Yes, you better believe it! At the end of every round (And at the beginning of the match), the referee will roll a number between 0 (ASB Arena) & however many arenas there are in the arena compendium thread (Each representing an arena in theArena Compendium Thread in chronological order). Whichever number you roll, for the next round, the battle will take place on that arena. Its as simple as that.

Restrictions: Weather Effects, Room Effects, Entry Hazards, & Gravity only last until the end of a round, unless the same arena is rolled twice in a row, otherwise, Variable
    • RNG Roll (Arena) [0-360]: 10/10000 (Korski's Old Bomb Factory)
ARENA: Old Bomb Factory
Field Type: Neutral
Complexity: Moderate
Format: All

Restrictions: No water source.

Description:

A dilapidated, old factory that used to make bombs for some war. No one ended up using the bombs, so they were instead piled floor-to-ceiling and left to rot. They are very old, fragile, and most importantly, active. Unfortunately, our competitors will be battling in a small, cleared-out area of the factory surrounded by these bombs. Any missed physical attacks have a 75% chance of striking a bomb, causing it to explode and doing 10 damage to the attacker. Any missed special attacks have a 75% chance to explode 2-5 bombs behind the opposing team for 2 damage apiece on both opposing Pokemon. Any missed status moves have a 50% chance of defusing all the bombs behind the opponent's team for the rest of the battle. Any multi-target moves like Rock Slide, Earthquake, and Blizzard have a 33% chance of setting off all the bombs in the Factory, doing 30 damage to all Pokemon on the field, even Flying/Levitating Pokemon (in the case of Earthquake).

Other than that, the roof has mostly collapsed over the years, so sky-based attacks like Moonlight, Thunderbolt, and Sky Drop can still be used to their full potential. There is no nearby water source, though, so Surf is not an option. The four walls of the factory are far away, meaning the only horizontal impediments will be the walls of bombs surrounding the battlefield. Don't sprint or get thrown too fast in any direction, or you may hit a bomb (ref's discretion)!

Dimensions: 20'x20' square, infinite height.
Comments: This battlefield favors Special Attackers, especially those with low-accuracy moves like Focus Blast or Hydro Pump. Things get risky in doubles+ formats, as the multi-target moves like Blizzard and Earthquake that are popular there carry an increased risk for everyone on the field. Speedy foes and those calling for dodges must be conscious of positioning, as they could accidentally run into a wall of bombs. Similarly, Pokemon using grappling and throwing moves have an advantage, as they can attempt to throw their opponents towards the walls of bombs.

Reaper Cloth
Welcome once again to the Teleportation Arena, in which we're about to see a huge battle of epic proportions, IAR & Forsty have brought some of their best pokemon and we're ready to see them fight for the glory of beating the other in a serious match, neither who looks willing to give up on.

Frosty releases Bongo Bongo and equips his signature Reaper Cloth, whose scary presence intermediately fills the field with and unnerving air, IAR doesn't flinch though and instead throws his own mon into the field, Virus the Porygon2, though this one using an Eviolite, thus making him a lot sturdier than it would otherwise be. Mirroring Dusknoir's great defenses while completely ignoring Dusknoir's ability along the way. A smart choice to be sure.

Virus' abilities activate as he hits the field, copying Bongo Bongo's Pressure and increasing it's own Special Attack giving himself a much needed edge for breaking Bongo Bongo. IAR analyses the situation and orders Virus to launch a shadow ball against the shadow pokemon, doing some damage but costing him a good deal of energy, Bongo doesn't answer and instead created a little voodoo doll in exchange of over one quarter of it's health, his stomach painted with a dark grin as he executes his plans, whichever those might be. As confused ans one server, Virus starts charging itself to launch another attack against the ghost but Bongo Bongo is no foul and uses this time to absorb the life of it's foe, Virus, taking a huge chunk of it's life while recovering a good portion of his own, almost enough to recover for his previous move. Virus analyses the situation and releases a powerful solar beam towards the ghost, but this is attracted to the small substitute that BB created just moments ago, which absorbs the full impact of the attack without breaking apart, it might be a little rugged but otherwise it remains solid, which seems to be a problem as Bongo Bongo start focusing all his energies on his left fist, ready to make an attack, Virus knows it must do something to deconcentrate the gripper pokemon, analyzing the situation results in using an ice beam as the best course of action, and thus is the chosen one, Virus charges faster that last time, releasing a beautiful ray of white and blue tones, ready to freeze his deadly fist, though once again this is attracted to the immobile doll sitting in the middle of the field, this time doing some critical damage and breaking it for good, but not before Bong can finish charging his energy to smash him right in the middle of his ducky face, taking a good portion of it's health with it.

