"Welcome to my family's ranch. Want to take a tour? You see, this place has been passed down through the generations since...--"

Elizabeth's home is a massive farm-like area and resort combined into one. The ranch house is wide, one floor but with endless rooms. Some of them storerooms, some of them bedrooms, and some repurposed to be training areas for Pokemon. Out in the backyard, there's a swimming pool, a dirt track running the perimeter of the yard, and a range for archery, gun-shooting, or Pokemon training. Past a fence, there are grazing fields, wheat crops, blueberry bushes, and gardens arranged in a square-ish grid. Elizabeth takes you past all of these, explaining each of them in excruciating detail. It's soooooo interesting hearing Elizabeth ramble about how corn has been bred to be the way it is. You entertain her on the way through the ranch-turned-farm, until you make it to a grassy field that's been left to nature's hands a bit too long.

Near a pond, an arena was built for battles. The circle of dirt is crude, surrounded by wooden logs that can be easily stepped over. The arena is plenty wide for battles, being 50 meters in diameter. The arena also has an unusual aura derived from the presence of several Grass- and Psychic-types.

  • The grass is thick around the arena. Grassy Terrain's effects are always active, unless somehow removed...
  • Pokemon have an easier time using Psychic attacks, spending 1 less energy to use each psychic attack. This doesn't let them perform above their usual ability, however.
  • A shed is positioned on the east side of the arena. The door is open to the arena, and some tools were left out, spilt a few feet outside of the door. They are: Rake, Pitchfork, agricultural Scythe, Hoe, Shovel, Sledgehammer, Watering can, Leaf Blower, Push-operated Lawn mower, and an electric String Trimmer (weed eater). Nothing else of note is inside the shed.
  • Several planks of wood are set against the shed. They are 4, 8, and 12 feet in length, all 2x4 in width and depth.
  • There is no rock source.
  • A small pond is nearby, allowing water moves to be used. However, it is not deep enough to use Dive, and if the move Surf is used, this water source is completely exhausted and cannot be used again, unless filled through other means...
  • This arena is designed to be used with RP actions. It is encouraged that you use actions such as "Use Heat Wave to light the Grassy Terrain on fire." and "Use Hydro Cannon to flood the hole that Excadrill used to Dig." Ref discretion will apply to these moves, so check with them beforehand. Refs can also alter the effects of moves if needed, such as making Heat Wave do less damage in the previous example. Note that Psychic types still aren't godly and can't redirect attacks whenever they feel like it.

"Ahhh... This is by far the freshest air I've ever breathed. Elizabeth really knows how to live. I should come to her ranch more often."

skarmory.gif

"Sir! I hope you have not forgotten why we are here. It is not to make slobs of ourselves!"

vanillish.gif

"I'm not allowed to bring outside snacks? I guess I'd better drop the Pringles. Do I count as an outside snack?

skarmory.gif

"We are here to referee! Elizabeth isn't paying you to eat!"

vanillish.gif

"I'm getting paid to be here? I can get used to this. Hey Stygian, help me stand up. I've started to melt."

skarmory.gif

"I'll get you a towel and a telescope. But first, let's introduce the battlers!"

Tulowitzki is an arrogant showoff like nobody else. He's just as happy to win an important match as he is to look good losing one, and could care less about the outcome as long as people understand he was the MVP. Sure, he appreciates his teammates, but only if they admit that he was the star of the show. Which, of course, he is.

Boron's weight and size makes it difficult for him to not crash into everything in his wake. Elizabeth has taken careful note of this, and lets Boron go on his own for the majority of the time. Boron resides in a cave system not far from Elizabeth's ranch, and is often visited by Elizabeth's other Pokemon.

Zenith isn't well liked on Elizabeth's ranch due to her arrogance. She often believes herself to be better trained than her peers, even when it's pointed out that she doesn't train nearly as much as everyone else. Elizabeth can only get Zenith to train by threatening to not feed her.

IF Latias uses an unsuspended Damaging Evasive move outside of a combo, use Sucker Punch that action instead and push back.
IF Latias is a Dark / Flying-type when you would act, use Sky Attack the first instance, Brave Bird the second, and Sky Attack the third.
IF Reflect is active on Exclaimer's side of the field when you would act, use Dark Pulse the first instance, Icy Wind the second, and Dark Pulse the third.

"Take this umbrella."

vanillish.gif

"Thanks. Noticing that Corvus is charging up a Payback, Elizabeth comes up with a new strategy. She orders Ellysus to charge up a combination. The combo takes so long to charge that Payback hits first, halving the attack's power."

But Corvus doesn't stay down for long. And as soon as he gets up, he rushes straight into Ellysus! The Latias raises her arm in an attempt to block the attack, but with his Super Luck ability, Corvus penetrates her arm with a Night Slash."
