Freedom Fliers

Hello everyone! WTB here, and today I am making an RMT for my recent team that I made. I don't really make competitive teams, but I decided to try it. Usually I just use one of my friend's teams. The team's mega is Pinsir. Anyway, let's get this show on the road!

Kingdra @ Scope Lens
Ability: Sniper
EVs: 212 HP / 252 SAtk / 44 Spd
Timid Nature
- Focus Energy
- Ice Beam
- Draco Meteor
- Surf

This guy is now one of my favorite sweepers. It has decent stats, a generic moveset, but its ability is what makes it great. Sniper gives it 3x damage on critical hits. Along with Scope Lens and Focus Energy, this sea creature becomes a monster in just one turn. And with critical hits now not counting your Pokemon's stat decreases, Draco Meteor is more powerful than ever. Of course, this guy hates being paralyzed, as well as anything that lowers its speed. Still, he can function as a great sweeper very early, or late game.

Pinsir @ Pinsirite
Ability: Hyper Cutter ---> Aerilate
EVs: 180 SDef / 252 HP / 76 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Quick Attack
- Return
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake

The mega of the team. Once you get two Swords Dances up, this monster of a bug will tear through teams. Its ability Aerilate will make Return extremely powerful, and makes Quick Attack a very useful and powerful priority move. Earthquake is there for coverage, as well as for anything that Return can't deal with. Of course, Pinsir is 4x weak to Stealth Rock, making Togekiss a very important part of the team.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 136 HP / 128 SDef / 244 Def
Modest Nature
- Toxic
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Substitute

Ah, Heatran. Such a great addition to any team. With wonderful steel typing, great base stats, and so many sets to chose from, it's no wonder he's part of this team. Heatran is running a defensive set, which uses Toxic to wear down difficult opponents and cripple walls. Substitute is there so he can have a free toxic distribution, and in case he is predicting a switch-in. Fire Blast is the main move you will be using, as it packs a serious punch. Heatran is an all around great counter for Mega Zard Y, especially in this event: Mega Zard Y is about to use a fire type attack to KO your Trevenant. You switch into Heatran, and he obtains Flash Fire. Now, you have Flash Fire, and sun, as well as a complete wall to Mega Zard Y. Two Fire Blasts in the sun with Flash Fire can 2HKO Mega Zard Y. It can 2HKO just about anything that doesn't take 1/4 to fire. Finally, Earth Power is here for coverage. Ground type attacks are super effective against many types, so it's no wonder why it isn't here.

Trevenant @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Harvest
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SDef
Impish Nature
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Horn Leech
- Curse

Good 'ol Trevy. The Leach Seeding, Substituting, Harvest abusing creepy tree. This set is pretty generic: get behind a Substitute, plant a Some Leach seed, Curse any threats, spam Horn leach, and keep on doing it over and over again. That is literally it. Other then a burn, this spooky oak can take on just about anything that isn't... priority brave bird.

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 180 Def / 120 HP / 208 Atk
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Protect
- Ice Fang

The second freedom flier. A great physical wall, and functions as a nice Toxic staller. Earthquake is its main attack move, as it deals great damage and has STAB. Ice Fang is for those 4x weaknesses, as well as for those who resist or are immune to earthquake. Speaking of 4x weaknesses, when you are expecting an Ice attack coming your way, switch out to Heatran. When Heatran is going to be hit by a
Ground type attack, switch to Gliscor. They are both partners in crime, see? And the ability Poison Heal helps Gliscor heal up as he heals down. See what I did there? Anyway, overall he is a very important part of this team, and helps it a lot.

Togekiss @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 120 SDef / 180 SAtk / 208 HP
Modest Nature
- Defog
- Air Slash
- Aura Sphere
- Nasty Plot

Possibly one of the most important members of the team, Togekiss has a number of uses. Air Slash is the move of choice, doing nice damage, STAB, and a 60% flinch rate. More than half of the time, the opponent will flinch. Aura Sphere is for coverage, as it does super effective damage to many types. Defog is for removing the hazards that Pinsir hates. Finally, Nasty Plot is for those times that Air Slash and Aura Sphere just can't do enough damage. Nasty Plot can also transform the defensive Togekiss into a deadly sweeper.

I HOPE YOU ALL LIKE THIS TEAM! IF YOU THINK IT NEEDS ANY CHANGES, LET ME NOW! ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED!

Here it is:

Trevenant makes quite a fine wall, but personally I'm more of a fan of Goodra for all of your tanking needs. With its insane Special Defense Fairy isn't an issue, and I've won many a fight riding on the back of this set:
Goodra @ Leftovers
Ability-Gooey
EVs: 252 SDef 252 HP 4 SpAtk
Calm Nature
-Toxic
-Flamethrower
-Protect
-Dragon Pulse
It's not that Trevenant is bad, I have just found Goodra to be the best wall due to its tanking. Its SpAtk is surprisingly high with just 4 EVs, too.

I'll talk about Pinsir a little bit. I'd recommend a few changes to him:

Pinsir @ Pinsirite
Ability: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly
Nature
- Quick Attack
- Return
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake

First off, while Moxie is a great ability, it doesn't see much use on Pinsir since he'll really be do most of his killing in mega form. Hyper Cutter is more relevant, as it will ignore Intimidate if something like Lando-T comes in on the turn it mega evolves. I'd go max attack/speed with a Jolly Nature, to fully utilize his base 105 speed. Otherwise, he's outsped by the genies, Garchomp, Mence, etc... And finally, I'd recommend EQ over X-Scissor, because it provides much better coverage against Steels, notably Heatran and Mawile. You're still walled by Skarm, so just make sure it's out of the way before you try setting up.

Thank you Mr. Munchlax. I will be testing the two out to see which one seems to have more uses. I will be changing X-Scissor to EQ, as well as change the ability to Hpyer Cutter (sparktrain). I will not change the EV spread, however.
