Ok so i understand that this is toeing the line between simulator suggestions and format suggestions, but hear me out:
Free Battle (A Singles version of multi battle) is a game mode originating in Pokemon Stadium where you bring 2 teams and get to pick 3 mons from each, with each team individually following species clause but not together.
Due to the upcoming feature where you can force a format to be doubles, triples, ffa, rotation (when implemented), etc. I dont see why this can't be coded and included under this command to be a supported battle system. There should also be the option to play it as a 1v1 or as a 2v2 player wise.
How the format is currently played is we take 1 paste, load it up with 12 mons, label them "P1" and "P2", and make sure we only bring 3 from each team, but there are clear issues with this system.
1. Its not foolproof. Its easy to lose track of what mon youve selected even with it visible. We've messed this up multiple times.
2. It freaks out the client, saying a mon you brought twice (i.e. two tauros in RBY) are the same mon, just one is an illusion. No. These are 2 different pokemon.
3. The builder quite literally doesn't support it. Now i get this wouldnt be fixed even with the proposed implementation, but its an issue nonetheless.
4. Species clause has to be removed so we have to police this which can be difficult with newer players. Lol.