After the first round both Bongo Bongo clearly has the advantage regarding Health but the cost has been great for it's energy, something which both pokemon seem to be dwelling even though Virus' situation is a tad better, but this is only the first round, anything could happen and as we've seen, anything can happen with those two

Field Type: Dragon/Psychic
Complexity: Moderate
Restrictions: Psychic and Dragon moves get +2 BAP, all legendaries and pseudo-legendaries get +1 to their SpA and Atk, no Digging.

This colosseum is the real deal. If you have reached this point, you know you're good. You can even feel the legend in the air. This arena is a dome with stars projected on it to make it look like a night sky. There is a circular arena designed in the titanium in the floor. This arena is too intense for any Pokemon that can still evolve. Any weather the Pokemon try to make will be simulated through certain resources to not be unfair to Pokemon with certain strategies. For the same reason, a pool of water is next to the arena and will be refilled instantly after water is taken from it. Seismic activity is allowed, but the crowd has heavily padded seats in case an Earthquake takes place. The one thing not allowed is digging, because the floor is solid titanium. All pseudo-legendaries and real legendaries get one extra rank added to their Attack and Special Attack stats (this is not a "boost" like Work Up, but like actually increasing their stats). Psychic and Dragon type moves get two added to their base attack power because of the legend in the air.

List of pseudo-legendaries and legendaries that get a boost (PM/VM me if this list should be changed at all)[Pokemon currently available in ASB bolded]: Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, Dragonite, Mewtwo, Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Tyranitar, Lugia, Ho-oh, Celebi, Salamence, Metagross, Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Latias, Latios, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys,Garchomp, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Dialga, Palkia, Heatran, Regigigas, Giratina (both forms), Cresselia, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin (both forms), Arceus (all forms), Victini, Hydreigon, Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, Tornadus, Thundurus, Reshiram, Zekrom, Landorus, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta (both forms), Genesect

Oh, with a flash of light we find ourselves in a completely different setting, we switch to the place were legends face each other and the strongest of them all become like gods. Virus seems to analyze his new environment to try to adapt his strategy according to it, meanwhile Bongo Bongo precipitates itself without thinking, which only causes his turn to go to waist as he tries to obtain an ability that Virus no longer have. Virus on the other hand abuses the mystic energy that abounds and uses his amplified mental power to lift the heavy ghost and throw it against one of the many lights inside the dome.

Virus the continues to smash Bongo Bongo with a shadow ball while he's incapacitated by the flash of the broken bulb. Bongo bongo is a bit shaken up and decides to take it slow, recovering a bit of energy but having lost a bunch of health while doing so. Virus tries to unfocus him before he gets back to normal by smashing him against the ground with the same technique used previously, with just as effective results, though this time Bongo is prepared to counter the attack with one of his own, smashing Virus with his own hand like it's just a useless brick. Virus comes crashing to the ground in parts, hurt but hardly beaten as he is quick to reassemble himself into his regular form, ready for continue the fight. Where though? all we know is that we're once again surrounded by a flash of white light just to be transported into a room with a giant red crystal in the center of it. Where are we now?

RNG Roll (Arena) [0-360]: 209/10000 (Empyreal Paradox)
Dissidia_012_-_FFXI_Stage_-_Empyreal_Paradox.PNG

Field Type:
Dark, Ice
Complexity: Moderate
Format: All
Traits: Artificial Field, No Digging, No Seismic Attacks, No Water Source

Description:
The arena is a large flat expanse with a giant orange crystal in the center. Several smaller crystals line the arena on the outside perimeter, and a strange world can be seen below the stage.

