Trick Room functions really well in a metagame where speed is everything. so lets get this started
Lead
Espeon - Magic Bounce - Focus Sash
- Trick Room
- Psychic
- Hidden Power (Fire)
- Grass Not
Ev 252 Hp 252 Spec Att 4 Spec Def
IV 30 Att 30 Spec Att 2 Speed
Quite Nature
What i believe to be the best Trick Room lead in the entire game, while it may seem strange to run a pokemon with 110 speed in trick room at min speed espeon hit 202 which is enough to deal with most offensive pokemon under Trick Room. Magic Bounce is the true reason this set works, this makes it that Espeon cannot be Taunted, put to sleep or have hazards set up. many trick room leads have a problem with taunt as trick room always goes last but this almost ensures trick room is set up. Hidden Power fire is for ferrothorn and fortress as they cannot set up the hazards espeon acts as a good switch in to them in the midgame. Tyranitar is the biggest problem for Espeon as grass not wont do enough damage and crunch + sand storm will ko it. That is where this pokemon comes in
Scrafty - Moxi - Leftovers
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
Ev 116 Hp 215 Att 252 Spec Def
Sassy Nature
Bulk up scrafty is extremly difficult to ko with the investment in special defense. dark fighting is a great type combination to counter tyranitar unless it carries superpower. with its bulk scraft can function outside of trick room if it has set up and can take down blissy who can wall most pokemon on my team. Moxie also helps increasing scrafty's attack after it has set up allowing it to go through a sweep destroying my members of any team
Dusclops - Evolite
- Trick Room
- Night Shade
- Toxic
- Pain Split
Ev 252 Hp 80 Def 176 Spec Def
Relaxed Nature
Evolite has made some NFE pokemon extremely bulky and dusclops is a great example withe given Evs dusclops is one of the most defensive pokemon in the entire game. the set is simple set up trick room when possible and switch. night shade is useful for causing some small damage combined with toxic. pain split is good for recovery and can weaken many walls given Dusclps's low Hp. Fighting type moves is a slight weakness of this team as scrafty heatran and porgon-z are all week to them making dusclps even more valuable as it is immune to such moves. also while setting up Trick Room payback will only have 50 base power making it far less of a thread from Conkeldurr and Machamp.
Slowbro - Regenerator - Leftovers
- Trick Room
- Scald
- Slack Off
- Ice Beam
Ev 252 Hp 200 Def 56 Spec Att
Slowbro has always been a solid bulky water type however in past generations it had to compete with vaporeon, swampert and milotic for a spot as a bulky water and with slightly less bulk and the issue of psychic typing meant it could never really shine. The came the Dream world and a brand new toy in regenerator. with it slowbro can recover Hp just by switching out. this is a great ability for a pokemon using trick room as switching is even more important to get sweepers in and attack with enough turn to clean up a team. scald another addition of the new gen helps it pass out burns and makes physical pokemon fear it even more. ice beam is here for dragons and gliscor taking both of them out.
Darmanitan - Sheer Force - Life Orb
- Flare Blitz
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- U-turn
Ev 252 Hp 252 Spec Att 4 Spec Def
Quite Nature
Reckless + Flare Blitz coming of 140 base attack is a sight to behold. it rips through anything that doesn't resist it able to OHKO Physically Defensive Skarmory one of the premiere physical walls. Quake edge compliments its coverage nicely letting it hit many pokemon for super effective damage and finally u-turn allows it to make quick escapes useful for the turn before trick room ends letting dusclpos or slowbro get in and set it back up. 95 speed is a little on the higher side but most offensive pokemon are running at least 100 so at minimum Darmanitan can "out-speed" most of the meta-game
Porygon-Z - Adaptability - Life Orb
- Trick Room
- Tri-Attack
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
The only pokemon who learn Trick Room through leveling up is a great addition here. Adaptability Tri-Attack rips through anything not steel rock or caries an egg around in a pouch. bolt beam rounds out the perfect neutral coverage taking down bulky waters and most dragons. gliscor who can be a real pain is easily taken down by ice-beam a sure OHKO. Porygon-Z is the real offensive Trick Roomer able to go on a sweep after it sets up its own trick room, because of the power of Tri-attack it can often get a free turn to set up and then proceed to take out important members of a team
