Overview
########

Florges is one of the newly introduced Pokemon in XY, and it's not hard to see why it's very good in the UU tier. It has excellent special bulk and a decent HP stat, making it a good special wall. In addition, its fantastic Fairy typing gives it an immunity to Dragon-type moves, which sets it apart from other special walls such as Umbreon, as well as granting it a plethora of resistances to common offensive types, which aids it in taking on many physical attackers in the tier such as Mienshao and Heracross. It also has an decent Special Attack. In addition, Florges has access to Aromatherapy and Wish, which allows it to heal itself, while also making it a great team supporter. However, Florges has a poor Defense stat, making it very vulnerable to physical attackers, and it can barely touch Steel- and Poison-types. It also has two useless abilities in single battles, and hates Taunt and Trick, as both render it practically useless.

Defensive
########
name: Defensive
move 1: Moonblast
move 2: Wish
move 3: Protect
move 4: Aromatherapy / Toxic
ability: Flower Veil
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 SpD
nature: Bold / Calm

Moves
========

Moonblast is Florges's STAB attack, which threaten many prominent threats in the tier such as Hydreigon, as well as preventing it from being total Taunt bait. Wish is Florges's only means of recovery, and it can be used to heal its teammates as well. Protect guarantees Wish recovery, as well as letting Florges scout the opponent's next move, and gain some recovery from Leftovers. Aromatherapy removes status from the team, and increases its longevity if it were to get burned or poisoned. However, Toxic can be used as it puts a timer on walls and deadly sweepers.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread maximizes bulk and allows Florges to check Honchkrow more efficiently by avoiding the OHKO from Brave Bird. Leftovers provide passive recovery, slightly increasing Florges's longevity. A Bold nature is preferred to further increase Florges's Defense; however, a Calm nature can be used to increase Florges's special bulk. Either ability is usable, as they are both useless in single battles.

Usage Tips
========

Switch into things Florges can easily wall, such as Hydreigon, but use Protect to scout a Choice locked move or super effective move, in Hydreigon's case, Iron Tail. Use Wish and Aromatherapy sparingly, as against more defensive teams they can be very valuable. Using Toxic on predicted switches is nice as well.

Team Options
========

Florges very easily fits on defensive or balanced teams that are not weak to Poison- or Steel-types. Specially defensive Mew makes a good partner, checking Nidoqueen and Nidoking. In addition, Ground-types such as Krookodile make excellent partners as they can remove the Poison- and Steel-types that trouble Florges. Steel-types such as Jirachi and Forretress make good teammates as they too can take the Poison- and Steel-type moves aimed at Florges; the former can benefit from Aromatherapy, and can check Nidoking, while the latter can set up entry hazards on opposing Steel-types. Slowbro and Suicune can handle Fire-types such as Darmanitan and Entei that try to switch into Moonblast, while Mega Aerodactyl also makes a good partner, taking out the Fire-type Pokemon that threaten Florges.

Other Options
########

Florges can use a Choice Specs set as it has a decent Special Attack, but it is quite slow. Sunny Day and Rain Dance can be used, letting Florges function as a weather supporter, though weather only lasts for a few turns, and Florges would miss the passive recovery of Leftovers if its item is replaced. Energy Ball allows Florges to hit Slowbro, Swampert, and Suicune, but it has little use other than that. A 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD with a Calm nature can be used to allow Florges to check and counter many special attackers in the tier, but leaves it vulnerable to dangerous threats such as Honchkrow. A Calm Mind set can also be used, though Florges has no other means of reliable recovery besides Wish and Protect, which takes up two moveslots, the former taking a turn to activate.

Checks & Counters
########

**Poison-types** Poison-types such as Nidoking, Crobat, and Roserade resist Moonblast and can hit Florges hard with their super effective STAB moves. Crobat in particular can Taunt Florges and cripple it.

**Steel-types** Steel-type Pokemon such as Forretress and Jirachi resist Moonblast and are immune to Toxic. The former can set up entry hazards, while the latter can use Iron Head.

**Fire-types** Fire-types such as Victini, Darmanitan, and Entei resist Florges's STAB attack, and can force it out with their respective STAB moves.

