Fun in the Rain

Hello fellow smogonites!
Today I am showing you my first team (that i put in a rmt)
A little more about myself: I'm quite a noob, I only got in the competitive aspect of Pokemon about a year ago but Pokemon online only a month ago and smogon even less. So please go easy on me
It is a semi-standard rain team. Not quite Hyper-offensive and absolutely not stall you can consider it balance. It has got me to around 1150(ya im a noob).. All your help and input on how to make it better would be greatly appreciated.

Goal:
the goal of my team is simple. Weaken the opponents team with rachi, loom, starmie, and even politoed. After the opponents team is weakened enough latios and azumarill will sweep the rest of their team.

Here is the team:

Standard Politoed here to summon the rain. Its physically defensive and the only thing that can take decent physical hits on my team. His goal on my team is to outlive the other weather starter with his stally moveset. Scald good for damage and the occasional burn which helps poli take physical hits even better. Toxic is here to get things that my team usually has trouble taking down i.e dragons and such. Perish song is a god send to poli and is a great phazing move in general. Protect is there to stall out the opponents when toxic is racking up and is good for scouting. Politoed usually dies midgame (when facing no weather) because he already did his job. Set u the rain
ThatGuy (Politoed) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Scald
- Toxic
- Perish Song
- Protect

Specially defensive Jirachi is great especially in the rain. It can sponge a plethora of special attacks, cripple sweepers with t-wave, and also is my stealth rocker. The set's main goal is to set up stealth rock and wish pass(if need be then flinch hax). It has decent synergy with politoed covering poli's weaknesses such as grass attacks and electric attacks. I've had trouble dealing with magnezones though as they can easily trap and kill me(though if they have no sub they will get flinch haxed XD) Also if you didnt notice i only have one steel type on my team (not enough to deal with pesky dragons) and when jirachi dies then dnite dragon dances its almost gg for me.
Jiraya (Jirachi) @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SDef / 32 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Iron Head (good for flinch haxing stuff to death)
- Thunder (makes haxing easier)
- Wish (revives almost fallen comrades)
- Stealth Rock (getting those ko)

Bulk up breloom is just amazing. Bulk up is great! It makes his already great attack even better and his low defenses to acceptable amounts! Also this lets him run evs on special defense. Also thiis guy stops volt turn very well and counters threats to my team such as gliscor(after a lot of bulk ups it can!)blissey, tyranitar, ferrothorn, jellicent, and to an extent terakion and haxorus. His other moves also dont let him down. Very accurate spore to cripple opponents and strong dual stabs. Not to mention one of the best abilites in the game which is poison heal pretty much making him immune to statuses and gives this fungus another way of reliable recovery.
Mushroom (Breloom) (F) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 236 HP / 212 SDef / 60 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Bulk Up (great)
- Drain Punch (more hp)
- Seed Bomb (120 bp after stab hurts)
- Spore (never misses? yes please)

Starmie's been OU since 1st gen for a good reason! It has boltbeam coverage, recovery, and the rare rapid spin. My team suffers a bit from entry hazards mostly spikes and thats why starmie is here to get ride of them! Also starmie just isnt for spinning it can also attack and be a great late game sweeper. With recover starmie fills the role of being able to stall out some pokemon too!
WentToJareds (Starmie) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Ice Beam (awesome to kill dragons before +1)
- Thunder (abuses rain! 120 bp with 100 accuracy is great)
- Recover (dont wanna die)
- Rapid spin (this is why im here)

Choice banded azumarill is an underrated threat that most teams arent prepared for. With a choice band and its ability its attack reaches over 500! And its move hurts too! With stab aqua jet in rain it'll decimate everything not named jellicent. Also this guy has very good bulk and can live through powerful attacks. It has decent coverage with its 4 moves. Aqua jet gives my team much need priority. Waterfall if i predict a switch. Superpower if i predit a switch to pesky ferrothorns and finally ice punch. Ice punch can OHKO (normal dd)dragonite with multiscale intact! This guy is very good and should not be underestimated!
Cutesy (Azumarill) (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Aqua Jet (priority is never bad)
- Waterfall (stab move that reaches 120 bp after stab!) :D
- Ice Punch (Bye-Bye dragonite)
- Superpower (Ferrothorn is happily 2hkoed by this move)

Awesome scarfer is awesome! Latios with choice scarf is just blistering fast and can outspeed threats and ohko them. Threats like landorus, haxorus, terakion, and other not mentioned here hate to see scarfed latios. Also if latios gets tired of holding his fashionable scarf he can always trade with the opponents item. The trade can cripple walls like skarm and bliss which is always good. Latios can also revenge kill dragons who have +1 speed like dragonite!
JetBlue (Latios) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor (stab attack denting that doesn't resist it)
- Surf (very powerful in the rain)
- Trick (lol heres my stuff)
- Psyshock (good stab that ohkos terakion)

Thanks for reading guys!
Please criticize my team and give me good suggestions thanks everyone :)

Threat list:

Volcorona:
After a couple of qd this guy can sweep if azumarril isnt around

Terakion:
After some boosts this guy can sweep too :/

First off, I say you use Choice Scarf Politoed and then use Choice Specs on your Latios. Politoed makes a great Choice Scarfer while if you use Choice Specs Latios, you are easily able to put your opponent in a checkmate position because of its Draco Meteor's raw power. It's especially useful against Drought teams where they only have Forretress who cannot take on repeated Draco Meteors.

