Flying mono (gym team)

Aerodactyl (M) @ Aerodactylite
Ability: Pressure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Serious Nature
IVs: 30 Def
- Stealth Rock
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- Roost

Aerodactyl is pretty good at dishing out some pain. Depending on what has been sent out I will choose between attacking or stealth rocks. I try to use aerodactyl as my second or third pokemon to send out so i can clear out the opponents stealth rocks with zapdos then set my own. Rock slide is for the stab and the flinches that help out a lot and eq is for electric pokemon that bother my team. Roost is just to help him live longer.

Thundurus (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Focus Blast

Thundurus is normally my lead of choice. Its just wonderful with the prankster T-wave. and if that is useless i can get charge beam in boost my special attack and start dishing out some damage with hp ice focus blast and more charge beams. thundurus normally doesnt live long because of his lack of bulk and the life orb.

Honchkrow @ Leftovers
Ability: Moxie
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Sucker Punch
- Roost
- Superpower

Honchkrow is kind of new to me. I was screwing around one day with different pokemon to fill in this spot... next thing i know i completely sweep some guys team with honchkrow. brave bird is for a powerful stab tht hurts a ton. sucker punch is so i can outspeed and hit hard with stab. confuse ray is mostly for people i know will use swords dance or dragon dance so its pretty much them using swagger on themselves. And facade is just a filler move... honchkrow with moxie can really put a hole in ur team if u underestimate him.

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 244 SDef / 16 Spd
Calm Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def
- Thunderbolt
- Roost
- Heat Wave
- Defog

Zapdos is pretty much my full on special defense wall. 16 speed to outspeed some threats to my team but other then that its pretty much a normal zapdos set. thunderbolt as stab, heat wave 4 excadrills and other pokemon like that. roost is so he lives a while and defog to clear rocks.

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Moxie
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Bounce
- Waterfall
- Substitute

Gyarados will be my late game sweeper always. Ddance for obvious reasons, bounce for a stab flying move that can at the same time help with some leftovers recovery. waterfall as stab and the occasionaly lucky flinch. substitute is to block will o wisp toxic confuse t-wave and any other status moves. I run moxie over intimidate because of the fact hes a late game sweeper once he has +1 speed and outspeeds most of wats left of my opponents team the damage boost just makes him harder and harder to stop.

Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 244 HP / 252 Def / 12 Spd
Impish Nature
- Substitute
- Toxic
- Protect
- Earthquake

Gliscor a staple on any flying team in my opionion. hes just the normal toxic stall set but can 2hko aegislash and charizard x. substitute and protect is for the toxic stall and more healing for gliscor. toxic is to start the toxic stall...(spoiler alert that was to get to three lines cause i dont know what more to say about him)

any tips r greatly appreciated in getting this team up to par. this is my gym team so it is for ou battles

Aero seems okay just give him a Jolly/Adamant nature

I don't really do way too much OU but I don't think charge beam thundurus is a good set

On honch, use life orb with brave bird, sucker punch, roost, and superpower. The attacks are self explanatory for optimal damage output and coverage and roost is to recover from BB and LO recoil

Zapdos seems okay. Just curious why a modest nature.

Gyarados and gliscor seem okay but I play mostly lower tiers.

Hope I helped!!

I'm just coming in to say you already made the exact same RMT on the XY OU RMT Forum. I recommend you remove one of them, because although I'm not sure, both of these RMT's may be locked.

Anywho, first up we have Aerodactyl, whom I don't really agree with. You're running a more support variant of it, so you should replace the item with a Focus Sash, change the IVs to max, give him Jolly Nature, and replace Roost with Tailwind. Grab the 4 HP EVs and put them into SDef/Def so when you switch in, you only take 24.9%, aka you can switch in 5 times instead of 4. Thundurus is fine, except for the Charge Beam part, change that to Thunderbolt and everything should be okay. Use the set that Ununhexlum provided above, although personally I would use Sub over Roost, you can decide that though. Zapdos, again, put the IVs to the top, and change the nature to Calm, as Modest doesn't score any major 2HKO/OHKO I believe. Everyone else is great.

Good luck!

thanks it seems i screwed up with aerodactyl (prob why i havent been liking him 2 much) charge beam was a little expirement when I made this rmt. i have it posted on both because i wasnt getting any responses on the other one and i dont know how to delete an rmt. ive changed charge beam to thunderbolt and aerodactyls roost to tail wind. im keeping the mega though because he packs a bigger punch if i decide not to stealth rock or tailwind. ill change the rmt when ive decided if i like tailwind.
