Encore allows for Whimsicott to lock otherwise game winning game-winning sweepers like Victory Dance Hisuian Lilligant and Dragon Dance Dragapult into their setup options, enabling Whimsicott or its teammates to remove them. Moonblast provides a form of offense for Whimsicott, allowing it to threaten Dragon- and Dark-type threats such as Archaludon, Roaring Moon, and Sableye. Stun Spore grants Whimiscott a vital form of speed control, slowing down foes like Sneasler, Gouging Fire, and Dragapult. Alternatively, Tailwind grants provides (repetition of grants) long term speed control and is useful when to use before Whimsicott is going to go down KOed (makes the point a bit clearer). Heavy-Duty Boots allows for Whimsicott to safely enter the field, while Pixie Plate enables Whimsicott it to 2HKO Archaludon.

Ogerpon-H serves as a vital ally, being able to handle Poison- and Steel-types that beat Whimsicott such as Alolan Muk, Amoonguss, Heatran, and Gholdengo. Ogerpon-H also appreciates Whimiscott paralyzing Sneasler and Tornadus-T (RC) allowing so it to cam check them. Alternatively, Ogerpon-C can be used to nail Fire- and Flying-types such as Ninetales, Ogerpon-H, and Gouging Fire that cause Whimsicott trouble while also appreciating Tailwind to outspeed +1 Volcarona and Gouging Fire with a Speed boost from Protosynthesis. Choice Scarf Meowscarada provides an incredible form of speed control, being able to check threats such as Choice Specs Flutter Mane and Choice Scarf Gholdengo (RC) which that cause Whimsicott issues (RC) while benefiting; (ASC) it also benefits from Stun Spore, enabling it to outspeed Choice Scarf Dragapult. Amoonguss provides a solid defensive pivot for Whimsicott, being able to as it can absorb Toxic Spikes should Whimsicott opt for Pixie Plate (RC) along with being able to use using Foul Play on a setup threat such as Swords Dance Ceruledge to remove it once hit with Encore. Amoonguss can also use Sludge Bomb to take on Fairy-types like Hatterene that can deflect Whimsicott's utility via Magic Bounce. Lilligant and Breloom appreciate Whimsicott's Encore, granting safe setup opportunities and (RC) in response (RC) can use their Fighting-type STAB moves to deal with Ice- and Steel-types such as Kyurem, Alolan Sandslash, and Hisuian Goodra in return. Hydrapple appreciates Whimsicott removing Dragon-types like Roaring Moon and Raging Bolt and, in return, can use its Fire neutrality and Earth Power to take on Fire-types like Heatran, Hisuian Arcanine, and Iron Moth. Sinistcha similarly provides a Fire neutrality along with a Poison neutrality, enabling it to take on threats such as Sneasler, Clodsire, and Zamazenta with Calm Mind and Strength Sap.
