[SET COMMENTS]
Due to its amazing Speed, Spikes, and ability to prevent entry hazard removal using its typing and fast Taunt, Froslass finds a niche as a suicide lead. However, Froslass only fits on hyper offense teams because of its lack of defensive utility and is outclassed by other Spikes users such as Qwilfish and Garbodor on bulkier builds. Setting up one or more layers of Spikes provide residual damage, weakening foes to let strong wallbreakers clean up. Ice Beam pressures common Defoggers such as Rotom-C and Stealth Rock setters such as Rhydon and Mudsdale. Alternatively, Icy Wind can be utilized to provide speed control, preventing Flame Charge Silvally formes from boosting their Speed and allowing Froslass to potentially get an extra attack or set up Spikes. Destiny Bond brings down a slower check or counter that KOes Froslass after Focus Sash has been activated. Taunt prevents Pokemon from setting up or removing hazards. Focus Sash ensures that Froslass will get up at least a layer of Spikes, and Cursed Body can potentially disable an attacking move, crippling many Choice-locked Pokemon. Maximum Speed investment allows Froslass to outspeed Virizion, Charizard, and Ninetales.
Powerful wallbreakers such as Indeedee, Passimian, and Salazzle appreciate Froslass's ability to set up Spikes and deter Stealth Rock setters, weakening foes while allowing them to safely switch into battle. Sweepers like Linoone, Silvally-Ghost, and Gallade can take advantage of Froslass weakening checks such as Rhydon, Steelix, Bewear, and Vileplume to set up and clean late-game. VoltTurn users such as Alolan Raichu, Passimian, and Rillaboom also appreciate Spikes support wearing down foes that try to regain momentum by constantly switching. Defiant users such as Braviary and Passimian can punish Defoggers, making them ideal teammates for Froslass. Taunt users such as Whimsicott and Drapion can provide additional hazard removal protection, allowing Spikes to remain on the battlefield.