Omega Absorption - The great crystal takes 5 En from both battlers for itself at the end of each round. When a critical hit (other than Frost Breath/Storm Throw) occurs, the Crystal releases a pulse and all mons in play take damage equal to the accumulated En, divided equally between all mons in play and rounded down. The Crystal's En stock then resets.

Rest - Trick Room - Chill

(in case you are wondering, Trick Room is so Dusknoir moves last and Porygon doesn't get Analytic bonus. If I am/remember wrong and the zzzs occur at normal priority regardless, then just replace it with chill.)

Also, I love how my team appears to have increased in size for some reason.

Well, is seems that we know are in space, in a glass platform with an amazing view of planet Earth, the giant Ruby on the middle of the field, it's a great and unsettling piece but doesn't seem to be doing anything besides spinning on it's own, we should probably leave it alone, disturbing it seems could bring more trouble than it's worth.

Bongo Bongo & Virus seem to think the same as they try to stay away from the center, something both trainers give no objection to. Virus keeps the assault, though this time he's feeling a bit lighter an weaker as his powers seem to have diminished from last round, feeling itself unable to bounce Bongo Bongo around like a cheap balloon until, shame as he seemed about to pop too. Instead he returns to his first strategy and uses the shadows created by the dim light from the crystal on the floating platform, using it's energy to leave Bongo Bongo with one foo... mmm, tail in the grave. Bongo Bongo seems really tired though, and chooses to retreat himself, protected by the crystal and take a quick nap, recovering some of the health drained from him by the battle. Porygon2 doesn't take much time to locate the fleeing ghost pleasantly asleep, and nothing the tranquility of the scene, starts charging itself with the power of our nearby star, well, that's fortunate as it should make this go a lot quicker, letting it do what he's been programmed to: Destroy all life on Earth, which technically speaking doesn't fit neither Dusknoir nor here considering our current position, where by the way we seem to be able to talk and breed perfectly even though there should be no air around, but I'm rambling, and Virus has finished charging, and thus releases a powerful energy beam against the sleepy hollow. Bongo Bongo barely feels a sting, not even bothering waking up to see what happens and only rolling a bit on it's sleep after landing halfway to the border.

Virus seems to be becoming more and more unstable by the minute, maybe it's all the radiation around this place or it's energy running out, it's still not something that matters much to his trainer as he commands the poor pokemon to release another Shadow Ball, this time using all of the energy he has in reserve and absorbing the power from the void itself that is space, and throwing it against a foe that doesn't even acknowledges the danger he's in. Which sadly is, once again, unable to wake him up nor to even throw him over the cliff of space. Virus falls apart as his energy runs out and return to it's trainer, who looks satisfied about it's performance, as even though he lost the battle, the war is beginning. Bongo bongo keeps on snoring, wow, nothing can wake up this thing, not even the giant crystal that is finally reacting, was a sacrifice required to activate it's ancient powers? maybe that's the reason of it's bloody coloration? whatever the reason is another flash, now one engulfing the field on a bright red light is generated from the jewel, absorbing the energy of all the remaining pokemon on the field, which sadly for Bonbo Bongo means only him. It's very interesting how a purple string, dancing irregularly in the air, formed like a old twisted branch absorbs some energy from the dreamer feeding the Paradox, though once again the pokemon is undisturbed by all this as he keep on resting, well, at least it will be healthy.

It finishes feeding from the battler, and and energy sphere appears on the center of the giant ruby, it's looks like a bubble but it's behavior is erratic, as it seems to try to escape it's own self, trying to break the surface to escape the gem, we can only catch a glimpse of it as pops and another light flash, this time a white one, absorbs us and transport us to another location, with all I can gatther beee..bee..ii.ing... iiiittt..s..s.s... co...co..co.co.coco...cooooolllldd.d.d.d...

