FroggyStyle(Rain Team) Peaked No. 882

I'm at the stage in my game where I'm not sure whether the reason I'm losing is because I'm being outplayed, or if it's because my team is bad.

- Perish Song

This guy is a must on rain teams. I use the scarf set because IMHO this set is the best and the only one which I find can sweep. Perish song is there to force switches, and I know it's a bit gimmicky on a scarf set, but I don't really need the last attacking slot and it has won me a few battles, so I keep it there just in case.

Toxicroak (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Dry Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Ice Punch
- Sucker Punch
- Cross Chop

This guy was such a dangerous threat to my team, that I decided, if you can't beat them, join them. I use the swords dance set so that I have access to Ice Punch, allowing me to OHKO dragonite, and Gliscor(so long as it doesn't have speed EVs, usually I don't risk it). After one swords dance Cross Chop does 80% to skarmory, and this guy is just incredibly powerful all round. He OHKOs Celebi and Lati@s after swords dance, the former being a deadly threat to the team. Setting up a swords dance is also remarkably easy, making this guy one of the best sweepers I have. However, his slow speed can be a problem, and therefore even after a swords dance he can easily be taken care of.

Bulldozer (Terrakion) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- X-Scissor
- Sacred Sword

Terrakion is stupidly powerful, and even though he has zero synergy with rain, he makes a perfect revenge killer with scarf. He is able to OHKO Blissey/Tyranitar/Abomasnow/Ninetales and 2HKO Ferrothorn, and is able to outspeed and OHKO +1 Gyarados and Dnite(so long as multiscale is broken). His insane 519 speed allows me to outspeed pretty much anything, and his amazing attack stat means that nothing much can stand up to him. Gliscor and Landorus however completely wall him, and if I have no more pokes left facing them, I'm as good as dead.

Fear-o-thorn (Ferrothorn) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave
- Power Whip
- Leech Seed
Ferro is pretty much invincible under rain, and is a perfect check for dragon types. CB Haxorus, who usually rips right through my team, fails to even 3HKO him, and I can easily get a Thunder Wave off on him. I like this set over the gyro ball set because Thunder Wave allows me to pretty much cripple the entire opposing team, and power whip is still very effective against most threats anyway. This set allows me to cover Quagsire/Gastrodon, who I used to have huge problems with, and allows me to OHKO Rotom-W, which is very useful. As well as this, he allows me to easily take on Shell Smashers, as I simply use Thunderwave to cripple them or whoever they choose to baton pass to.

ScRotom-W (Rotom-W) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 112 HP / 252 SAtk / 144 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunder
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

Rotom-W is a much needed check for Landorus and Gliscor, allowing me to both attack water types Super Effectively with thunder, and allowing me to predict the switch to Gliscor/Landorus and OHKO with Hydro Pump. He also allows me to wall CB Scizor, who I OHKO with hydro pump. However, the bulky SD scizor set still poses problems to me, as I cannot OHKO him and he can hit me incredibly hard with bug bite. So long as he didn't get a SD up though, I'm generally fine. Will-O-Wisp totally cripples physical attackers, and Pain Split allows me to regain health. I tried Jolteon in this spot, but I prefer this poke much more, due to his amazing Dual STAB.

Whorenadus (Tornadus) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Hurricane
- Hammer Arm
- Rain Dance
- Grass Knot

I tried Specs on this guy, but I prefer Life Orb much better, allowing for an auxiliary rain dance, and also allowing me to still hit hard with hurricane. Hurricane is usually my move of choice, but Hammer arm allows me to OHKO or 2HKO Blissey, Nattorei, Tyranitar and Abomasnow depending on EVs, and Grass Knot allows me to OHKO quagsire and gastrodon, and 2HKO Hippowdon. This guy also acts as a celebi and toxicroak counter, which are both very threatening to my team.

Celebi - This guy can devastate my team if played correctly, however a Hurricane or +2 Sucker punch can easily take care of him.
SD Scizor - With Bullet Punch taking out Terrakion in one shot, and with enough bulk to live one Hydro Pump, this guy is very dangerous if allowed to Sword Dance and Bug Bite
Gastrodon/Quagsire - Their amazing typing and ability allows them to totally wall Rotom, and Toed if he is locked into hydropump, making them threats to be feared. They are however 1hko'd by Ferrothorn or Tornadus, and 2hko'd by toed.
Landorus - Though he is weak to water, his insanely powerful earthquake and stone edge allows him to take out terrakion, who cannot OHKO with stone edge, toxicroak, who is outspeeded, and tornadus, who is also outspeeded. The rock polish variant is even more lethal, allowing him to not only outspeed, but also prevents him from being forced to switch when locked into EQ. However, Ferrothorn is able to take his hits very well and 2hko, and Rotom and Toed can OHKO, provided that Toed is not killed in one turn by EQ.

Edit: Changed Rotom F to Rotom W

Nothing really wrong but small nitpicks. For a revenge killer scizor o reven dug trio outclasses Terrakion in rain.
Grass knot isn't great for this team use U-turn. You have water grounds covered very well already.

I don't think that is a Rotom-W picture, look like Rotom-F (Fridge electric/ice) but I could be mistaken.

With toxicroak, cross chop over drain punch isn't great. You aren't utilizing toxicroaks bulk, survivability and dry skin when you don't have drain punch. Substitute toxicroak heals 19.25% per turn + Drain Punch is something to think about.

Pretty sure ice punch plus drain punch is illegal. Yeah it is a rotom-f pic

One Pokemon that seems to help cover some of your threats is Scarf Jirachi. While it might sting to replace Scarf Terrakion(I know it does, he's awesome) Jirachi isn't revenged by Scizor and kill revenge kills both Gyarados and Dnite. You can also threaten Celebi with Scarf U-turn and to generally gain momentum through out the match. There's also not a whole lot Gastrodon can do to you. The set in question is this:

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- U-Turn
- Ice Punch
- Thunder Punch
- Iron Head

Hope you'll give it a go. I've used it before to cover the exact same threats you are having trouble with :)

Thanks, I will definetely give this one a go! Jirachi has always been one of my favourite pokes and this seems like a very fun set to use, I was thinking of replacing toxicroak with Scizor, but this set does look very good. Terrakion has been somewhat of a weak link anyway, and Jirachi actually gets synergy from rain. Only problem is it removes a fighting type move from my team, but Toxicroak should cover that anyway.

Also @ Regirock, I did have U-Turn on tornadus before, but I didn't think much of it, I will try it again though. The problem is, that Toed and HP grass fails to 2HKO gastrodon, which is a big problem.
