinch.
- Finally, Swords Dance in order to have an effective sweep. I admit i haven't thought this guy out enough yet but I think he has potential in this role.