Sleeping (0a)
RNG Roll (Arena) [0-360]: 73/10000 (Glacier's Algorstorm)
Field Type- Ice
Complexity- IntenseFormat- All
Restrictions and important notes:
Algorstorms can be generated by using hail
Algorstorms last three rounds
A-storms deal 4HP to all non ice types, give 30% freeze chance to ice attacks with freeze chance and 10% freeze chance to ice types originally without a freeze chance, and can the attack sheer cold
in an a-storm sheer cold becomes a 15BP ice move with 60 accuracy and a 75% chance to freeze foe completely
at the end of round one all non ice pokemon contract weak hypothermia
at the end of round three all non ice pokemon, non fire pokemon, and pokemon without thick fat contract moderate Hypothermia
at the end of round five all non ice/fire/thick fat pokemon contract extreme hypothermia
non ice pokemon use three more energy to dig
if non ice/fire/thick fat pokemon touch the water or make contact with the water, they go up one grade of hypothermia and ice attacks gain 5% more freeze chance when directed towards them

Algorstorm: A harsh and extreme enviroment, Algorstorm is a chilly paradise to ice types and a frozen hell for others. This arena resembles the taiga of Siberian Russia, and the area available to battle on is 1500 feet wide and long, circular shaped. for a description of the terrain, imagine the arena is a bullseye. the white outer ring consists of mountains, all snowy and treacherous (ring is 200 feet thick). the white and blue rings are merged together and form a large forest (300 feet thick). the forest's trees are tall and skinny, due to the massive snow storms packing the needles together. the forest is a large clump of frozen life. The red ring of the bullseye is plains, thick with snow (400 feet thick). in the center of the arena area lies a huge frozen lake (400 feet long and 200 feet wide). the water is 30 degrees, but surprisingly it isnt all ice. you dont want to touch the water though, unless you're part ice or have some thick fat. The area's temperature never reaches above -20 degrees fahrenheit, and it is always either snowing, hailing, blizzarding, or even worse, Algorstorming. named after the area in which it resides, Algorstorms are blizzards bigger and meaner old brothers. if one whips up, beware! it will release destructive hail, worse than regular, so non ice types will lose 4HP per action. The sub zero power of the storm, as well as the arena, boosts ice moves, so their ability to freeze is increased! (ice moves that give a chance to freeze now have a 30% freeze chance. ice moves that do not give a chance to freeze now have a 10% freeze chance. also ice move combonations have a 100% chance to freeze target.) and if that weren't enough, the trump move of all ice types changes drastically! Sheer cold gets more accuracy and will almost surely freeze you! (though it powers down oddly enough).

So, think you can handle algorstorms? sadly, the area does not produce these wonders naturally anymore. you'll have to trigger one yourself! if a pokemon uses the move hail, their icy powers to react with the already stormy ice weather can create, can you guess, an algorstorm! algorstorms last 3 round.

As if the storms weren't enough, another factor plays into this arena drastically. Due to the hellish climate of the area (remember, -20 fahrenheit!), your pokemon may succumb to Hypothermia. now, ice pokemon will never be affected by hypothermia, and fire types (and pokemon with the ability thick fat in play) can only contract weak hypothermia. but everyone else, beware! there are three stages of Hypothermia:

    • Weak Hypothermia: The battler loses 10 base speed (e.g a pokemon with originally 80 speed gets weak hypothermia and now has 70 speed)
    • Moderate Hypothermia: battler loses 20 base speed (e.g pokemon with 80 now has 60 base) and loses 1BP to all non ice attacks
    • Extreme Hypothermia: Battler loses 30 base speed (e.g pokemon with 80 speed now has 50 base speed), loses 2BP to all non ice attacks, and loses 2HP per action
Ways you contract Hypothermia:

1) battling in the Algorstorm arena: the climate and weather is too harsh! Hypothermia is always prone here! At the end of round one all non ice pokemon get weak hypothermia. after round three it goes up to moderate hypothermia (fire types and thick fat users do not get moderate or extreme). at the end of round five a pokemon with moderate hypothermia now has extreme hypothermia.

2) getting hit by ice moves: if a pokemon has weak hypothermia and loses 25 or more HP from ice attacks, they will get Moderate Hypothermia. if a pokemon has Moderate hypothermia and loses 45 or more HP form ice attacks, they will get extreme Hypothermia.

Other things to be wary of:

Due to the frozen ground, only ice types can use dig with ease. dig used by non ice types cost 3 more ener.

If a pokemon comes in contact with the water in the center of the arena and is not ice type or have thick fat, they get weak hypothermia (or hypothermia boosts up a grade if already present), and ice attacks against them will have a 5% more chance of freezing.

