Flygon Ownage

Hey guys! It’s me back with my third RMT on the forums here. I decided to use some creativity on this team because it seems everyone is using the same Pokémon over and over again. This team is based on one of my favorite Pokémon, Flygon. I will be using a Choice Scarf set and trust me, this thing can work wonders. So without further ado, let the RMT begin!

Flygon @ Choice Scarf

Levitate
Jolly
252 Atk/Spd 4 Hp
-Outrage
-U-Turn
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake
Meet Flygon! The star of this team. It has recently been shunned due to Garchomp. Forgotten in OU. This thing has some great perks over its enemy Garchomp. Levitate is what makes the difference here. It lets him get a free switch in on Ground attacks aimed at Infernape. It can also get a free switch from Electric attacks aimed at Vaporeon. In my opinion, the best set of this pokemon is the Choice Scarf set. This has been the difference between winning and losing some matches. Two fantastic STAB moves make this thing deadly. U-Turn when wanting to deal some damage and get that switch. Stone Edge for some coverage. I really wish more people used this thing. Overall, Fantasic!

Infernape @ Life Orb

Blaze
Hasty
252 Atk/Spd 4 Sp Atk
-Overheat
-Mach Punch
-U-Turn
-Stone Edge
Ah, Infernape. Starting to be used on all of my teams. This thing is a great Pokémon to have on any team. I saw the Ice weakness that Flygon has and I thought he would fit perfect. Great mixed sweeping stats powered by Life Orb will dent nearly anything. 2 great STAB moves. Quick question, Why Mach Punch Over Close Combat? I would have used Close Combat but this is my only means of priority making it a better revenge killer as well. U-Turn for scouting and switching out on those Psychic types. Stone Edge for coverage although it seems to miss when I need it to hit. If you are weak to SkarmBliss combo, this is the Pokémon for you.

Tangrowth @ Leftovers

Regenerator
Relaxed
252 Hp/Def 4 Sp Def
-Giga Drain
-Sleep Powder
-Leech Seed
-Hidden Power(Fire)
The physical wall of this team. Why the hell would you pick this shrub? Actually, I have found this thing to be a great physical wall. Everyone is expecting Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and the other common walls so they don't know how to deal with this thing. Not to mention it has a great perk over other walls. The blessed DW ability Regenerator. It is very hard to take down once it sets up. It has so many means of healing itself it seems impossible to take down. Sleep Powder to set up. Leech Seed to get some more HP back. Then Hidden Power to deal with those other walls I mentioned earlier. Again, I wish more people would use this as a wall.

Espeon @ Light Clay
Pokemon_Espeon_by_Dinamara.png

Magic Bounce
Timid
252 Spd/Hp 4 Def
-Reflect
-Light Screen
-Hidden Power(Fire)
-Psyshock
This Pokémon fit my need completely. I did not want to set down my own hazards and I did not want my opponent to set them down on me. Magic Bounce lets me set down hazards using it against them. Looking at the item, you can tell that this is the Dual Screen version of Espeon and I love it. My team really needed that screen support. Psyschock to deal with special walls and Hidden Power Fire(again). It used to be HP Fighting but I noticed this thing to be walled by Pokémon that were weak to fire. Therefore, I made the change and it has been working better for me completely.

Togekiss @ Leftovers

Serene Grace
Calm
252 Hp/Sp Def 4 Def
-Thunder Wave
-Roost
-Air Slash
-Aura Sphere
How dangerous can something this cute be? Watch out! Don’t be fooled by its looks, Togekiss will beat you to the ground when it gets the chance. I absolutely love this Pokémon. I have had this thing sweep entire teams. Serene Grace on this thing makes it so good. If it gets Thunder Wave off, you are pretty much screwed. You will either be flinched to death or just rage quit(this thing causes many). After being paralyzed, if Togekiss uses Air Slash, you have a 15% chance of getting a move off. A crazy 60% chance of flinching from Air Slash is just ridiculous. I have no freakin idea why this is UU. Roost to heal up after taking major damage. Then Aura Sphere if super effective move. WARNING: May Sweep Entire Teams And Cause Many Rage Quits.

Vaporeon @ Leftovers

Water Absorb
Bold
252 Def 248 Hp 8 Spd
-Wish
-Protect
-Surf
-Toxic
Oddly enough, yes I am using two eeveelutions on the same team. This used to be Gengar but he just wasn’t cutting it. Not having a Water type was hard for the old team. Then I remembered this thing. Since the Wish mechanics changed, this mon was perfect for my team. This thing can Toxic stall like a boss. Gets free switch ins on Water attacks then does its magic. Toxic the opposing mon then stall it out. Wish or Protect depending on the damage taken. Then whittle down the opponent using Surf. Yes this mon is a great staller and I would recommend this to any team in need of a water type.

