Welcome to the Entertainment Reviews forum!
This was once a forum just for Album Reviews, but now we have decided to expand and allow for movie and video game reviews to be posted here, allowing for more diversity as you showcase your writing skills!
Format
Please try to follow this format for writing your reviews:
- Name the thread like this: "Artist - Album name", if it is an album review. If it's a video game review, start it with "Name - Video game system", and if it's a movie review, just the movie name will be fine.
- Start your thread with the appropriate title, a picture of the album cover, movie poster or video game boxart, then the genre (eg. Rock if it's a rock album, or PG)
- Follow up with the body of the review. Some people, when writing album reviews, give us some background information on the album, and then follow up with a song by song score. When writing a movie or video game review, you could begin with a general description of the plot, go into your personal feelings, and then break it down into different categories, such as visual effects, sound, and screenplay.
- Please bold all song titles and scores, just to make thing easier to read.
That's pretty much it. Have a look at some of the other reviews if you need a visual example.
Other things
- Absolutely NO SPOILERS to be added to video game and movie reviews.
- Reviewing albums, movies or games that have already been done is allowed, but only if it's a vastly different opinion and approach to the other review. Otherwise, just post your opinions in the already existing thread.
- Push people to try and seek out the album, movie or game you are reviewing (unless it's a negative review, if so, see the point below). The best reviews are ones the writers are passionate about, and this shines through in their reviews.
- Reviews that are negative towards something are very entertaining to read, but they should be as well written as the positive ones. If I see things like "Green Day suck because they are emo", you're too stupid to post in this forum.
- This should go without saying, but you are not allowed to rip off analyses from other people or sites and post them here.