**Bulky Water-types** Bulky Water-types such as Suicune and Slowking can easily switch into Moonblast and set up Calm Mind alongside Florges, the former having the Pressure ability and Rest, while the latter fears Toxic but has Psyshock to hit Florges's poor Defense stat.

**Taunt users** Taunt users such as Azelf stop Florges in its tracks and render it setup bait.

**Phazing moves** Phazing moves such as Whirlwind and Roar prevent Florges from healing with Wish, as they go through Protect in XY.

iirc the correct ev spread for the defensive set is 252 hp/232 def/24 sdef, calm/bold. it lets you get a stat jump on either stat. also, expand the team options section. spdef mew is a great partner for checking nidos, so are forretress (who sets up hazards on steel types) and mega aero (who can counter fire types). i have never used the CM set, so i'd like input from other qc members on this, so i'll approve this later.

If I were you, I would replace "decent special attack" with excellent special attack, as 112 is actually pretty good.
And put some more investment in HP than speed on the Calm Mind set.

The Speed EVs allow Florges to always outspeed minimum Speed Roserade, and thanks! I'll change that. :D

Florges is one of the newly introduced Pokemon in XY, and it's not hard to see why it's very good in the UU tier. It has excellent special bulk and a decent HP stat, (78 kinda isn't decent) making it a great wall. In addition, it's fantastic Fairy-typing gives it an immunity to Dragon-type moves, which sets it apart from other special walls such as Umbreon, as well as a plethora of resistances to common offensive types, which aid it in taking on many physical attackers in the tier such as Mienshao and Heracross. It also has an excellent Special Attack, (bit iffy on the word excellent) and can boost it further with Calm Mind, as well as making it almost untouchable on the special side. It Florges also has access to Aromatherapy and Wish, which allows it to heal itself, while also making Florges it a great team supporter, as well as healing itself. However, Florges has a poor Defense stat, making it very vulnerable to physical attackers, and can barely touch Steel- and Poison-types. It also has two useless abilities in single battles, and hates Taunt, (RC) and Trick, as it both makes it practically useless.

Defensive
########
name: Defensive
move 1: Moonblast
move 2: Wish
move 3: Protect
move 4: Aromatherapy / Toxic
ability: Flower Veil
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 SpD
nature: Bold / Calm

Moves
========

Moonblast is Florges's STAB attack, and KOes many prominent threats in the tier such as Hydreigon as well as preventing it from being total Taunt bait. Wish is Florges's only means of recovery, and it can be used to heal its teammates as well. Protect guarantees the heal from Wish Florges gets to heal itself with Wish, as well as letting Florges able to scout the opponent's next move, and heal itself stall out with Leftovers. Aromatherapy removes status from the team, and increases Florges longevity if it were to get burned or poisoned. However, Toxic can be used as it puts a timer on walls and deadly sweepers.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread lets allows Florges's get a stat jump on either stat, (Unsure what you meant by stat jump so I left that bit unchanged, though I feel it needs a bit of tweaking) allowing it to check many Pokemon in the tier. Leftovers provide passive recovery, slightly increasing Florges's longevity and makes Florges very hard to wear down. A Bold nature is preferred to further increase Florges's Defense., (Remove period, AC) however, a Calm nature can be used to make increase Florges's special bulk even higher. Lastly (Lastly is so....ew) Any ability on Florges is usable, as they are both useless in single battles.

Usage Tips
========

Switch into things Florges can easily wall
, (AC) such as Hydreigon, but use Protect to scout a Choice locked move or super effective move, in this Hydreigon's case, Iron Tail. Use Wish and Aromatherapy sparingly, as against stall-based teams, (RC) they will be a very valuable moves. Using Toxic on predicted switches is nice, unless the opponent switches into a Poison- or Steel-type Pokemon, if you predict that, switch into a check or counter. (Not really sure about this sentence, I suggest you go over it again. Also, the stuff about "switching into a check or counter" is kind of assumed and therefore redundant.)