Some last notes:
First off, if you are at this point I thank you for reading my RMT. Your job is not done yet. I really would like some feedback. Next, you have noticed that this is not the same as every OU team out there. I try to use some creativity to stand out in the competitive environment. If you are recommending a Pokémon PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO MAKE MY TEAM STANDARD. Maybe one or two Pokémon but please do not try to make this into a team with Heatran and Scizor and all those other insanely common mons. Even tell me if you would like me to change something on the style of my RMT. Lastly, I am not a fan of having 3 pokemon with the same item. I would greatly appreciate other options for items. Thank you for reading and please RATE MY TEAM!

Hi There! I like the originality of this team, but there are some glaring problems.

First of all, you have no steel type. This can cause problems because while Tangrowth can take many physical hits very well, it will usually fold to powerful dragon type blows. To fix this, I would reccomend Forretress over Espeon. Forretress can switch into outraging dragons with little to no problems, taking some of the stress off of Tangrowth. Forretress also provides you with a more reliable hazard source. (A very sommon SR user is Tyranitar, which you would be crazy to switch Espeon into.) Similarly, Forretress can come into many of the same threats as Espeon can, even better in some cases (Skarmory, Ferrothorn, etc.)

Forretress @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 SpA
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Hidden Power Ice
- Volt Switch / Gyro Ball

Hidden Power Ice hits things like Choice Scarf Salamence hard, which is getting popular, Dragonite, and SubProtect Toxic Gliscor, which can stall out every member of your team. It doesn't do that much to things like Latios and Haxorus, which is why you can use Gyro Ball over Volt Switch for a STAB. Be sure to use a Relaxed Nature and 0 Speed IVs if you do use it.

Adding Forretress makes you rather weak to Sun, so I'd suggest giving the Scarf to Infernape as Scarf Infernape outspeeds common Sun threats such as +1 Volcarona, Modest Venusaur, and Victini. Obviously, you should replace Mach Punch to Close Combat. You may also want to try Flare Blitz over Overheat as it will do more damage to things like Jirachi, it also allows you to more reliably revenge Volcarona without that nasty 20% miss chance as Flare Blitz in the sun OHKOs Volarona even without Stealth Rock.

Remove the Scarf from Flygon now. I'd imagine you woudn't want to replace Flygon with Salamence, so try this mixed Flygon set so you can still break past through some walls:

Flygon @ Life Orb
Rash / Naive Nature
84 Atk / 252 SpA / 168 Spd
~ Draco Meteor
~ Fire Blast
~ Earthquake / Roost
~ Outrage / Roost

84 Attack EVs guarantee a 2HKO on Blissey with Stealth Rock through Outrage. Earthquake hits Tyranitar and Jirachi harder than Draco Meteor and Fire Blast.

Togekiss is pretty cool and all, but right now you're using it as a less effective Jirachi. Try a defensive set of Nasty Plot, Air Slash, Roost, and Aura Sphere (or Heal Bell). With 252 HP, 196 Speed, 56 SpA, Modest. which is overall more effective than you have now, as it has more power and it not as easily walled. With this Spread, you outspeed 244 speed pokemon (Jirachi, Celebi, Gliscor, etc. ) and as a result, Timid Magnezone which is huge.

For a minor change, Power Whip is superior to Giga Drain in most cases because it hits Tyranitar, politoed, and terrakion much harder than Giga Drain. (Power Whip actually has a good chance of OHKOing Terrkion, while Giga Drain can even fail to 2HKO in sandstorm)

Good Luck with the team!

Thanks for the rate! I am not a fan of Forretress but I will test it out. I will also test Power Whip on Tangrowth. Otherwise, I don't really see the point of tbe other changes. I have fought plenty of Jirachi and had no problem. Togekiss has swept entire teams more than once so I am content with this set. I will trt the other one but I will most likely not go through with it. Thank you for taking your time to read and rate.

I agree with the above Forretress>Espeon set because a mistake many people make is having magic bounce and no rapid spin which normally only means that there will be hazards on both sides of the field not just yours however if they have a reliable spinner then its just not worth it. I also suggest running a Mixed Hydreigon over your Flygon because if you are removing the Scarf then it loses its speed advantage so Hydreigon appears to be a superior option. It has a stronger Outrage, Draco Meteor and Fire Blast, better bulk but different typing.

Hydreigon (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 104 Atk / 240 SAtk / 164 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Draco Meteor
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Fire Blast

this set gives you decent speed and a great wallbreaker. I may edit this post later for more rates but its quite late right now.

I will probaby make the Espeon swap. This team is based on a Choice Scarf Flygon so I am not willing to change its item or the pokemon itself. I am gling to look at other Rapid Spinners. Maybe Donphan because it has Ice Shard. Thanks for the suggestions!
