Follow Me! [RMT] (Doubles)

Follow ME! - TheRedCom's VGC Double Battle Team
Introduction: As the VGC's come closer and closer to PA, I have tried to devise a solid team that works around taking hits and giving them out in full. Its hard to see many 'Follow Me' tactics in the Double Battle Metagame, with so many Weather Teams/Trick Room Teams, but they are a force to be reckon with.

The Starters

Breloom@Toxic Orb
252 Atk/252 Speed/6 HP
Jolly [+ Atk/- Sp.Atk]

Move List
Substitute
Spore
Focus Punch
Seed Bomb

Analysis/In - Depth Strategy:
Breloom is as standard as it should be.

Set up a Substitute: This is a great way to start the battle, hopefully it will be faster then any Pokemon that want to Explode and Double KO Togekiss and Breloom.
Once the Sub is set up, assuming Togekiss does Follow me, I can proceed to do one of the other:

Spore: Spore one of the Pokemon, and thus having more of a chance to set up a Focus Punch, or rely on Seed Bomb. Either way, They are powerful STAB'd moves. But it can serious cripple Pokemon with Spore, that are much faster then him. It can also give time for Togekiss to Roost, if it looks like it can't take anymore hits.

Focus Punch/Seed Bomb: Not much to say here, but if it looks dangerous to let out a Spore, then attacking is just as effective.

Togekiss@Leftovers
252 Def/252 SP. Def/6 Speed
Bold [+ Def/ - Atk]

Move List
Follow Me
Protect/Roost
Air Slash
Aura Sphere

Analysis/In - Depth Strategy:
Togekiss likes taking hits. And it will proceed to take them.

Start Following: Its whole purpose is to use Follow Me. Make sure that the Pokemon hit him, while Breloom sets up a Substitute. Its a pretty sturdy Pokemon, the sturdiest Pokemon that can use the move, Follow Me.

If Things Look Bad: He will Protect, or Roost, depending on which move I think would work best, given the situation. In 2 v 2, however, its safe to use Protect. I would hate to lose Togekiss over a preventable Explosion from my opponent.

Sidelines

Alakazam@Choice Specs
252 Sp. Atk/252 Speed/6 Def
Modest [+ Sp. Atk/- Atk]

Move List
Trick
Psychic
Focus Blast/Shadow Ball
Energy Ball

Analysis/In - Depth Strategy:
The Gimmicky Trickster

Got'cha!: He uses Trick automatically. Well, actually he only uses Trick whenever he finds it right. If Trick isn't the best thing to use, then he will proceed to use either Focus Blast or Psychic. Not that many Pokemon can take a Choice Specs STAB'd Psychic, however.

Clefable@Flame Orb
252 Def/127 HP/125 Sp. Def
Calm [+ Sp. Def/ - Atk]

Move List
Follow Me
Facade
Softboiled/Moonlight
Protect

Analysis/In - Depth Strategy:
Following the Pixie Fairy.

Follow Me! Again!: Clefable is my other Follow Me Pokemon. Its sturdy (but not as sturdy) and with Magic Guard, I won't have to worry about the reprecussions of less Attack. Thus, attacking with a STAB'd Facade will suffice. It won't leave a dent, but it'll do enough damage.

Thank You.

I'd run both Protect and Roost on Togekiss if you're thinking about making him a tank. Air Slash is both STAB and gives the flinchax and Focus Punch covers a fighting type attack.

Roost doesn't protect you from Explosion and Protect doesn't do anything to residual damage, which admittedly there isn't much of, but you still need Togekiss to last as long as possible, as Clefable without a focus sash will go down to most strong physical attacks (Metagross Meteor Mash for example.)

I rarely see Metagross in Doubles, but its something to look out for. Thanks.
Though if I were to give it Focus Sash, it means that its only use is just to live for one turn.
Clefable is pretty defensive. Not as sturdy as Togekiss, but it shouldn't go down that easily to a Metagross. Least not one without Max Attack EV's/ + Atk Nature.

Why does Alakazam know Protect? Since you don't use any moves that can also hurt your partner, it seems rather useless here, unless you feel that you will be able to easily predict Explosions and Self-Destructs. I think Energy Ball would be a good move to consider in this spot.

I thought I would be able to predict an Explosion, but if I'm Specs'd, it would just be a waste of a slot. I was honestly hoping to pass along the Specs to someone who won't need it and kill them from there. But thats a good suggestion, thank you.
