From Flygon with Love (HelpMyTeam)

This team started from the ideas generated in the Flygon Discussion thread. I wanted to use a Screech Flygon to force switches. Thanks for a recommendation from Sciz to use Lucario. He can act like another Flygon with Metal Sound it can cause switches and do nice damage. Maybe have Calm Mind or something as the last move. Flygon and Lucario cover their own weaknesses well. Flygon is weak to Ice and Dragon, two types Lucario is resistant to. Lucario is weak to Fire, Fighting, and ground while Flygon is normal to Fighting, resistant to Fire, and immune to Ground.

To take advantage of this I'd like to have SR and Spikes down as much as possible. First pokemon that popped to mind was Skarmory which can have both and nice defences to boot. I'm having trouble coming up with a moveset since there are so many options I want to give this guy.

So far this idea sounds fun to me but I'd have some problems from some popular pokemon like:

Gyarados
Infernape
Heracross
Garchomp
Starmie

A water of my own is capable of killing most or all of that list. Maybe Starmie, Slowbro, or Swampert. Swampert also has the nice addition of SR if they aren't down.

Would it be good to give Skarmory both Spikes and SR or split them up over two pokemon.

Sciz also mentioned that most of my team was strong against SS so a Tyranitar would be good at sweeping up the mess left after the Spike and SR damage.

I'll edit this post shortly with some pokemon and their movesets.

Edit:

From the looks of it, you're developing a massive weakness to Pokemon that combine Ice and Grass/Electric moves. Something like Starmie could potentially devestate the team.

Starmie could potentially devestate a lot of teams though, that's why I think of him as a very big threat. Swampert can stop him unless it's running Grass Rope, then maybe Lucario would be better.

I suppose I could just suck and toss in Blissey.

Anymore comments?

Yeah, you could just suck and lose to Starmie and Azelf nine times out of 10 instead if you want =)

In general, a "Spikes shuffling" mindset or strategy does indeed address one of the main points of Surgo's treatise (having a strategy instead of just slapping six standards together and calling it a team), but you'll find that going all-out on that front will open you up to threats like the aforementioned Azelf and Starmie, which is almost reason enough to "cave" in the interests of your team. You *could* stick a Jolly Pursuit Weavile to revenge kill those pokemon, a feat that will actually be easier to accomplish given your team and the fact that they both would have taken some Spikes/Stealth Rock Damage, but this would require either prediction wth regard to Azelf, or a sacrifice with regard to Starmie.
