dpmfa392.png

Infernape @ Life Orb / Expert Belt
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
* Flare Drive
* In Fight
* Thunderpunch
* Swords Dance

dpmfa051.png

Dugtrio @ Choice Band
Trait: Arena Trap
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
* Earthquake
* Aerial Ace
* Blade Test
* Rock Slide / Stone Edge

A standard Dugtrio.

dpmfa466.png

Electivire @ Expert Belt
Trait: Electric Engine
EVs: 156 Atk / 136 SAtk / 218 Spd
Lonely Nature (+Atk, -Def)
* Thunderbolt
* Ice Punch
* Brick Break
* Earthquake

Thunderbolt is a guaranteed 2HKO against Suicune w/ max SDef and a neutral nature due to the 136 SAtk EVs. Everything else is for pretty obvious reasons.

dpmfa430.png

Honchkrow @ Leftovers
Trait: Strong Luck
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
* Blade Test
* Drill Peck
* Pursuit
* Thunder Wave

Adamant + Max Atk = Guaranteed 2HKO vs Uxie / Mesprit / Azelf / Cresselia. Drill Peck is a guaranteed 2HKO against Ludicolo with Bold / 252 Def (which is extremely unlikely, meaning it will likely OHKO), and OHKOs Medicham.

dpmfa121.png

Starmie @ Adherance Glasses
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
* Grass Rope
* Ice Beam
* Thunderbolt
* Surf

OHKOs Dugtrio / Aero / Donphan with Surf, and OHKOs Swampert with Grass Rope.

dpmfa227.png

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Trait: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP / 136 Atk / 120 Def
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
* Drill Peck
* Stealth Rock
* Roar
* Feather Rest

OK, I'm praying to god that this team I just made is decent and I don't have to make a new one again. -X-

lol sorry, you're 6-0ed by a Jolly DD Tyranitar, and also by a DD Gyarados if you let it get two DDes which will happen if you switch anything but Starmie into it. =( Your team is just way too brittle in general, nothing can take a hit but who isn't the wall it was in Advance. You're going to have to replace at least two pokemon, and it's up to you to decide which you like more.

Team-building isn't easy, but to be perfectly honest, I'm not sure yo uhave many of the concepts down inthe first place. Please read Surgo's "treatise" thread, as among many things, this team doesn't seem to have a centralized goal at all.

Honchkrow won't stop Azelf, but Dugtrio will at least keep it from sweeping.

Skarmory can have Drill Peck/Whirlwind (from Fearow), so use WW.

Team seems workable.

Snorlax (Infernape)
Slaking (Infernape)
Porygon-Z (Infernape)
Starmie (Electivire)
Metagross (Infernape)
Salamence (Electivire, Starmie)
Garchomp (Electivire, Starmie)
Dragonite (Electivire, Starmie)

See, things like this don't work, since Infernape/Electivire/Starmie cannot switch into those Pokemon. Overall, your team is way too weak defensively, and cannot switch around much at all.

Honchkrow is crap IMHO, too slow and too weak defensively, so the high attack doesn't matter.

Infernape > Tar. Starmie, like you said, completely pwns Gyarados.

I did read Surgos thread, but to be perfectly honest with you, when I try making teams with a centralized strategy, they end up... not having one. I guess I have no idea how to really do it. >_>

Edit: Jeez, I guess I don't get a single thing about team building. -_- Sigh, why do I even bother making my own teams? Seriously. ._.

Infernape < Tar if Tar is already in. Infernape *cannot* switch in because it will die to almost all of Tyranitar's moves, so it's only coming in if something is already dead, and Dugtrio does that better anyway.

Starmie's going to die to Gyarados' Earthquake as well, without any form of healing whatsoever.

Team-building isn't easy, but to be perfectly honest, ....this team doesn't seem to have a centralized goal at all.

Pretty much. It's just seems a bunch of counters thrown together that can't really switch in unless something else dies, as tenchi pointed out.

I'm not much of a team builder myself--I've been mulling it over for like the past four months--and yet I can easily tell that Skarmory doesn't belong there at all, especially without Beautiful Skin--you have Feather Rest for a reason. Otherwise, once Magnezone possibly switches in, "BZZT" is the sound of your only really defensive Pokemon, outside of possibly Electivire, getting KOed. With Beautiful Skin, you could at least switch Electivire into Magnezone and shrug off pretty much anything but Explosion or an odd HP Ground.

But, yeah, Skarmory's not doing anything for you since you're team isn't based around Stealth Rock and Skarmory, which gets owned by Magnezone, is the only thing capable of phazing since you can't force switches with your frail "counters".

Get rid of it and whore Cresslia for a while since you're already whoring Goku--I'm still going to call it that...--and CB Dugtrio (who is also probably a wasted slot); you might as well see what Moon Suicune can do for you.

Honchkrow is nice, but you have to remember that it has crap defenses. You might want to give Thunder Wave to something else, especially since you intend to attempt to Pursuit switchers (for the Critical Hit). You'll probably have to get rid of it too, but it could be nice to at least someone use one of the haxxers that isn't Togekiss as a central part of the team. (Oh, and since Honchkrow's speed isn't that great either, you might want to go with Ambush over something.)

Back to the drawing board....

Jolly Tyranitar gets to 363 speed after a DD, which outspeeds everything on your team, including Starmie (361), Infernape (347) and Dugtrio (339). With the DD, Taunt/Crunch/Stone Edge sweeps you. Your Starmie isn't a Gyarados counter because it doesn't have Recover.

If you really don't have an idea of how to have a centralized strategy, then to be perfectly honest, you would probably be better off not trying to post teams, don't you think? I'm not trying to be malicious at all, but I think that makes perfect sense...

If you don't have a centralized idea, then, somewhat by definition, it is not a "team" in the first place.

You have many offensive pokemon that can KO a wide variety of pokemon. But after you kill something, and a counter is brought out for your current pokemon, you are screwed. Sure you might have another offensive pokemon that could kill the new pokemon, but how are you supposed to switch it in without it dying? More often than not, this would be your problem.

You need a mix of offensive and defensive pokemon. This way, you can switch a defensive pokemon in to take the hit that you think is coming. Then, by hoping to force out that offensive pokemon, you can either use some type of support or status move, or attempt to predict the switch and bring in an offensive pokemon.

I look at your team, and I see Infernape, Dugtrio, Electivire, Starmie, and Honchkrow, all having either poor defensive stats, brutal defensive typings, or mixtures of both. I do see a lot of speed, which will get you somewhere if the opponent happens to have nothing like Aerodactyl or Alakazam (and pray to god they have no Trick Room), and if the opponent's team has a glaring weakness to your Infernape (which might happen, but Infernape certainly won't be catching anybody off-guard considering how common it is expected to be).

So you have only Skarmory to reliably take hits. Okay well that's just one pokemon, and besides the fact that he can't hold up well to Choice Band Heracross and Tyranitar, he just helps with physical hits, not special.

not anothr person using fucking AG starmie with no wish support,then claiming its gyarados coverage.You can switch it in once then your dead because after one dd, gyra will just finish you off then will rapes the rest of this team.
Serioulsy why are people taking one of the few gyrados counters left and then limiting it with AG.

These are the types of teams Trick Room teams love to see the most of. BTW giant TR Rhyperior weak (2HKOs Skarm, 1HKOs everything else). Put in a couple of tankier pokes, especially a special wall, but a better idea might be to start over. Good try though, you obviously put a lot of work into thinking about the counters.