Secondly, use Thunder over Thunder Wave on Jirachi. It gives you something to use against Jellicent and another form of damage besides Iron Head. Also when using it, use a Sassy nature and move all Speed EVs to Defense or maximize your Special Defense EVs.

Starmie greatly appreciates the boost it gets from Rain; therefore you should go try and abuse it. Replace Recover with Hydro Pump and possibly use Life Orb instead of Leftovers. This lets you OHKO Standard Scizor and gives you an extra punch in many situations. If you really want recover, you should replace it with Ice Beam then use Grass Knot over Thunder, which gives you Hydro Pump / Grass Knot / Rapid Spin / Recover. This lets you beat Gastrodon too, which is a huge bonus to teams like yours because Gastrodon can be a real pain to Drizzle teams.

Good luck with your team.

I see Dragonite severely hurting this team, bigtime. With Jirachi out of the picture(quite easy to do considing how teams with Dragonite tend to have counters to the likes of Jirachi. To help, I suggest using another band user, such as Scizor. Scizor's technician banded bullet punch hits just as strong if not stronger than an Aqua Jet. This also gives you a reliable counter to Terrakion, and free scouting. Make sure to get Stealth Rock up ASAP(Jirachi might not be the best for this role, consider changing. Paraflinch can only go so far in a strategy-based videogame.
-your team holds a lot of ice moves specifically for Dragonite, a bad idea. Replace Ice Beam with Hydro Pump on Starmie.
-Consider Thunder over Thunder Wave on Jirachi. 40% paralysis and a powerful move never hurt anyone, and gives you something to hit physical walls with.
-Try an Expert Belt Latios over Scarf. With Scizor being the most common pokemon in the metagame, it is more than likely they will attempt to absorb a Draco Meteor, which you proceed to kill them with an HP fire. With Expert Belt, you aren't losing power with HP fire(which you should only use when Super Effective) and it has similar power to a neutral Thunderbolt or STAB Psychic in rain, making it still useful even when weather is up. Latios should come up before Politoed if there's a Scizor on the oponent's team as the steel type.

@korkon t
I see.. The only reason i dont want to use expert belt latios is because i will be outsped by +1 dragonites and such :/
And ill use your suggestions for starmie

@light
The scarf toed sounds nice but i wouldnt have any defensive presence on my team anymore :/

You still seem to be a tad too worried about Dragonite. a defensive pokemon on your current team is not terribly necessary once you neutralize the Dragonite threat. The Scizor I suggested would definitely help over Azumaril, you might want to test it out.

@korkont
Okay thanks i tried out the scizor and it is doing very well!
Also since i switched my azumarill with scizor i gave my starmie surf and ice beam instead of thunder and ice beam.. thank you

I am sure someone must have mentioned this, but run Thunder over T-wave on Jirachi. The rate of paralysis is 60% and you can use a 100% accurate move with 120 BP. What's not to like?

Any Standard SS team, completely rapes this team. Specially defensive Tyranitar puts a quick end to Latios, and Starmie with pursuit or crunch. Terrakion puts major pain to the rest of your team, the CB set 1hkoing or 2hkoing them with CC, and NP celebi can beat every member of your team bar latios with giga drain hp fire or psychic. To help with some of these problems I would recommend using Scizor over Azumarill, and Standard Rotom-W over Starmie, this gives you a nice Volt turn core, allowing you to muscle past a lot of defensive cores, and eases prediction, as well as keeping Terrakion in check with a CB bullet punch to refrain it from sweeping your entire team.

I suggest trying Hydro Pump on Starmie instead of Surf. Hydro Pump will hit extremely hard in the rain, probably hard enough to 2HKO Dragonite without Multi-Scale intact. The only thing you really need to beat Dragonite is Stealth Rock, so make sure Jirachi gets that up ASAP. Then Starmie can easily 2HKO Dragonite assuming rain is up, so you won't have to run Ice Beam, and you can run Thunder instead. But, of course, Hpump is unreliable sometimes, so if you want to use Surf that's understandable.

Also, I agree with whoever said to use Thunder on Jirachi. Thunder gets a 60% paralysis chance because of Serene Grace and it hits hard.