Team Options
========

Florges is very easy easily to fits on defensive or balanced teams that are not weak to Pokemon such as Nidoking and Roserade. (Maybe you could just say Poison- and Steel-types rather than giving examples?) Specially defensive Mew makes a good partner, checking Nidoqueen and Nidoking. In addition, Ground-types such as Krookodile make excellent partners as they can remove the troubling Poison- and Steel-types that trouble Florges. Steel-types such as Jirachi and Forretress also make good teammates as they too can take on the Poison- and Steel-type moves aimed at Florges.; (Remove period, add semi-colon) the former can benefiting from Aromatherapy, and can check Nidoking, while the latter can set up entry hazards on opposing Steel-types. Slowbro and Suicune can handle the Fire-types such as Darmanitan and Entei that try to switch into Moonblast., (Remove period, AC) while Mega Aerodactyl also makes a good partner, taking out the Fire-type Pokemon that trouble threaten Florges. (You've used the verb "trouble" a bit too much in this paragraph, so I changed it to threaten).

Other Options
########

Florges can use a Choice Specs set, as it has a decent Special Attack, though but it Florges is quite slow, and is outclassed by Gardevoir in this regard. (Get rid of the Gardevoir thing since it's banned) Sunny Day and Rain Dance can be used, letting Florges function as a weather supporter, though weather only lasts for a few turns, and Florges would miss Leftovers if its item was replaced with the respective weather duration item. Energy Ball allows Florges to hit Slowbro and Suicune than any other move, though it has little use other than that. A 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD with a Calm nature can be used to allow Florges to check and counter many special attackers in the tier, but leaves it vulnerable to dangerous threats such as Mienshao and Heracross. (Hera and Mien? Keep in mind Florges is a fairy-type, and while with no investment in defense it still isn't OHKO'd by either, and can even protect on Mien's hjk) A Calm Mind set can also be used, though Florges has no other means of reliable recovery besides Wish and Protect, which takes up two moveslots, the former taking a turn to activate.

Checks & Counters
########

**Poison-types** Poison-types such as Nidoking, Crobat, and Roserade resist Moonblast and can hit Florges hard with their super effective STAB moves. Crobat in particular can Taunt Florges and
prevent it from being useful cripple it. (Poison-types are immune to Toxic too)

**Steel-types** Steel-type Pokemon such as Forretress and Jirachi resist Moonblast and are immune to Toxic. The former can set up entry hazards, while the latter can use Iron Head and flinch Florges until it faints. (Iron Head is a 2HKO and Moonblast does literally nothing to Jirachi so this part is redundant)

**Fire-types** Fire-types such as Victini, Darmanitan, and Entei resist Florges's STAB attack, and can force it out with their respective physical STAB move
s.

**Bulky Water-types** Bulky Water-types such as Suicune and Slowking can easily switch into Moonblast. They both can set up Calm Mind alongside Florges, the former having
the Pressure ability Pressure and Rest, while the latter fears Toxic but has Psyshock to aim at Florges's poor Defense stat.

**Taunt users** Taunt users such as Azelf stop Florges in its tracks and renders it setup bait.

**Phazing moves** Phazing moves such as Whirlwind and Roar prevent Florges from doing its job well and prevents it from healing by Wish, as they go through Protect in XY.
(If you can, I think it'd be a good idea to elaborate C&C a bit more, as right now it's kind of barebones.

I didn't know what a jump point was either until today, and from an smogon article it says, "A jump point is a stat point which gives a more efficient use of EVs than usual. This happens to stat points which are divisible by 10 and are then boosted by a nature. This is because the game usually rounds down stat points not divisible by 10 when boosted by a nature. When a stat point is divisible by 10, the game does not need to round down and the stat is boosted by an extra point." I don't really know how to explain it in my analysis. ;-;

Just write that 'Maximum HP investment and the given EVs allow Florges to check so and so more efficiently, avoiding the NHKO from so and so'

was this on irc because there needs to be more transparency than that .-.

seriously, this qc team may be "good players" but the few that know nothing about the process:
"Add this set"
Its bad from my experience
"Oh, I havent used it but I heard people talking about it in OU so I thought it would be good"

Should at least learn

Hi, shouldn't the part in checks and counters for "Taunt Users" be:
"Taunt users such as Azelf stop Florges in its tracks and render it useless."
instead of "renders"?
Sapphire.