The weather cannot be changed, unless to induce a algorstorm. at the beginning of the match there is a 30% for snow, 30% for hail, 40% chance for blizzarding.
Frosty, do you have a sweater?

Counterswitch?

So I was reading the arena (which obviously came from the mind of the Glacier) and found this:

"at the beginning of the match there is a 30% for snow, 30% for hail, 40% chance for blizzarding."

Hail is Hail and for Snow we can use Waterwarrior's arena, but I don't get what is blizzard as a weather... I will go as "nothing" since it isn't specified.

Either way, Gerard probably has to roll the RNG so we know the weather.

Also, this does not affect my bringing snorlax in.

Oh sorry for that, I'll go with this:

- WW's Snow
- Regular Hail
- Hail + 1 Blizzard against both opponents at the end of the round (Rank 3 STAB)

RNG Roll (Weather) [3/6/10]: 5709/10000 (Regular Hail)

Hope this doesn't change anything but if it does just let me now, otherwise let's go on :3

If Hail changes your orders, lemme know, IAR, otherwise I will just order to save us time.

Also...is it just me or everytime I check this topic the OP has the pokemon on different places?

Ohhhh that's much bettterrr, we're here in what Glacier thinks it's a place were people would willingly choose to fight, but since this machine seems to hate me for some reason, come on, I need two sweaters when it's 15 degrees outside. Dang you Frosty, how is it that neither you or Bublin seem to be bothered by this weather, ugh whatever, let's keep the fight going.

IAR seems as uncomfortable with the recent temperature drop as myself, and Capers even more so, he seems to be much colder than I was, that really seems like it's gonna be a problem, even more in this are, and King Bublin is not helping the matters, not that he have any reason to, by using the strong winds of the Algorstorm to blow a strong Blizzard against the flying scorpion, who proceeds to protect itself from the storm, well, Caper's lucky King isn't an Ice type since otherwise there would be a dangerous chance of protect being broken. Capers sting it's tail in the snow and stand alone against the powerful strong Bublin invoked to drown him in ice in an amazing way, he's covered in the snow but that doesn't even slow down the dangerous bat, who can get to close range of KB and manages to smash him with his claw, knocking his unique Incense in the process and weakening his bulk and attack, still, that was a dangerous move and the price is high as Bublin shots him an Ice Beam almost face to face, heavy damaging Capers but avoiding the freeze just by virtue of it's Jolly nature, as he watches Bublin prepare itself to blow another strong blizzard Capers protects itself once again and just like the first time Capers manages to protect itself from the cold, and managing to stall time before the new arena is in place. what kind of surprise could we be preparing ourselves for?

Ok that sucks, the next available arena is choosen

WaterWarrior's Discordia!

You and your opponent walk proudly into the typical ASB Arena, the crowd cheering. You look at each other, shake hands and get ready to fight... and then you both notice something wrong. "Why all of the spectators are quiet?" You think. "They're NEVER quiet!" As you look to the stands, you notice that the people have not only stopped cheering, they've stopped moving! As you watch in horror, they start disappearing, one by one, to the beat of hands clapping together. You and your foe look over to the ref's stand, and all you see is some messed up animal hybrid, a creature that you have only heard of in legends... the draconequus. He looks you in the eyes and speaks; "Well well well. WELCOME to my humble abode. I'm afraid I'm a little bored, and I just COULDN'T resist the temptation to have a little fun with your funny little pets." "Who are you?!" You yell. As the foul creature leaps to your side, he says, in a rather snide manner, "Oh my dear, my apologies, my name is Discord. And, well... I'm afraid that you're going to be my toy for a little while... until you BREAK! THIS IS MY DOMAIN!"

That's right, your Pokemon are up against Discord himself. The rules for him are as follows:
-No wings, no magic
-Discord will be controlled by the ref. SHOW NO MERCY.
-Discord has unlimited energy, but is not allowed to use combos
-Discord is immune to all major status effects, and can not hurt himself in confusion
-Discord will start as a Normal-type, but from the second round onwards, his type will be RNG'd by the ref
-As the god of chaos, Discord can do whatever he wants (akin to the Ref's Mind) although, he'll want to have some fun of course, so stay within some degree of reason when deciding your field effects
