Brief Description

Monotype Ice decks work well against lots of popular Monotype teams, such as Dragon and Flying. This Monotype team is both offensive and defensive: a balance team. These Pokemon work well together to defeat meta teams. Let's show you how.

250px-221Piloswine.png

Piloswine @ Eviolite
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 176 HP / 92 Atk / 240 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Ice Shard

Piloswine is an amazing defensive Stealth Rocker. Combined with Eviolite, its defenses skyrocket. In my opinion, it is better than Mamoswine because of its superior bulk with Eviolite, making up for its lower HP, Speed, and Attack. I personally think Mamoswine is not very good as a Stealth Rocker, and would be better suited as a Steel and Fire check, as only Mamoswine's Attack, Speed, and HP stats increase when it evolves from Pillowswine. Earthquake, Stone Edge, and Ice Shard provide useful damage and coverage when needed.

250px-131Lapras.png

Lapras @ Choice Specs
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Surf
- Freeze-Dry
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Signal Beam

Lapras is an extremely powerful bulky special attacker. She is rarely used in Monotype teams, but is unexpectedly strong. It may surprise unsuspecting people. It makes a fantastic Water check (if that is even needed) with Water Absorb and Freeze-Dry. Surf comes in handy when taking out Fire types. Hidden Power Fire is for Steels and Signal Beam is for Grass types. All in all, Lapras is a solid Pokemon with amazing coverage. It's sad this Pokemon is so underused.

mega_glalie.png

Glalie-Mega @ Glalitite
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Double-Edge / Return
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Explosion

Mega Glalie is a force to be reckoned with. Literally. It's armed with an insanely high attack, coupled with insanely strong STAB moves. Refrigerated Double-Edge has a 144 BP. That's almost as strong as a BLAST BURN. Ice Shard provides priority to finish off weak, but fast, opponents. Earthquake is a good coverage move for Steel types. Refrigerated STAB Explosion. It can speak for itself.

250px-713Avalugg.png

Avalugg @ Rocky Helmet / Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Avalanche
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Recover

Did you say you wanted some defense? Well here comes Avalugg. This Pokemon has a whopping 184 defense. That's higher than most Legendaries. It almost guarantees you will get off a Rapid Spin. What's that you say? Did you just get hit by a Band 252+ V-Create? That's only a 12.5% chance to OHKO. Avalanche/Earthquake provide damage, and Recover is just so reliable.

250px-478Froslass.png

Froslass @ Choice Specs
Ability: Cursed Body
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Frost Breath
- Shadow Ball
- Psychic
- Switcheroo

I love Froslass. It provides great damage with Frost Breath, Shadow Ball, and Psychic. Switcheroo is great to mess with Pokemon such as Chansey and Stealth Rockers. Cursed Body can come in handy, as well. She works well as a stallbreaker.

kyurem-black.jpg

Kyreum-Black @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Teravolt
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 32 SpA / 224 Spe
Naive Nature
- Outrage
- Fusion Bolt
- Zen Headbutt
- Stone Edge

Able to outspeed many things like Mega-Charizard Y, a huge threat, Kyreum-Black packs a PUNCH, or should I say, it packs an Outrage, Fusion Bolt, Stone Edge and Zen Headbutt. It's a powerhouse that can shred through many threats and is very powerful in late-game sweeping. Like a janitor.

That's it! I would be very pleased if you commented or suggested tips to me and other pokemon nerds. Thanks!

Hello! As someone who uses Ice quite frequently, it's pretty cool(no pun intended) that someone made an Ice RMT. However, looking at your team, I have a few suggestions:

Change the Piloswine's EV spread: I'm not sure what those EVs are even supposed to be for, and you'd just be losing out on special bulk. The spread I would suggest is 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD with a Careful nature. Another suggestion would be replacing Ice Shard with Roar otherwise Piloswine will be complete setup bait for Mega Scizor, one of the biggest threats to Ice teams. The final suggestion would be running 15 IVs in Speed in order to underspeed Magearna under Trick Room.

Run some Speed investment on Lapras: Lapras is far from underused on Ice teams, since it's one of the type's most reliable checks to Mega Scizor, while also making the type do exceptionally well in the Water matchup. Running 176 Speed EVs can let it outspeed Adamant Azumarill, which is very important. Overall, the spread should end up looking like 80 HP / 252 SpA / 176 Spe with a Modest nature. Another suggestion would be replacing Signal Beam with Hydro Pump. Signal Beam will hardly be hitting any prevalent threats that its other moves can't already hit, and Hydro Pump can provide Lapras an insanely powerful Water STAB move to make up for its mediocre Special Attack.

Replace either Avalanche or Earthquake with Roar: Being able to phase out Mega Scizor is so important that Roar is pretty essential. Leaning more towards replacing Earthquake since you have enough Pokemon on your team with Ground coverage as is. Another smaller optimization is maxing out its HP, since 394 isn't divisible by 4.

Replace Mega Glalie with Mamoswine: Mega Glalie is bluntly terrible right now as a wallbreaker, and Mamoswine generally does better at the job due to its higher Attack, part Ground typing, and access to better coverage moves in Knock Off and Superpower. Even with Piloswine, a Wallbreaking Mamoswine set still does incredibly well in helping your team in the Poison matchup.

Replace Froslass with Alolan Ninetales:
If Froslass were ever to be ran on an Ice team, it would be a hazard lead on a HO team. But since you said yourself that this was more of a balanced team, Froslass just doesn't do so well, especially when you already have a Specs Lapras. Alolan Ninetales has proven itself to be a necessity to Ice teams this gen thanks to Aurora Veil utility and its part Fairy typing. Alolan Ninetales is also capable of checking Fighting types for your team just like Froslass does, and Aurora Veil provides incredible support for Piloswine and Avalugg.

Change Kyurem-Black's moveset:
Since you have a mixed spread, it would seem pretty odd that you don't have any special moves, which is why Zen Headbutt and Stone Edge should be dropped in favor of Ice Beam and Earth Power. Zen Headbutt and Stone Edge just won't be hitting too many important targets, whereas Ice Beam is solid STAB to have, and Earth Power is important coverage for hitting Tapu Koko, Heatran, Excadrill, Rotom-Wash, and many more. Another suggestion would be maxing out the Kyurem-Black's Speed, since the extra Special Attack investment won't grant you any specific KOs or 2HKOs.

Here's the team after the suggested changes, I hope this helped:
